Amazing spot, cutest little bach! Perfect for a weekend getaway with loved ones. Enjoyed the BBQ & the option to take out the dingy.
All around great stay & great place!
Great to get away from it all. Nice relaxing spot. Family enjoyed walking and playing in the lake and mud. Loved the kiwi crib atmosphere, it was lovely and cozy and we enjoyed playing the boardgames and watching DVD's at night. Such a short distance from Dunedin which is a bonus.
Very well-equipped kiwi bach with stunning water front views. We had an extremely relaxing weekend here. It was amazing to be able to bring our dogs as well, they had a lot of fun swimming in the lake.
Surprised that their were no sheets on bed and had an outside toilet. Cottage was well equipped and very cosy. Views were gorgeous and we really enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay, even though the weather didn’t play ball.
Bach is super well equipped, literally everything you could possibly want.
Will book again,
Unfortunately, due to my broken leg and then emergency surgery on it, we were unable to make our booking. Our host was wonderfully understanding and has agreed to allow us to rebook later in the year. Thank you, we are really looking forward to a stay.

The property was great! Very peaceful weekend for my family & I while we were there for the All Blacks game. Would love to return in the warmer months to make the most of the lake & the utilities that were available to us. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends & whānau.
Thank you very much!
Elderly heading south from Christchurch to Southland + 'two boys' ( our dogs).
Great location. Loved seeing the sun rise from the deck. Dogs secure when outside. For older persons, please warn about an outside loo. Lovely and cosy, I would love to come back although my husband is not so sure. So many 'paper roads' in the area - maps and GPS!!!! Explored the area towards Gabriel's Gully and back by a different route and found roads no longer exist - except tracks through farms....Wish I knew about fishing....Thank you.
Great, quiet spot. Didnt realise there was an outhouse - no biggy but I took my Dad who is not so well & unsteady on his feet and worried about him using toilet at night. Booked 3 nights but could only stay 2 due to my Dad needing to go to back into care.
Great wee Bach right on the lake, great for fishing or just reading a book on the porch. Unfortuately there was an accident with the water pipe falling down leaving us with no water and having to leave earlier. No fault of anyone’s just one those things. Owner has offered a refund which was great. Thanks for letting us stay
It is a real kiwi bach or crib. Not luxurious but as the pictures portray it is comfortable and in a beautiful location. We arrived on the Friday late afternoon, the conditions for fishing were absolutely perfect. The next day was alright, a bit cooler but still we were able to be outdoors. This area has heaps of history, well worth taking the time to explore. The people in this little settlement are friendly, I definitely did not get the same feeling in the Waipori Village itself. It is very quaint crib and one that I am planning to use again.
We loved our stay. This Bach has the best location. The Lakeview is amazing. Bach warms fast once the fire is going. Our dog loved it, he was disappointed when we packed up and came back home.
the weather was kind and we really enjoyed the remoteness and peace. good spot would like to stay for longer next time if we could

About the host

We bought this crib 7 years ago to make memories which we have made plenty. We decided to rent it out when we were not using it so that others could have a break away that would not break the bank. We are pleased that most have respected our lovely bach and enjoyed the region.
Why they chose this property
It is only 45 to 55 minutes out of Dunedin. All you have to do is bring your food, towels and toiletries. It is priced so everyone can afford a stay and you can bring your house trained dog. The fishing is at your door and there are many features around the area.
