About this property
Dog-friendly Lakefront Cottage w/ Hot Tub + WiFi + Firepit + Games + Near Trails
Relax and unwind at South Lake! Located less than 10 minutes away from the town of Minden, you'll love swimming off the 500 sq ft dock, exploring by canoe, all the best lawn games, stunning sunsets from the new fire pit, and a sky full of constellations. Perfect for families or friends to enjoy all of the comforts of a modern cottage without missing that rustic charm. Cozy up by the propane fireplace and play board games or watch TV/Netflix. High-speed internet is remote work-friendly!
Renovated and redecorated in 2020, enjoy a fully-loaded open-concept kitchen and dining room complete with a dishwasher and safe tap water, and living room with modern furniture, and a flat-screen TV to watch DVDs or Netflix. The elegant new bathroom with a deep tub will melt your worries away. Enjoy the view of the yard and lake from a screened Muskoka room and get your grill on with a direct propane hookup. Outdoors, enjoy 100ft of clear shoreline with shallow, sandy entry and a massive 500 sq ft dock. Gather around the new fire pit or share a meal at the oversized 12-foot picnic table.
Other things to note:
-There is a smart lock you can use to self-check in when you get there.
-I have a portable Bluetooth speaker you can take down the the yard to use.
-There's an ice maker on the kitchen counter that makes up to 26 lbs of ice per day
-The coffee maker is a FlexBrew so you can make a pot of ground coffee (normally provided) or use K-Cups (not provided)
- a BBQ with direct hookup to propane so you never have to worry empty tanks
- bunch of lawn games (Spikeball, ladder toss, bocce, Kan Jam)
-board games (Settlers of Katan, Taboo, Cards Against Humanity, Rush Hour, Codenames, a puzzle and some books). - There will be a bundle of firewood leaning up against the shed you can use as much of as you want. I can also give you the number of someone you can buy more wood from and pick up or have delivered.
- There's also a bylaw so no fires are allowed before 7pm - no idea why but I also don't want you to get fined.
- There's a full kitchen and dishwasher (please do your own dishes before you leave) and all the main cooking and bbq utensils you'd need.
- There are two 10-ft kayaks and a 14 ft canoe available for your use with a lifejacket. The paddles are hung up on the canoe rack and there are 2 large and 1 medium lifejacket in the storage bin beside the canoe rack - please bring your own if these will not fit you or if you need more.
- The water off the dock is only about chest height, so don't dive, but a shallow cannonball will work. The water gets deep about 20 ft further out. There's a thermometer tied to the stairs so you can check the water temperature.
- The cottage is also on a septic tank, so please only put toilet paper in it and while the water is unlimited, it's also not a good idea to have more than like 4-5 quick showers in a short time frame.
- The water is from the lake and goes through a UV filtration system so it's safe to drink.
- 3-night minimum stays on long weekends and Mon-Fri/Fri-Mon schedule during summer (Canada Day to Labour Day)
