About this property

Cozy Flat & Toheroa Pod

Located at Northlands beautiful Glinks Gully, sea views, easy access to gorgeous white sandy beach.

This listing is for the downstairs apartment and a sea view sleepout pod (Toheroa) at our beautiful family bach on the cliff that has uninterrupted views of the magnificent west coast. Named after the famous and protected shell-fish in the region (Toheroa), the pod is cutely fitted, minimally designed and perfect for families. You will have spectacular views right from your bed.

Accommodation:

The "Toheroa Pod" has a queen bed and a single bed.

The bedroom in the flat has a queen bed.

The flat also has a lounge, a functional kitchen, shower and toilet.

Please note: The bach upstairs is a separate listing and is not accessible with this booking. Check out the link for our other listing: https://www.homeaway.co.nz/holiday-accommodation/p7559857?noDates=true&uni_id=6985066

Activities:
Fishing, surfing, body-boarding, swimming, driving on the beach (4wd only), walks on the beach, canyon walks etc.. But please be aware of the tides/currents, the speed around the camps and exercise caution. If you are new to the region, you can always ask the very friendly locals.

You can also watch the endless sunsets sitting on the family bench built by our late Dad, Jack. Next to it is a walking track down the cliff with direct access to the beach.

Location:
Dargaville is 20 minutes away with supermarkets, shops, petrol stations, cinema and cafes. The nearest small-town Te Kopuru is 10 minutes away with a four square. The famous Kai Iwi lakes is only a 45 mins drive from the bach and Bayleys Beach is accessible by both beach and by road.
Poutu lighthouse is 1 hour by road or a 40-minute drive on the beach (4wd only and tide permitting).
Other popular spots like Whangārei and Tane Mahuta are all 1 hour away.
Bay of Island is 3 hours away and Cape Reinga is a decent 5-hour drive.

A stunning spot
We stayed recently with our two kids (5 & 7) and had a fantastic time. You can't beat the location with beach access down the cliff and killer views from the top. Many hours were spent on the bench overlooking the ocean.
