Saddlers House began it's life as a purveyor of leather goods in the late 1800's, specializing in shoe making. It has just undergone a creative restoration and houses 4 high end 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartments right in the city centre amongst cafes, restaurants and specialty shops. Just a short stroll to the waterfront and opposite the Sunday Farmers Market.
The Vintage Suite is a top floor apartment overlooking Elizabeth Street, and is a relaxing haven accessed via a lift. With interiors combining the original building fabric with modern facilities including gourmet kitchen, cosy lounge, stylish bathrooms and contemporary bedrooms, you'll have a memorable stay.
The Space:
The apartments retain many original features including polished floorboards and feature brick walls, which adds to the ambience of the apartments and makes for a unique experience, in a vibrant part of town.
Each individual apartment has been furnished and equipped with guest comfort in mind, from the comfy, airconditioned lounge room, high quality bedding that can be setup as either a queen and 2 singles or 2 queen beds.
Each apartment includes a luxurious ,deep freestanding bath so you can relax and unwind after an adventurous day of activities in and around Hobart.
The Vintage Suite is located at the front of the building on the second floor with views across Elizabeth Street and the city. It also offers skylit interiors, laundry facilities including a washer/dryer, smart TV and fast internet. There is also the option to offer the apartments side by side to allow for larger families or groups subject to availability.
The perfect place to stay whether you're in Hobart for business or pleasure.
Guest Access:
Guests have full use of the apartment for the duration of their stay.
The Neighborhood:
You're right in the heart of the city, yet the apartments are such a peaceful haven. In this part of the city you'll enjoy the many dining and shopping options, with a great selection of local restaurants and eateries right on your doorstep. The popular Criterion Street cafes are just a stones through away, offering the best coffee and breakfast in town, with outdoor tables and a friendly, relaxed feel. If you love your Tassie produce, the farmers market on Sundays is a must do, and is located on Bathurst Street just a minute from the apartments. If you're after some great Tassie wine, then go and see Tim at Cool Wine just across the road.
If you like to explore on foot, It's just an easy stroll to the wharf precinct, Botanic Gardens, Aquatic and Tennis Centre and Brooke Street Pier (MONA ferry).
Getting Around:
You don't really need a car, most of the city attractions are within a walk, however if you are driving, paid parking is available in the Vodafone Centre on the corner of Bathurst and Argyle or Hobart Central carpark (first 1.5 hours free), just a 2 minute walk away. Or parking overnight on the street is free.
Other Things to Note:
The default bedding setup is queen and 2 singles. If you require 2 queen beds we will need to know this when you make your reservation. There are also 3 other apartments, so if you have a larger group travelling together, then subject to availability, we can cater for larger families or groups up to 8 guest per floor (16 in total) in the 4 x 2 bedrooms apartments.
If you require a porta cot this is available on request at the time of booking
It is a condition of booking that furniture not be moved from it's original position during your stay
Interaction with Guests:
We leave guests to enjoy the apartment in privacy, however we are locals, so are available if you need us.
