Skippers Woods is a beautiful, spacious lodge-style home at The Homestead in Glen Arbor that sleeps 10 with 3 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa. You will love spending time at this peaceful retreat tucked in the woods and located only minutes from Lake Michigan and the Crystal River.

This home has a huge living room/dining room combination with a fireplace and tall windows throughout that provide gorgeous views of the woods. Off of the living room, step out onto the huge deck with a grill and seating. Depending on the season, there can be views of wildflowers and wildlife from the deck.

If you're looking for things to do, the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, and the Heritage Trail are just a few of the natural treasures in our area. There is also canoeing on the Crystal River and shopping in the many towns and villages in Leelanau County.

No pets allowed. Homestead amenities are not included.

Beautiful views - surrounded by trees

Nestled just off the road surrounded by trees the living room has massive windows on each side to enjoy the view. Master bedroom suite upstairs with views looking down into the valley. The kitchen was adequately equipped for cooking and a nice grill to use.

Great Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented the house for a girls weekend in January/February. The house fit the bill! It had everything we needed (except wash clothes - not one in the house lol). It had all all of the pans, kitchen appliances, utensils etc we could have needed. Comfy furniture and beautiful views out tons of windows. Our group thought the beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great. The only issue we had was a terrible squeak from a register vent fan that kept some of us up the first night but we shut it off after a call to the office the next morning and no noise after. It had a great location and not too far from wine tasting, places to eat and site seeing places that were on our list. We appreciated the large table for playing games and plenty of seating for when we wanted to just lounge and visit. We would rent the house again in a heartbeat!

Great Place to Stay!

We actually didn't know what we were getting because we got moved to this property instead of our original rental and it was even better than we could have imagined. Comfy beds, lots of space to spread out, a fantastic kitchen, lovely views...I could go on and on.

We had a great time, overall. Accessible place. Roomy. Minor glitches: BBQ ran out of fuel and badly needed cleaning. Temperature hard to control with programmable thermostats. Could use some extra blankets in the bedrooms for cold weather.

The refrigerator/freezer is huge!! We walked on the trails in the snow and ever walked on lake Michigan with frozen waves. Tons of wineries around - Lake Leeland and Glen Arbor. Tons to do anytime of year.

Beautiful property and nicely maintained, but problems with heat. The only complaint is that many of the Nest thermostats went down to 55 degrees after two hours making it unbearably cold at times in a very cold January

High quality cooking devices, excellent coffee pot, huge refrigerator & freezer, and other amenities. The large living room provided ample room for our family and friends to gather together. The road was packed snow and my van could not get up the hill. Luckily our Son-in-law's 4 wheel drive truck made it up the hill no problem.

Great house in beautiful wooded area

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home has wonderful views of the forest, as the windows are floor to ceiling. Despite the fact that it is in the trees, the expansive windows keep it light inside. The home layout was perfect for our family of 5... master bedroom upstairs, and two bedrooms as well as a lounge area in the basement. The basement provided our teens their own bedrooms, bath and lounge. The location in the Homestead is pretty, and a 5 minute drive to Glen Arbor or the beach. You can also walk to the beach in 10-15 minutes.

The sliding door did not lock that was a concern, called and reported it as soon as we discovered it. Unfortunately was not repaired while we were there. The driveway was on a hill, with a curve and short. There is a reason they said no more than 3 cars. I recommend not to follow too closely into the driveway. We would definitely stay again.

We Loved this property! It is a beautiful home! The living room area was so spacious and a great gathering place for all 10 of us! The windows all over provided a spectacular view of the wooded surroundings! The amenities were great! We found that the bedrooms accommodated us all comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed! Everything was very clean and well maintained. We also loved the location - so close to the hangout Whiskers- just a short walk! The management team was wonderful to work with. We would highly recommend this home for your Homestead stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we had a great stay at this home. We thought this house was very spacious with lots of room to gather. We had a great experience overall, and the location is very conveniently close to the town (only about a 5 minute drive into town).We have a few suggestions for a better stay;1. Deeper clean before the guests arrive. The home was not very clean when we arrived; the floors were covered in dirt, lamps were covered in spider webs, and you can just tell that the surfaces were not touched very well. We were hesitant to sit outside on the patio because it was covered in spider webs, bugs, and debris. We understand we were in the woods, but we believe it could have been touched before we arrived. Once we took the time to dust everything off ourselves, we enjoyed the space nightly. The trash bin was full when we arrived, but it was taken care of in a timely manner which we appreciated! 2. If there is no AC in the home, we’d appreciate working fans to cool down the space. Although having no AC was not a problem for us, a few of the fans were not in working condition so it was a little unpleasant in terms of the interior air flow and temperature. 3. The Primary Bedroom tv was not functioning. It was a minor detail but we weren’t able to enjoy the tv at a time where we would have liked to wind down in bed. Other than this feedback, we really enjoyed the home overall. We would recommend this place to family and friends if the above suggestions were looked at. This was a wonderful stay!

Reviewer Comments: The house was a good size, location, and setup. We enjoyed our stay. A couple things to note:House interior temperature was cold upon arrival check in. The home than took a while to get to a comfortable temperature. Fireplace was very drafty and the flue was not able to shut properly. - the was mice excrement found on downstairs bedding below the covers. We continued to find mouse droppings in basement during our stay in bedrooms and on the bathroom counter. - kitchen was missing hot pads to cook with. Coffee make brew took 30 minutes plus?
