Needs a sign on the road to let you find the entrance to the property . Bathroom very cramped. Ladder to loft bedroom very challenging. Lots of hot water though. Hot cross buns and chocolate appreciated.
A great little house from the 1850s with period furniture and fittings. May be a bit uncomfortable for the elderly as one rooms is in the loft. Overall a very homely and clean house. The host is great too!
had the most amazing stay, host was lovely we fed the cows one morning and did lots more adventures but our favourite things was how lovely the house was definitely recommend this stay for everyone definitely will be back!!
We enjoyed our stay at the stables. We stayed with friends for a couple of nights and it was very comfortable and relaxing. We thought nice touches of things like honey and crumpets being left on our door day 2 and fresh eggs and chocolate on arrival were very thoughtful. Our hosts were kind, welcoming and very interesting. Wonderful people.
John the owner is very friendly. Loved feeding the calfs.

Ohh the stench of sewerage
The stench of sewerage constantly pours out each plug hole in the bathroom and the toilet bowl.
The way we minimised this was to put a towel over the shower drain, keep the plug in the hand basin, put a bottle over the laundry basin (which is in the bathroom - but has no tap available to fill it) and keep the lid down on the toilet as much as possible.
We purchased a scented candle from the port fairy weekend outdoor market which we kept burning whilst we were on site.
Keeping the bathroom door shut was also helpful as the bathroom opens onto the lounge and is a few steps away from the kitchen.
As a side note, the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are so steep that they are ladder-like. The one toilet is downstairs.
We had the most amazing few days at The Stables. The house is clean, comfortable and cozy, it’s exactly what you would expect for a house farm. The property is beautiful, the kids had an amazing time and were so excited to meet the farm animals.
John and Cinthya are excellent hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make sure the kids had a great farm life experience.
Cynthia and John were lovely and hospitable, generously offered us a glimpse of the farm life. The property was unique and lovingly put together. We look forward to being back here again!
This house is a quaint, converted stables which is comfortable, clean and furnished with Johns antique furniture exactly as you see in the pictures. John and Cynthia are super welcoming and love a good chat!! We stayed in the area to surf but were also offered a farm experience if we wanted it! We were able to help move and feed the cows which was a fun little bonus. There are also some cute calves just roaming around the property.
The turnoff into the property is quite sneaky though and could use a sign of some sort. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again!
