About this property

Owl - Cabin at Sunset Bay

First bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has a single over double bunk bed.

Bathroom has toilet, sink, tub and shower.

Kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, etc., and has a fridge, stovetop and oven.

There is also a BBQ and propane, picnic table, chairs, fire pit, hot dog sticks and firewood.

No smoking inside the cabin.

Friendly, quiet dogs are welcome!
However if your dog has any issues with cats, we kindly ask that you do not bring them along.

Guests will be provided with bed linens and bath towels but please bring your own beach towels.

We have 7km of walking trails on site.

Kayaks, paddle board, canoe and peddle boat available for rent.

Pontoon tours of the lake or to the deeper water for swimming, available for an additional fee. Pontoon comes with an operator, guests are not permitted to take out alone.

Wood fired sauna available for an additional fee. Towels provided. Please bring your own swimwear and robe (if you want to use one).

Our lake is shallow for a long way out, so it’s not the best for swimming. There is a sand bottom though, that’s great for kids to play and to float on floaties. And our lake doesn’t have any fish, but there are many lakes within a 20 minute drive that are good fishing. Just ask and we’ll point you in the right direction!

Guided fishing by boat is also available. If you’re interested please inquire prior to arrival.

There is no TV but we do have plenty of sights and sounds of nature! And we do get cell service and have wifi!

Winter Getaway

The hosts were amazing went above and beyond for us. We arrived during a snow storm. They snowblowed a walking path for us and gave us tons of privacy. We were able to relax no problem. There was a tv and Wifi if we needed it.The property was serene and beautiful. My only regret was not using the sauna. Next time :-)

This property overlooks the lake (if your staying in an Rv) which offers a beautiful view and gorgeous sunsets The grounds are manicured with easily walking trails (gorgeous in the fall which we stayed then) Lots of birds and beautiful views We loved that we could take our dogs and this was why we chose here So glad we did. Had a very relaxing wonderful stay. Will definitely go back. Will just remember to book on Canadian site not US so not charged US funds for a Canadian booking again

Wonderful Vacation!

The Owl Cabin at Sunset Bay was exactly what we were looking for. It was very private & quite. The location was minutes away from Riding Mountain National Park.

A pleasant surprised

After a four-day stay, we were very happy with the overall experience. The owners are friendly and always available when we needed to ask something. The cabin was very clean and well-maintained. I would definitely go back and recommend this place. If you love nature, you will love it.

3.5 stars. First of all the cabin met all of our needs. Perfect size for a family of 4. It was situated in a beautiful area. We had our own large green space with fire pit with firewood included. Close to all amenities. It was quiet and peaceful. Perfect for star gazing and sunrises and sunsets. The cabin had a door lock and deadbolt but the owners did not provide us with a key, which made us a little uncomfortable when leaving our stuff in the cabin when we were not there. When asked about a key the owner stated not to worry everyone keeps to themselves. One of the reasons we booked this cabin was for the excursions/activities they offer but due to an unexpected illness of one of our hosts they could not provide some of these and had no back up plan in place. The small details were lacking such as the bathroom fan and the shower curtain liner were filthy, the sponge and dish washing brush were old and needed to be replaced. Cheap and easy fixes. I feel we left the cabin in cleaner shape than when we arrived. Some quick and minor maintenace is needed. All in all it worked for our accommodations.

Lovely little cabin

Quiet location, minutes from the park. Amazing sunsets. The cabin was clean and equipped with the basics for our 5 day stay. Andrea was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again, or try one of the RV rentals too.

Conveniant and Clean

My friend and I booked for its proximity to the hiking in the Park. It was perfect for this purpose! The sauna was also wonderful after long hiking days! We were definitely happy we did not have children with us though since the bugs were atrocious! Were outdoorsy people and dont mind bugs...outside! Our 2nd night we went out and came right back in just once and we were killing bugs for 20 minutes. They were everywhere! Even with the wind. So we didnt have a fire either. But the place served our purpose and the owners were great!

Booked the Owl cabin for a short spring break getaway. Everything was as advertised. Cabin was comfortable and cozy. Very close to the park and we were able to get out and enjoy the (unseasonably) cool weather! Thanks for having us, we would stay again.

Great winter stay

We came for a winter getaway to enjoy the outdoors with our dog. We had the most pleasant stay, and the sauna was a wonderful touch! Better yet, our dog had a friendly playmate when we were at the accommodations. Would recommend, especially if you have a pet!

A hidden gem!!

Andrea and Kelly are perfect hosts! They were so welcoming and accommodating. I chose this rental because I needed peace, quietness and to be surrounded by nature. It honestly couldn't have been better! The numerous trails created on their property kept my dog and I walking for hours, through the forest, around the fields, along the lake, on the meadow...!!! The location is truly a hidden gem. We went at the beginning of November, and had the privilege to see nature go from fall to winter pretty much overnight. A magical place owned by 2 kindhearted people. Thank you, Andrea and Kelly, for hosting us! We will be back!

Quiet and cozy

The cabin was very clean and the host met us personally when we arrived. You can see the pride of ownership. This cabin has everything listed and all you need for a trip. It is a small commute to the National park and golf course. Perfect place to stay with family.

Bare bones but good

This cabin was clean and met all basic needs. It’s about a 10 minute drive to the park gate which we were not expecting. We did like how quiet the property was. Basic meets were met, but it could benefit from an additional cabinet of some kind for storage for the gear that comes with a family of 4.

Perfect place for peace and relaxation

This property is well taken care of and has a beautiful view. Be prepared to see wildlife. You are welcomed and told to walk and enjoy the property. The sunsets over the lake are breathtaking. Be prepared for no wifi access and to engage with nature and those you came with. We truly enjoyed our stay. Our first evening sitting in the deck we watched two bears walk out of the trees and into the canola field.
