Great house and super convenient for skiing!
We spent four nights over February break at this house with another family and it was terrific for everything we needed. The main living area with the open kitchen was large enough for all of us to be together for meals and lounging, and the house seems to have been recently updated too, which gave everything a nice feel as well. The kitchen was well stocked, the foyer/mudroom has plenty of cubbies and hooks for ski gear, and the front deck has a table and chairs where you can take in a wonderful view-- we took advantage with some apres ski cocktails on one of the warmer afternoons! The Morning Glory ski trail can be easily accessed from the house, which made coming back for lunch or any other break super convenient. One note though: While it is technically "ski in/ski out", skiing in requires a bit of a hike from the trail to get up to the house, and skiing out has you crossing two roads: The road the house is on, and Saddleback Mountain Rd. which is the main road up to the base area. It was a little disappointing to discover it wasn't slopeside ski in/ski out and that there were road crossings involved, but in the end we got used to it, and it wasn't a huge deal. Still so much better than packing up the car every morning and getting ready in the lodge with the crowds. A tip for any snowboarders too-- the Morning Glory trail below the house is pretty flat with a lot of pushing required. Considering that, as well as how slow the South Branch chair lift is, it's actually much faster (and less aggravating) to walk up to the lodge/base area. It only takes about 15' and I was consistently 10-15' faster than the skiers getting to the base of the Rangeley Quad. All in all it was a great week-- Lovely house, really well suited for a winter stay, and the Morton & Furbish crew is top notch and makes everything easy. And don't be deterred by the comments about the logistics...those are more a heads up for future renters than actual negatives; we would definitely rent this house again!

Best Mountain Rental Ever!
This home was VERY clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The furniture was very nice and we loved some of the rustic touches which definitely made us feel like we were in Maine. The home was exactly as pictured and described. The ski in, ski out was convenient and we didn't have to use our car to access the mountain. We will surely be back. Thank you so much for a memorable trip!

Amazing, secluded spot in the mountains
Went for a surprise getaway with my boyfriend for his birthday and had his family and a couple friends come up for the weekend. The view was gorgeous and the sunsets were unreal. Also went to a couple shops and restaurants 10 minutes down the road, it was great!

Beautiful location, remote enough to enjoy the peace and quiet while also close enough to town. Will definitely be back again!

We stayed with a group of 7 at this house. Very comfortable for us. It was very clean and well equipped with everything to cook. Very close to Saddleback, we had lunch at the pub which food was great. Nice and quiet area. We all had a great time, enjoyed the house very much.

I stayed at the Hilltop rental and did visit this property we rented for other guests for a wedding at Saddleback. There were guests ranging from 6 months to 87 years old. Primarily on one level was helpful and the spread out bed rooms allowed for quiet when needed. A co up ole comments; radio did no work, one light bulb was out I believe some of the bedrooms lacked a chair. Other than that, the guests were pleased.

Great house at Saddleback
We had a fantastic stay at the Magalloway loop house. Saddleback never disappoints. The property was beautiful and had a great common space to hang out while we weren’t skiing. Can’t wait visit Rangeley again next winter!

Constructive criticism
Good morning. I have nothing really negative to say but just a few things that could be improved on. Probably the biggest was the difficulty of the ski in ski out aspect. The magalloway trail off Hudson was not groomed. One of our party went in with his son and quickly found the ungroomed trail three feet deep. Let's just say they were tired by the time they made it through. Also the ski out section was hard for the little ones as it's mostly flat. We were not unhappy with the situation but we would have taken other options to get to and from the mountain. So really just a little more in the description saying it might not suit small children. Second was the hot water. With the four bedrooms I would suggest a bigger tank or a better system. I thought I saw an on demand but we had to stagger the showers when we got done skiing as two showers were about it. The plowing could have been detailed in the binder as we didn't know how to situate cars and such. The snow shovel was buried in the bank but luckily we brought one with us. Only one shovel wide path to the door was shoveled. Again, we were completely happy and very satisfied with our stay. Just letting you know those things. Thanks very much. We will be back up. Maybe this year! Ben Falla

The house was lovely and perfect for our family. The kids thought it was great to have a place to ski in and out to the mountain. The only thing that we would recommend is bringing a boot and mitten rack. Can't wait to return to the house next year.
