Everything was just great for our stay; appreciated the cleanliness, comfortable beds, kitchen amenities and access to the community activities in the Ladysmith area. !
What a beautiful environment to find yourself in! Within a half hour, you can find beautiful hikes, a cute town with cute shops, and of course the wonder of the ocean. The house was perfect for us and we enjoyed our time in the area.

Enjoyable
Our stay was very nice. The location is what drew me to the property. The only thing I was not happy with was that the pots and pans were not clean and that I had to wash them before use. I think that was others who have stayed at this VRBO not being respectful. I don't think the hosts should have to pull out all the pots and pans to check that they are clean. The place had some idiosyncrasies, which just made it more charming. Thanks for the stay!

Beautiful area
Beautiful area very close to the ocean yard was gorgeous. Great time had by all. . The house could definitely use a major clean not enough toilet paper. Bedding could definitely be changed out for new as the old looked dirty and unwashed. Also, the alarm on the house went off in the middle of the evening no code to shut it off. Kind of frustrating.
We had an incredible week staying at Lyle's place and couldn't wish for anything more.
The house itself was perfectly sized although we spent almost all our time on the deck or in the back yard - we barely used the living or dining area.
The location was exactly was pretty remote - a good 15 minutes drive from Ladysmith, but exactly what we were looking for.
The beach was a 2 minute walk and, although pretty rocky, the water was lovely and warm - perfect for a daily swim.
All in all perfect vacation property for the perfect vacation.
We had the best time! Host is very accommodating and was super helpful. Location is perfect for exploring all of Vancouver Island and the near town of Ladysmith is quaint and wonderful. We will definitely be staying again.
We live in a rural location in another area of Canada, and this house was a real home from home for us. Far from the maddening crowd for sure, with a quiet and easy walk to/from the beach and around the local area.
We really appreciated how responsive the owner, Lyle, was to any questions we had.
Previous commenters mention problems with the internet, but just before we moved in, modifications were made and the internet was 100% perfect throughout our stay. There was sufficient signal strength to reach every room and out on the deck/balcony. It was also fast enough to allow four of us to use our phones, a laptop, and streaming to the TV without problem. The TV in the living room is a smart TV, but we brought our own Roku box as it has all our logins setup already.
One word of advice is to bring your food and drink supplies to the house with you, so you don't have to immediately drive back to town, like we had to!
We would stay here again.

Large house, but no water access
Pictures imply this house is ocean front - it is NOT. There is a road and another house with a high hedge between this deck & water (which is not public access). There is a small peek-a-boo waterview down their driveway from this deck.
Yard is overgrown & also needs motion sensor lights.
Beds were large & comfy. Bedrooms are opposite sides of the house.
House is huge and each room is spacious. House is bright, especially in morning sun.
Be aware there are 3 short flights of stairs within the house (ie: livingrm to bdrm has a set of stairs)
Recommend the host create an information book (including a map to the waterfront park)
The location was lovely!!!
The home is an interesting layout. It seemed to be under renovation, which wasn’t mentioned, but also wasn’t an issue… our son is older so he was fine around the materials.
However, the sun deck is glorious day and night, the location is ideal for paddle boarding and kayaking, the table is large which is nice for puzzles or games. It was just the three of us but we really enjoyed the large eating area, slightly rare in holiday rentals. The living room is ideal for a little late night movie, the tenant downstairs is very private and we nearly didn’t notice her at all. We’d definitely stay here again despite the very minor hiccups.
Nice, truly 'homey' place in a great little town - but far enough from town to feel remote. Lyle was very responsive to my questions, and helpful when I asked about find a tire repair shop.
Everything in the house was functional and neat. Comfortable but not brand new and delicate. Perfect for my needs. It was quiet most of the time, give or take the neighbors who communicate by screaming at each other (teenagers...). The peek a boo view of the water was great. Hearing the eagles and seagulls was delightful. We even had a fledgling bald eagle on the ground in the front yard!
Wifi is, as others mentioned, spotty.
There was a tenant downstairs, so it's something to keep in mind if you are a noisy guest and want to be respectful...or you want to take your dogs out in your pj's. But I never heard them and only saw their vehicle and their kitty looking out at my dogs.
I was incredibly grateful to be able to bring my dogs to escape fireworks week at home. The grass was super overgrown so it was challenging to tromp through to clean up after them but all in all it was a great experience and I'm ready to book for next year!

Quiet nice spot
Great location - quiet, good walking options for dog and short walk to beach.
Wifi very spotty (owner said he’s making a change to fix)
Neighbours were all friendly.
Enough parking space for 2 vehicles.
Wasn’t clean when we arrived but was late so just grabbed fresh linens from closet and found some pillows to make up the beds.
Otherwise a great spot to stay.
We rented this property for 3 nights for a getaway. This was the perfect spot as its in a quiet neighborhood with a beach park 5 min walk away. The house was very clean and well maintained. We had few minor issues -
1. The internet connection was very patchy. It kept getting disconnected throughout the day.
2. I felt the property manager could have been better about the communications. I had to reach out to him/her about the access code, wifi details, checkout procedures etc. It would have been good if they had all these details printed out in the house for the gues to review. Having said that they were were prompt with their replies whenever we asked questions.
But overall a great house for a laid back vacation with family .
This property was dirty and so hot. Bathrooms had tons of hair everywhere. Could not even shower or take a bath. Only stayed for two days out of 15 and was charged for the two days, admin fees and cleaning fees. Advertised as amazing ocean view, not sure about that. No extra fans in house, only a few windows to open as the others had no screens on them. Not happy with vbro or owner. I would never stay here.
