About this property

Highpoint Escape | Game Room + Hot Tub & Serene Mtn Views!

There’s so much to love about Highpoint Escape, we don’t know where to begin! Mountain views, three en-suite primary bedrooms, two decks, an outdoor hot tub, a billiard table, free access to swimming pools in the summer, free WiFi—and it’s all less than ten minutes from downtown Gatlinburg.

The three-story log home boasts two covered rear decks that look out over woodlands toward the Great Smoky Mountains. You can savor the views, the crisp breeze, and the singing of chickadees in the morning and whip-poor-wills at night, while kicking back in one of the wood rockers: Relaxation is guaranteed! Another option is to figuratively soak up the scenery while literally soaking in the main deck’s hot tub. Especially after you’ve spent the day hiking, white-water rafting, skiing, or shopping every one of Pigeon Forge’s outlet stores, the massaging jets of steamy water will feel so rejuvenating.

Thanks to a multitude of windows, the main floor’s living/dining area lets you relish the blue-tinged mountains, the towering trees, and the endless sky as well. The living area’s leather sofas practically beg you to sit back and stretch out. In winter the golden glow of the stone-surround gas fireplace makes the room even more inviting, if possible. Gather the whole gang together to watch a movie on the 55” flat-panel TV with cable and DVD player or to play Uno at the dining table, which seats eight with ease.

Downstairs is another welcoming gathering spot: the game room. Along with another 55” flat-panel TV, it includes a pool table and a multigame four-player arcade. The game room’s sofa, along with one of the living room sofas, opens into a bed for two. If you’re vacationing with kids, we have a sneaky suspicion they’ll want to make this their bedroom!

You can really work up an appetite shooting pool and playing arcade games. Luckily, Highpoint Escape has a kitchen on the main floor, with all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you need to feed hungry gamers—or even to host a holiday feast. There’s a charcoal grill outside as well, for the barbecue aficionados in your group.

Each of Highpoint Escape’s three floors has its own primary bedroom with bathroom, a layout that makes the home as well suited for several couples traveling together as for a large family. Each bedroom has a king-size bed, a 32” TV, a ceiling fan, plenty of storage, and a view of the mountains. The upstairs suite does have one advantage: Because it’s the only room on the loft level, it offers maximum privacy. Then again, the other bedrooms offer the advantage of being just a few steps away from a deck. Really, there’s no pulling the short straw when it comes to choosing bedrooms!

Because Highpoint Escape is part of the 43-acre Black Bear Falls Log Home Community, when you stay here you can take advantage of the resort’s two heated swimming pools, one of which is a kiddie pool, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. No matter what time of year you visit, though, you’ll have more than enough things to do and sites to see. For starters, no trip to the area is complete without exploring—on foot, on bike, on horseback, or by car—the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is just minutes away. Then there’s the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an 8-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and shops. Downtown Gatlinburg’s attractions range from an aquarium to a multi-floor arcade to the Guinness World Records Museum. And just slightly farther afield are Dollywood and the music revues of Pigeon Forge.

No matter how you spend your days and nights, you’ll love having Highpoint Escape as your home away from home. Don’t miss out; book your stay today. We can’t wait to see you!

A Great Place to Stay
Perfect for our family (2 adults, 4 kids). It was very clean and the manager was very easy to communicate with. My only complaint was there is not many pans or baking sheets in kitchen.

Family Vacation
This cabin was perfect for our family of 10. 3 king bedrooms with bathrooms in each, and 2 sofa beds. Plenty of room for all of us. Loved the porch and rocking chairs. Dinning table perfect for family meals and game nights! We will definitely stay here again.

Poor response to snow removal
We arrived after 5:00 pm during a snowstorm. The roads were untreated and impassable to one of our guest’s front wheel drive vehicle. An “emergency “ phone call to Jackson Homes customer service was useless, as it was simply an after hours answering service . An “urgent” email was responded to after two days. Our party needed to park at the bottom of the hill in the overflow lot and carry their belongings 1/4 mile uphill in the snow. High Point Escape itself was a nice cabin: very clean and well stocked with all we needed. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of extra towels and blankets for our party of seven. Only minor complaint is that we could not figure out how to turn down the volume on the arcade game- it’s very loud. The hot tub thermometer must be off, as it said 109 degrees but felt much hotter - only tolerable for a short soak. We would stay here again if not for the poor customer service response to our weather concerns.

Awesome view from porch.
Kitchen was stocked well. The basement shower had no water pressure and the upstairs and main floor showers were not draining well. The hot tub worked the first night but would not heat back up again. Overall the cabin was nice and we had a great time.

Positive experience
Pretty view, cabin was very clean, quiet neighborhood. I appreciated the oscillating fans available in each bedroom. Dim lighting throughout the cabin. Hot tub didn’t seem to be working properly, we never used it. I wish there had been a yard of any kind for kids to play in… there is really no outdoor space beside balcony or the small/steep driveway. All things considered, a positive experience.

Great Cabin
This is an awesome cabin. Practically everything was great. But the hot tub apparently leaked and we were only able to use it 2 times. And the arcade never worked. I followed the instructions which were on the wall next to it and it never functioned properly. It’s a shame because the hot tub and the arcade were advertised in the listing for the cabin and were big selling points in our decision to stay there.

Disappointed
We arrived on 5/14/22 at the cabin for a week and found many issues .. 1 . The ice maker did not work . 2. The dryer did not work 3. The internet was out . 4. The Tv was Roqu and would not work due to no internet. 5. The water pressure in the shower was a sprinkle .. I called to ask for another cabin and was told NO because these may be some inconveniences but they did not affect the quality of our life .. So we had to improvise for 6 days with a sprinkle shower , hanging our towels outside in the rails to dry under the trees and birds ..and buying ice everyday and hanging out at McDonald’s parking lot for free Wi-Fi for my daughters school work and my office work .. On Tuesday 3 days later Jackson Mountian Rental Homes sent a repair man over and got the internet working.. yes theses issues were not life threatening but it’s the principle of the fact I spent alot of money on this vacation to not have the everyday accessories..and they already knew the ice maker and dryer was out and rented to us anyway .. We will not be using Jackson Mountain homes again and they prob don’t even care anyway ..

Cabin was well stocked with kitchen gadgets, even a ninja blender. Everything was clean and the three floors made it nice for privacy. Hot tub worked but the jets arent too strong - pretty much all hot tubs in the area are like this. We liked that it was close to downtown but not too close (8 minute drive) and also close to a grocery. Bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. The main floor deck has an awesome view. enjoyed many cups of coffee looking at the scenery. Took a day trip to cades cove and saw some bears. Great trip, great cabin.

Weekend Getaway
This was perfect for our weekend getaway. The three levels allowed us to have our own privacy, but still gather in the common areas. Despite it raining and being winter, the view was still nice.

Cabin was just ok. Beds were not comfortable at all and had minimal sheets and blankets. We got snowed in and the representative I spoke with was not helpful at all, as she could not let me know if our road would be plowed or not and basically just said to wait. I know that is not in her control but being rude is never the answer.

Impossible to get maintenance help
The cabin was lovely and just as described. We rented this particular cabin fir the pool table and hot tub. HOWEVER, upon check in, the hot tub was leaking water and would not heat. Left a message with maintenance. No return call. Called at 9 am the next morning. Assured us, someone would come look at it. Long story short, after 5 calls throughout the day, maintenance shows up at 4:30 pm, resets the tub and tells us it will take 3 hours to heat. Needless to say, we finally got to use it around 9 pm that night and left the next morning. I’m not happy at all with their customer service and will not return.

Overall we had a great time at this VRBO. The location, House, and View were fantastic. A couple of suggestions: could use more utensils, hooks for towels, coasters for coffee mugs. Also there is a slight drip coming from the hot tub.
