Comfortable, clean and well equipped. We loved the sand beach - swimming, kayaking, canoeing steps from the cottage! Big plus was being able to bring our 2 little dogs.
Winnie and Frank were attentive and thoughtful.
It was a great vacation! We plan to return next year.
Winnie and Frank were great! They were very helpful and pleasant, very responsive! We'll be back next Summer
The only drawback is the noise from Route 5, but the many fans they provided helped with that.
We needed a house that was on a sandy beach and could house all ten of us plus two dogs. This house had everything we needed. The kitchen had all the pots and pans, plates, bowls and utensils we would need. We'd needed a sandy beach area that had a gradual water depth because of the age of two of the children. We brought our kayaks and a canoe as well, and spent most of the heat wave in the water!!
Waterboro Maine Victorian Carriage House on the Beach
Delightful house, very comfortable. Great view of the beautiful clear lake. Remember to bring linens, paper goods, and kitchen supplies such as plastic wrap. Dog-friendly. Kitchen is well-equipped with plates, glasses, cups, silverware, utensils, pots and pans. Nearby supermarket, produce stands, and lobster pound. Overall, fantastic.
Overall great experience, property was as described and owners were available to help with any needs or questions. Kids couldn't get enough of the lake, loved the floating dock and sandy beach area. My 7yr old daughter caught her first fish all on her own. Plenty of room for our dogs to stretch out on the property. We enjoyed farmers markets, pick your own and many food options on the area. Hope to be back soon.
Thanks for all the great memories
We had a great time. Frank and Winnie were wonderful. The lake lake is a perfect temperature and so clean and clear. My only criticism would be the cottages location to a main road. You cannot tell by the pictures in the listing, but it is about 80 yards off the road so the backdrop consists of the cars passing by.... motorcycles and emergency vehicles were a bit annoying. But... if you are floating in the middle of the lake it is a non issue!
We really enjoyed the property overall. The lake and beach area are beautiful. The sandy beach access was great for the whole family. It is a shared beach with a couple other houses but it was really quiet and there was plenty of space. Kitchen was very well stocked, easy to prep meals. I Do think the property could use some updates. I think the comforters and pillows need replacement. They were pretty stained. They seemed clean just old. FYI you have to bring your own linens. Also the living room furniture could use an update.

Great Lake with excellent fishing
Beach and lake were great.
Cottage was a little rough around the edges
The property was well cared for and as advertised on the website. It was right on the shared beach. The only negative we encountered was the very poor internet connection.
You can’t get closer to the lake unless your floating!
The house we stayed in has two Individual sides, one an old colonial and the other a converted carriage house! We stayed in the carriage house part, it was rustic and aged for sure but rich with history which my kids and I loved. The house was very comfortable and directly on a sandy beach shared with a few other houses nearby.
I brought my boat and was able to tie up to the dock directly off the beach ( which was a blessing) We spent most of our time in the pond. The property is compound of little cottages nicely spaced out with the owners living on the property as well which was great because any issue we had during our stay was resolved instantly as soon as it was brought up. The owners Winnie and Frank are wonderful friendly and very accommodating people!
I will definitely stay there again with hopes of bringing my extended family For a shared vacation on the beautiful clear lake and renting the other cottages so we all have our own space but can be together too all the same week! Andy

Why they chose this property
It has been in my husband Frank's family since the early 1900's
What makes this property unique
Each house is unique. The carriage house is named the Miracle House; because in the 1946 forest fire, they pumped water out of the lake and put out the (then) cedar shake roof.
