About this property

Bear's Eye View | Pet Friendly, Hot Tub, Theater

Bear’s Eye View has so much going for it, you could have a spectacular vacation without ever leaving the 2,540-square-foot lodge. But in addition to boasting a home theater, a pool table, a hot tub, air hockey and a multi-game arcade, the four-bedroom home is also just five minutes from the attractions of downtown Gatlinburg.

In the main floor’s great room, a double-height wall of windows looks out onto the Great Smoky Mountains. Whether you’re on one of the plush sofas watching a game on the 60-inch flat-screen TV, nestled in an armchair by the stacked-stone fireplace reading, or eating at the dining table, you can gaze out at the spectacular scenery.

You can do the same while playing pool or video games in the upstairs game room. Along with a full-size billiard table and a fifty-game arcade, the room has a flat-screen TV and a pub table perfect for playing cards or checkers. Two walls of windows will have you feeling as if you’re in a treehouse—albeit an exceptionally luxurious one!

The downstairs den is another room where you can admire the mountains while snug indoors. You’ll find the air-hockey table here, along with another flat-panel TV and another gas fireplace, which you’ll especially appreciate when you return from a day of skiing or snowshoeing.

To truly immerse yourself in the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains, however, you want to be outside in the fresh air, listening to the wrens and warblers during the day and the whip-poor-wills and owls at night. Bear’s Eye View has two decks, complete with rockers and Adirondack chairs, that span the width of the lodge. The lower deck offers an even more luxurious way to soak up the surroundings: while soaking in the hot tub, which can accommodate up to seven people at once. Whether you’re watching falcons soaring over the mountains or pointing out constellations in the night sky, doing so among the steamy jets of water makes the moment even more magical.

You can cook and eat outdoors as well. Bear’s Eye View has two charcoal grills and two picnic tables. There’s nothing like a side order of sunshine and a crisp mountain breeze to transform even humble hot dogs and hamburgers into a feast.

Of course, you can channel your inner chef indoors as well, in the open, spacious and fully equipped kitchen. Along with appliances, cookware and tableware galore, you’ll find plenty of counter space and elbow room. You can serve your feast at the great room’s dining table, which seats 10. If you need additional seating, the adjacent breakfast bar seats another four.

After dinner, if you don’t want to shoot pool, play video games or air hockey, play music on Bose System or laze in the hot tub, head downstairs to the home theater and watch a DVD on the high definition projector with a 120-inch screen, surround sound and an extensive movie library. Not only is the screen huge, but the stadium-style seating is so comfortable! You may never want to go to your local movie theater again. There's also a karaoke machine with two microphones and a docking station for all your electronics!

All four bedrooms have their own bathroom and TV. The upstairs bedroom includes a queen-size bed, while the other three feature king-size beds. What’s more, sofas in the game room, the great room and the den open into beds for two, so that Bear’s Eye View can sleep 14 people in all.

If you can tear yourself away from the amenities and amusements of Bear’s Eye View, you’ll appreciate its proximity to the area’s attractions. Downtown Gatlinburg has restaurants, breweries, an aquarium, mini golf and more. Just 10 minutes away is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Also nearby are Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area and the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop.

One thing’s for certain—when you stay at Bear’s Eye View, you’ll never be bored. So book your stay today, and get ready for what might be your most exhilarating vacation yet.

Family vacation

Our stay at this property couldn’t have been better. We had everything we needed, there was plenty of room for everyone, and the view was everything we hoped it would be. It was in the perfect location for everything we wanted to do, Cades Cove, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge. We really couldn’t have asked for a better cabin for our vacation.

Holy Bears

Cabin was adorable, each bedroom had its own theme. We stayed 21 days and saw 17 bear sightings. We loved it and the views are gorgeous!

Family Time

This is our second time in this cabin - what a fabulous view, top notch. The amenities of the house - Movie room, arcade, pool table and air hockey - are just fantastic. We were all able to have our own room and bathroom which was important. Saw lots of bears!!!! Kitchen fully stocked with utensils, cooking equipment.

Great place

We loved our stay. The cabin is beautiful with so much to do the kids barely wanted to leave. The only problems were the code to get in the door was wrong, the wifi password didn't work, and the fridge wasn't cooling, but after one call all issues were resolved or scheduled to be resolved ASAP. Would definitely stay there again.

Spring Vacation in the Smokies

Our family enjoyed staying at this cottage and the views of the Smokies were fabulous. Had some minor issues within the cottage and dealing with construction on the road with rebuilding after the fires trying to get in & out of the road to the cottage. Everything was taken care of staff was a great help and we loved our stay and didn’t want to leave!!!

Will definitely stay again!

Fantastic cabin. Our boys loved the arcade, pool table, and air hockey table. It snowed when we stayed so we enjoyed using the fireplaces as well. We also had fun watching movies in the movie theater room. We really got to spread out and enjoyed the whole cabin. Beautiful views from each floor. We will definitely come back to this one!

Amazing space and amazing view for big family.

My family of 9 fit very comfortably in this extra large cabin. All adults had their own bedroom and bathroom, which was fantastic! The kitchen was great for cooking thanksgiving dinner and had an extra long dinner table to fit everyone! The outdoor space was lacking unfortunately and had no place for a bonfire, but that was the only thing missing. Overall it was such a fun cabin and I highly recommend it!

Enjoying time with family

Great property overall with amazing amenities (pool table, air hockey, movie room with karaoke and video games) but just a few maintenance items were bothersome. Hot tub on property was nice. Grill area really needed to be addressed as the view on the property is just amazing and we could not eat out on the tables as the lawn/plants were overgrown. Overall we loved our time at the house - again, views are just absolutely amazing. I would recommend staying at this house.

Comfortable home with a nice view

Overall the house was very nice. Our only complaint was that each TV in every room had some kind of issue. We called maintenance and even they commented about the outdated electronics.

Don’t feed the bears

The house was clean and in an excellent location. The management company was also very responsive. Only back draw was that they had very limited supplies so make sure to bring your own everything. Would highly recommend. A bear got into our car and ate the seats, literally. So be very cautious!

The Perfect Place

We were very happy with our stay. The house was comfortable, clean and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped. We used the pool table, theater and hot tub, and everything was in good working order. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking Gatlinburg though we were high enough that there was no noise and very little light pollution. We were close enough to Gatlinburg that driving in for dinner was convenient. The road to the house could be a little interesting, especially at night. Driving a Jeep was definitely easier than an F-150. If I had to complain about anything it would be that the lampshade in the upstairs bedroom had many unknown stains on it and the toilet in the master bedroom ran the last night we were there. Very minor complaints. We were very happy with our stay.

Nothing works!

Half the “perks” in the listing were not working. The large tv in the living room was broken and replaced with a tiny kitchen sized tv. The air hockey table had a chunk missing from the top and was unusable. The tv in both upstairs rooms either didn’t work or only sometimes worked. The water was out completely one day and came back brown and disgusting. The smart thermostat would let me change it but the temp never stayed on what I set it at. The front door lock keypad never worked. None of the cabins on the street are easily marked so in the dark it’s very difficult to find and gps takes you to the wrong street. It’s not easy to turn around on the roads either. The fridge never did cool properly and the offer the maintenance made was we can bring a loaner and stick it somewhere… where? We just chipped the ice away from the frozen over motor ourselves everyday. My son got the big tv to work, just needed a new hdmi cable. Apparently maintenance doesn’t know how to do what a 17yr old can do. Windows in the living room have no way to block the light so the room is unusable most of the day. Too hot and too much glare to do anything in there. The kitchen is fully stocked but so stocked that any food you buy to cook there has no cabinets to be stored in. Seriously not one single empty cabinet. We had the countertops basically unusable due to that being the only place to store the food. I spent WAY too much on this cabin and we ended up spending more dealing with the fact that nothing worked
