About this property

Bear's Den | Wooded View, Hot Tub, 1mi to Downtown

A stay at Bear’s Den is the stuff happy memories are made of. Tucked away among towering trees, the two-bedroom log cabin is a woodland wonderland, yet it's less than five minutes from the excitement of downtown Gatlinburg.

As soon as you drive up to Bear’s Den, you’ll be charmed. It looks exactly as a mountain log cabin should. A large covered front porch spans the width of the home, with wooden rockers and log stools inviting you to kick back, take a deep breath of fresh mountain air, and unwind among the sunshine and the singing of the birds. The only thing that could make the porch even more inviting is a hot tub—and there it is, a roomy hot tub! Relaxation is practically guaranteed!

Bear’s Den is just as wonderfully calm and rustic inside. The great room glows with burnished wood-planked walls, floor and vaulted ceiling. The leather sofa and the armchairs are as comfortable as they are handsome, the gas fireplace will be especially welcome after a day of skiing and snowboarding, and there’s loads of room for the kids to sprawl out on the floor with their toys and games. Oops, did you forget to bring the games? No worries, Bear’s Den has several shelves of board games for the whole family to play. You can play a different one every night after dinner at the oak dining table, which seats six guests.

Because Bear’s Den is so close to downtown, you’ll have scores of restaurants just outside your doorstep. But sometimes nothing’s as cozy as enjoying a family dinner in, which is why the cabin has a fully equipped kitchen. A refrigerator and oven/stove, microwave, gadgets, cookware and tableware: you’ll find everything you need right here. And that includes a dishwasher so that there’s no bickering over whose turn it is to wash the dishes.

Bear’s Den has two en-suite bedrooms, one on the main floor and the second upstairs in the loft. Each has a king-size bed, plenty of storage, a ceiling fan and its own full bathroom. The loft suite is a true haven. For one thing, it’s the only room upstairs, so you’ll have maximum privacy. For another, it has a 32-inch flat-screen TV with a DVD player and, even better, a private jetted tub. When you return from white-water rafting, golfing, or walking every square inch of Dollywood, you might want to make a beeline straight for a soothing soak.

Among the cabin’s other amenities are free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a washer and dryer and a gas grill so that you can enjoy a Smoky Mountain barbecue. When you arrive, you’ll find plenty of clean towels, the beds perfectly made up and extra bedding too. There are even hair dryers in the bathrooms, and if you have additional guests, you can open up the great room’s sofa—voilà, a bed for two more!

Perhaps the cabin’s greatest convenience is its location. It’s so close to about everything Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have to offer. In just a few minutes you can drive to the Guinness World Records Museum, an aquarium, mini golf and more of downtown’s attractions. Tack on another couple of minutes, and you’re at Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area or the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where you can hike, bike or ride horses among wildflowers, waterfalls and wildlife ranging from elk to bears. Dollywood, outlet shopping, the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, fishing, ziplining, concert venues, golf and more are all within easy reach.

It’s impossible to be bored when you stay at Bear’s Den. Even a rainy day indoors will be packed with fun and laughter. And isn’t that what a family vacation is all about? So book your stay today, and get ready to make some wonderful memories.

Awful Management Company
This review is of Jackson Mountain Rentals, not this cabin. We booked our stay prior to Hurricane Helene. A lot of what we wanted to see was damaged by the storm so we contacted the company to see about cancelling or modifying our plans. I contacted them prior to the no refund date but got zero sympathy to us not wanting to visit an area that was damaged by the storm. I understand that policies are policies, but that company created the policy and can make exceptions when the situation calls for it. I do not recommend doing business with this company as I’ve seen similar reviews elsewhere.

Get away
Close to everything, easy to find. Parking is not for the elderly. The cabin is sweet and comfortable.. the hot tub was exactly what we needed at the end of the day. The down stairs bathroom needs some TLC. More towels would be amazing. Over all it’s a nice place !!

Bear’s Den cabin is very nice, clean, well prepared
Our only issue is that Seniors and people with disabilities should be aware that the cabin is on a very steep hill and parking is very limited ( only 1 car is able to park with relatively flat access to the porch steps. Any other cars have to park down a steep hill. We had 20 bear sightings around the cabin and our cars.

Trip
The stay was nice over all. There were a few things that stood out. Most of the outlets were loose that the plugs wouldn't stay in them. The master bathroom toilet was wobbly and noticed what looked like duct tape sticking out from under it. The last thing was that the jets on thr hot tub didn"t work very well. The location was great and overall the cabin was cute.

Beautiful scenery!
The property was great and it provided us with a comfortable, relaxing vacation. The only thing that I would suggest is to replace the main floor bathroom toilet. It rocks and leaks a little. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your vacation home!!

Bears Den
Great cabin! Clean and the kitchen had everything you needed. Close to town but what made it for us were all the bears! I would advise people to lock their cars because they open car doors. The only thing is they should put a gate at entrance to porch

So much to do in Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge that we were bear-ly there. Saw 5 bears in our stay. Grandchildren really enjoyed it.

Only negative is the parking. Driveway too narrow for two vehicles. We used the parking on the street below, but the steep walk back and forth was challenging for our age and mobility issues.

Bears Den Paradise
Upon arrival to the Bears Den we were greeted by a Mama bear and her 2 adorable cubs. She proceeded to get into the back of my Pathfinder and help herself to anything she wanted. Haha. She did destroy my purse looking for something, we are not sure what. So when you arrive when you are unloading. Close up your car each time. She didn’t hurt anything and we enjoyed seeing her thru out our stay. The cabin is gorgeous and is packed with anything you will need. The location is perfect. It’s close to a lot of popular activities. Our lifelong friends, along with us would highly recommend this amazing cabin. Loved it!!

Lives Up To Its Name!
Beautiful cabin and convenient to downtown. Nicely furnished with plenty of amenities and well supplied kitchen. Very clean and maintained. Quiet neighborhood too. We saw mama bear and her three little cubs in the first half hour of our arrival so The Bears Den is a perfect name. Our only complaint is that this property has an alarm system and none of our correspondence with Jackson Mountain rentals told us that there was an alarm nor gave us the code to turn it off. The nice Gatlinburg police officer that responded to the alarm helped us shut the alarm system down and stated it happens at this property all the time.

Bears Den
Upon entering the property with provided code, a home security system went off. No code was provided. Alarm was upsetting and we felt pressure to disarm it. Police arrived shortly after we got ahold of property manager. Hot tub had very little jet pressure. Very disappointing.

Great visit to the Smokies
The property was perfect for our group of 4. Cozy and clean. We did have an issue with the toilet and maintenance fixed it right away. We saw several bears from our cabin. Even a mama and her 4 cubs! Yes, the driveway is crazy steep, but we got used to it. The location was great for getting to Gatlinburg and the park. All in all a great trip!

Short but sweet getaway
This cabin is a great place to stay with family or friends. 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, extra jacuzzi tub, pull out sofa sleeper, and hot tub. We had 4 but could probably sleep 6 comfortably. Kitchen is very well stocked and clean. You’ll need to bring your own coffee and cooking spices, but other than that this cute place has everything you’ll need. Saw several bears in driveway and backyard.
