About this property

Surrounded by native bush and beautiful gardens, with views to the fabulous Coromandel Pinnacles, Sleeping Giant B&B is a quiet, private, self contained unit separate from the main house. The property is just a short drive from Pauanui and Tairua beaches. The unit comes with a comfortable King size bed, shower, toilet, Wifi and TV.
There are tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave. (No kitchen sorry) but a continental breakfast with tea, coffee and milk is provided to start your day.
Enjoy the peace and quiet, wander through the bush, or use us as your base while you explore our amazing coast. We are only 12 minutes from Pauanui and Tairua, 25 minutes to Whangamata, and forty minutes to Hahei and Hot Water Beach.
For the keen trampers we are just a few minutes from the historic Broken Hills trails in the Puketui Valley, where you can explore old tunnels and abandoned mine relics. And in the warmer weather we have the beautiful Tairua River at the bottom of the driveway with amazing swimming holes.

peaceful hideaway

Exactly as described & totally accurate pics. Hosts were perfect; there if we needed them & nowhere to be seen otherwise :-) We loved it so much we booked for 2 nights & were lucky enough to be able to extended it to 3

A secluded gem

Peaceful stay away from it all

Kathy and Jono were easy to communicate with and provided some helpful advice on local places to visit. The property had a lovely garden to walk through and sit in. The property felt peaceful and secluded, and the room and garden felt very private.

Perfect escape for a romantic long weekend!

This incredibly well kept cabin was the perfect getaway for my girlfriend and I. The cozy space was warm and ideal for cuddling up and enjoying the peacefulness of the area. We spent a few nights just looking up at the stars and then in the morning we were even allowed to go grab a couple delicious mandarins from their impressive garden! Jono and Kathy were fantastic hosts, ensuring our every need was met and making our stay truly exceptional. We highly recommend this charming cabin for anyone seeking a romantic retreat! We're looking forward to coming back in the summer!

Quiet oasis

This is a lovely B&B tucked in the mountains and surrounded by lush gardens. This space was perfect for a 2-night stay to kick off our trip to New Zealand! Kathy and Jono were lovely hosts who were easily contactable and provided us with everything we needed.

Sleeping Giant rest and relaxation

Room with an amazing view.

Great little place perfect for a weekend getaway. The room itself is small but has everything you need including large bed, toilet, shower. What it lacks in size is more than made up by the amazing garden and views on offer. Be more than happy just to stay and enjoy the surroundings. The place is a real credit Kathy and Jonno who are the perfect hosts. Would definitely recommend.

Great Host

When you need a coffee and the storm has taken out the power here comes Jono with a thermos of hot water. Welcome news that the generator will give us power. Superb host with great advise for sightseeing options. Lovely spot. Thank you.

Fantastic Place - Amazing Owners

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at a beautiful batch in Hikuai, New Zealand! The place was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Check-in was a breeze, the online listing was spot-on, and the property manager was super friendly and helpful. The location was stunning with mountains, greenery, and waterfalls to explore.
