About this property

Cub’s Cove | Hot Tub + Pool Table! Near Downtown

Cub’s Cove may look like your typical log cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains. But while it offers plenty of down-home charm and cozy comfort, this one-bedroom getaway also has more than its share of modern-day conveniences and luxuries.

For instance, it’s a sure bet that the original mountain settlers didn’t have a spacious hot tub on their porch from which they could admire the Smokies! That’s right: You can start your day watching the sunrise amid the singing of the wrens and warblers as you soak among the mountain breeze. Or you can end your evening in the tub with that special someone as you gaze up among constellations you never noticed back home.

There’s a jetted tub indoors as well, part of the primary suite. When you return to the cabin after a day of hiking, skiing, rafting, or golfing, your tired muscles will really relish a long bath among the pulsing jets.

And let’s not forget about the pool table up in the loft-level game room—just the thing for a rainy day or a laid-back evening in—or the cabin’s internet access, or the satellite TV, or the DVD players… yes, it’s safe to say that the likes of Abe Lincoln wouldn’t recognize this log cabin!

The interior is decorated in pure rustic refinement. The wood floors and paneled walls perfectly complement the warm earth tones of the furnishings and accessories. The living room sofa is wonderfully plush for snuggling in front of the gas fireplace in its stone surround or for sprawling out to watch a movie on the 50” flat-panel TV. The sofa opens into a bed for 2—and quite a comfortable one at that, thanks to its deluxe memory foam mattress—so that Cub’s Cove can sleep 4 people in all.

If you think the sofa bed’s comfortable, wait until you glaze atop the king-size bed in the primary suite. It's Simmons Beautyrest Plush Foam mattress may just give you the best sleep of your life; it’s also perfect for stretching out and watching the 31” wall-mounted TV or simply gazing at the towering trees outside the window.

The kitchen and dining area offers amazing views as well. Even the simplest sandwich will taste like haute cuisine when enjoyed at the dining table, which seats 4 and overlooks the front porch and the mountains. That said, the kitchen is equipped with a full culinary shop’s worth of appliances, cookware, and tableware, so if you want to channel your inner Gordon Ramsey or Alton Brown, you can. If you’d rather barbecue every night, you’ll love the outdoor charcoal grill. Perhaps best of all: Cub’s Cove even has a dishwasher—no need to waste precious vacation time scrubbing plates!

And if your idea of a vacation is not cooking at all, you’re in luck, because Cub’s Cove is only a 5-minute drive from downtown Gatlinburg. There you can choose from steak, seafood, barbecue, pizza… you’ll even find Tennessee’s first pancake house there, as well as an aquarium, mini golf, and a host of other attractions.

In addition, the cabin is mere minutes from the main entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls, and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk. Also conveniently close is the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an 8-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and craft shops offering everything from stained glass to chainsaw art, custom knives to pottery. And because Cub’s Cove is part of the Black Bear Falls Log Home Community, in the summer you can take advantage of the resort’s heated adult and kids’ swimming pools.

However you plan to spend your days, you’ll relish having delightful Cub’s Cove to return to. Don’t miss out: Make your reservation today, and start preparing for your best vacation yet!

Family of 4

Cabin was beautiful and clean, just right the size for a family of 4. Our two kids (10 & 14) slept on the pullout sofa and slept great! Playing pool was a little challenging (limited room) but still a good time! Hot tub was clean and the view was nice! Our stay was pleasant, we will definitely be back!

Nice

Even though you are among lots of other cabins, you just feel secluded. Really appreciate the curtains on the edge of the porch to close if we wanted to.

Relaxing Family Vacation

Our family of 4 stayed at this property. It was perfect for our needs. It’s a great location that’s close to everything, but also secluded enough that it’s quiet and relaxing. Also, the amenities like the swimming pool area are great for children. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Stay in Gatlinburg

Home was very nice. Some minor issues like batteries dead in remotes, broken bedside lamp, only one kitchen towel, and too much chlorine in hot tub, but we were able to accommodate and our stay was relaxing, restful, and cozy. Loved the fireplace!

The cabin was clean, cozy, more than what I expected, and private. The atmosphere around the cabin was beautiful and clean. It was also peaceful.

Quiet and Perfect Oasis

This is a beautiful wall appointed little cabin. Perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to enjoy all the activities the perfect place to wake up in the morning on your balcony to start the morning with a cup of coffee, overlooking the mountains, as well as nd the day after a long hike in the hot tub.

Cute cabin!

Very nice cabin, super clean and cozy with easy access to the shops and restaurants. Our only hiccup was we had to contact Jackson Mountain homes for the check-in information. It wasn’t sent to us by check-in time but was sent immediately after we called. Would definitely stay there again and would also rent with Vrbo/Jackson Mountain Homes again.

Beautiful cabin

Spent 5 nights over Memorial Day weekend. For whatever reason our code to get into the cabin was changed at the very last minute. The code did not work. Made several calls and after about 30 minutes or so we were finally able to get into the cabin, we still had no code. Maintenace came by the next morning(unannounced). He was kind and gracious and was able to get the door code(original) working. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. View from the porch/deck were beautiful. As we were getting ready to leave a little cub started to come up on the porch until it realized that my wife was sitting there. Both were startled.

Cozy yet the pictures are deceiving.

Some cob webs on the wall and dust of course I know places have dust but the cob webs come on. The internet did not work and the shower did not drain well. There’s was a wipe of some sort left on the shower rod. But other than that we enjoyed the views and our friends at their cabin just up the way.

Perfect weekend getaway

My boyfriend and I were looking for a relaxing weekend getaway. Cubs cove provided the perfect spot. Conveniently located to gatlinburg if you want to enjoy the town or you can hit the grocery store that’s 5 minutes away and spend your entire trip in the cabin and hot tub. My only complaints are minimal. I wish I would have brought my own pillows. Theirs were a bit worn out. Also don’t plan on being able to stream a movie using the wifi. You’re in the mountains, I should have thought about that before the trip. Overall the trip was exactly what we were looking for!!!

Decent Stay

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights here. Overall the experience was decent, however we encountered a few frustrations. There was an issue getting the entry code that took a little bit to resolve as there was no clear number to call; just text. Additionally, we noticed mold on the window in the bathroom, we found a previous guests’ shirt by the bed, and the kitchen came with the bare minimum. There were no coffee filters, spices, or things of that nature. Lastly, if you are looking for a secluded place this is NOT it! We were woken every morning by leaf blowers (one day it was even rainy so that made no sense!), and cabins nearby are close enough we could hear people sitting on their patios talking or kids being loud. Overall a decent stay but probably won’t return.

CUTE LITTLE MOUNTAIN CABIN

We stayed in this cabin for 10 days in the middle of September. Overall, it was a great place. It was clean, and, according to my husband, had wonderful TV reception/picture. The hot tub was lovely, and the view is great! The bedroom and bath are both more than adequate for two people, and we found the bed comfortable. They provide plenty of towels, and a washer/dryer combination. As someone else said, there are a few things that you need to be aware of if you stay here. First of all, it IS designed for 2 people. Yes, it can accommodate 4 (with 2 on the sleeper sofa), but in reality, it is small enough that I think 4 people would be getting on each others nerves after any length of time. Also, the utensils, dishes and pot and pans are really aimed at 2 people. I can't imagine trying to cook a meal for more than 2 people there. There isn't really any closet space ( the one closet in the home houses the vacuum, and extra bedding.) M y biggest complaint was the seating. There are 4 chairs at the kitchen table, but they are all hard wood, with no cushions. The sofa was very hard, so much so that I found it difficult to sit on for any length of time. That is the sum total of options for places to sit on the main floor. This makes relaxing in the evening rather difficult, (if you have short legs and a bad back, as I do), unless you intend to spend the ENTIRE evening out on the porch! Again, these are NOT meant as harsh criticism, but rather more of a FYI. If you are young, (and tall), you probably would never even notice. I did like that everything I needed was on one level, from the driveway to the living room to the bedroom. All in all, this is a charming little place to get away from it all!

Lovely cabin and mountain views

We enjoyed our stay very much. The mountain views, from the porch and the hot tub, we're gorgeous. We sat in the hot tub with cups of coffee and watched the sun come up over the mountains. The cabin was clean, warm, and cozy. We cooked most of the time, and the kitchen was well-stocked with cooking equipment. We will definitely stay again.
