"Robyn's Nest" is a beautiful heritage conversion lovingly decorated with bohemian and mid-century modern accents (and local art). The apartment is located in the Oriental, one of the first hotels in Victoria's Old Town District, originally built in the 1800s. The Oriental is an excellent example of a late nineteenth century Victorian Italiante hotel, with distinct ground-storey arches made possible by the use of cast-iron columns - one of which is featured inside the apartment itself, next to the unique hanging rattan chair.
Throughout the loft you'll find tons of unique touches and details to help make your stay more enjoyable (and memorable).
The kitchen comes fully equipped with spices and all the tools you need to cook up a feast, including supplies for the BBQ on the roof-top deck.
The main floor is spacious and inviting and includes:
- a pull-out sofa for you or your guests
- a lovely dining nook with one-of-a-kind fern chandelier
- a cozy fireplace
- an amazing 55" HD smart TV equipped with Netflix and Amazon Prime
- a hanging rattan chair perfect for reading, relaxing and gazing out the windows
- a trendy bar with cocktail mixing kit
- a selection of boardgames and cards
- a 3-piece washroom
The upper loft is warm and cozy, complete with king-size bed, twinkle lights, and hanging edison bulbs, all designed to make you feel like royalty.
Access to the loft is through a funky gated alleyway, complete with courtyard, while the roof-top deck is accessed through another funky alleyway in the building itself. The hallways of the building also featured exposed brick and steel columns, all from the original Oriental Hotel.

About the host
Hosted by Robyn Laing

My name is Robyn, and my partner and I are both obsessed with travel, and living in different places around the world. He works for the UN and I own my own remote-based business, so we completely understand the "digital nomad" and "remote worker" life! We are offering up our own apartments while we live abroad, and have outfitted them with everything we wish we had in our "nomad nests" while abroad.

Why they chose this property
I have always dreamed of owning a character property with tall ceilings, large windows, and brick - and I've always dreamed of owning a loft - this property had both! I fell in love the moment I saw it, and immediately got to work transforming it into a boho-chic oasis. I hope you love it as much as I do.
It is located in the absolute best part of Victoria, smack in the middle of OldTown in Downtown, Victoria. All the best restaurants, cocktail bars, and boutique shops are quite literally right outside your front door, and the waterfront is at the end of the street 2 minute walk away. This is THE best place to be based for your work trip or longer vacation in BC's capital city!
