DO NOT RENT FROM DESTINATION BIG BEAR!
TAKE MY ADVICE - DO NOT RENT ANY PROPERTY MANAGED BY THIS COMPANY, Destination Big Bear. Worst property rental company I have ever experienced. And if you are listing a home, go with another company. I don't work in real estate and have no affiliation with any other company of this type. I just hate being ripped off and treated horribly when I spend money to enjoy a vacation. There is not enough room to describe all of the problems in detail, but here are a few bulletpoints: 1) At check-in, we were given wrong info, 2 times by 2 different employees, about how to get into the property. This made us waste over an hour trying to get in, and then had us driving back and forth to the office to get keys that didn't exist (you enter by keypad, not keys), etc. 2) In the fine print, this company tells you to walk thru the entire property as soon as you get there and email them photos of anything broken. If you don't, they won't believe you later and might even blame you for breaking it. Anyone who has ever been alive or gone anywhere knows that you can't possibly know about every problem at any property until you have spent a little time there and tried using everything. But we did our best and took pictures and videos of the various problems like broken closet doors (one glass sliding door literally fell onto my back while i was standing in front of it because it was completely off the rails), broken front door chain lock, etc. But this is a horrible way to have to start a vacation - I've never seen this before. 3) One of the main features we wanted was an outdoor hot tub, but the hot tub wouldn't heat. Only way to turn on the heat was by turning on the jets, but the jets kept turning off by themselves. So I called maintenance and THE NEXT DAY, a guy came out around 4:30 pm. He checked it and said it was broken (it's supposed to heat even without the jets on because the jets are on a 20 minute timer). But to get it fixed, he had to put in a repair order for the next day (our second to last). The next day, nobody ever showed up. So we had no hot tub use. Of note, the rental office said it would heat up in 1-2 hrs...the hot tub guy said it actually takes about 24 HOURS to heat that jacuzzi up, and that the rental office always gives the wrong info about that. 4) BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, EVERY SINGLE PERSON I DEALT WITH WAS SO RUDE AND DEFENSIVE, TALKED DOWN TO ME AND ARGUED WITH ME. Maybe if they did a better job, they would have fewer issues to deal with.
