We loved our stay at this gorgeous and well equipped villa. The house was everything we could have hoped for...the view fabulous...we were lucky enough to watch a full moon rise over the Massif de l'Esterel while sitting on the patio...the daytime vista was worthy of a Cezanne landscape. The nearby village of Callian was charming and a ready source of pain au chocolat for the kids' morning snack (grownups' too!).
This is a lovely, spacious holiday home. Two families with three teenagers between us stayed here for a fortnight in August 2021. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The living, cooking and dining areas were light and bright. although the ants in the kitchen were a little problematic. The outside space was gorgeous. There was a large swimming pool with wonderful views across the valley. Several different areas with tables and chairs to sit and eat. A great outdoor cooking space with a BBQ and plancher, sink and fridge.
Because this was almost at the end of a single track road leading out of the village the property was wonderfully quiet. There were no dogs barking. Only once did we hear someone else's music.
There are several supermarkets a few minutes drive away on the main road, a huge selection of boulangeries and several farmers' markets.
The pretty village of Callian was a 15 minute walk away. There were a couple of reasonable restaurants here. The villa was a good base to explore the other Mediaeval villages along the valley. Our favourite was Seillans, both for the attractiveness of the architecture and the quality of the restaurants.
Overall a good location, a spacious and comfortable house, a relaxing holiday.
The inside of the home is large and beautiful and it was very, very clean. I must have missed reading this when we originally booked the villa but the air conditioning in the living room and kitchen/dining area was an added bonus. All of the air conditioning units worked very well. The information in the printed booklet, along with additional typed sheets, was very helpful. We took full advantage of the recommendations for lunch and dinner and, in my opinion, all of the recommendations were spot on. Chloe met us when we arrived and when I asked her if the grass could be mowed (it was taller than the seats of the chairs in the lawn), she made sure to contact Brigitte and a man came out on Monday to cut it. The pool is very pretty and everyone enjoyed using it. Our only disappointment was the landscaping. It is sorely in need of maintenance. Tree limbs and overgrown bushes are in the way of the walking paths and seating areas and the flower beds have not been maintained. The final portion of the road to the villa is in very bad shape but I am sure that this is outside of the influence of the owner. The Var region is a beautiful area in Provence and it is well worth visiting.
Sängkläder i toppklass.
A very nice house with a great view. Everything as in the advert.
