River's Edge is truly magnificent. It sits right on the water’s edge by a beach and feels like floating over the Lake - totally romantic and breath taking. The views are literally million dollar views – River’s Edge is unique in Niagara-on-the-Lake in having complete 180 degree views from the Niagara river and Fort Niagara to the U.S. on the right to Lake Ontario and even Toronto in the far distance. And with a beach at our side gate. From the front door to every point of this luxury cottage you have a view of the water. You can be in the kitchen making a snack or dinner and you have a view of the lake and river. The main floor of this cottage is all open plan. If you are sitting in front of the gas/coal fireplace or watching television you have a stunning view of the Lake and Niagara River!
Going upstairs the view from the floor to ceiling windows on the stairwell is … simply amazing! The bedroom is spectacular. You can lie in bed and still have this incredible view of the Niagara River and the Old Fort Niagara state-side, and look out to the Lake on the other. There is a larger corner tub from where you can watch the boats and ducks go by! In River’s Edge you are in a totally different world….. while at the same time we provide free Wi-Fi so that you can stay in touch.
If you invite another couple or bring the kids along, there is the very comfortable Murphy bed in the second bedroom room that faces the very quiet street. This room also has a washer and dryer in it. Downstairs, the sliding back doors open on to the amazing patio. The top patio is nice and it has patio furniture and BBQ/grill. The lower patio has a small relaxing pool for dipping and relaxing on summer days. Here you can sit and enjoy a glass of local wine and watch the birds and ships drift past…..
River's Edge has 2 bathrooms. There is .5 bathroom on ground floor and a full bathroom with a very large shower upstairs in addition to the large en-suite tub in the main bedroom. Fully stocked with bed-linen and towels and a well-equipped kitchen for making anything from a snack to an amazing dinner. This is River's Edge - all you need to bring is food, clothes and yourselves- for an amazing and unforgettable romantic holiday vacation !!!!!! Official Niagara-on-the-Lake Licence No. 036-2019

8 night stay and everything was beautiful. Views were stunning and the house had all needed essentials. If planning to spend time in Niagara Falls attraction area, it is 30 minutes one way, so we planned our days accordingly. Would revisit!
Our first time in Niagara-on-the-Lake was utterly fantastic and relaxing thanks to both the town itself and River's Edge. The house was spotless, very well equipped, and so completely peaceful and comfortable that we had the most care free and relaxing vacation of this year. I couldn't help but stare out of the many windows overlooking Lake Ontario and the Niagara River as I moved through the house, one of the best parts of this house in my opinion (you can also see Old Fort Niagara through these same windows, as well as the Toronto skyline off in the distance). Another of our favorite parts of our stay here was the walkability of Niagara-on-the-Lake, so much so that our car stayed in the driveway from our arrival until our departure. The town has plenty of shops and restaurants to see while your'e there, as well as 2 theatres (we also highly recommended seeing the Sherlock Holmes play at the Shaw Festival Theatre, my wife quite enjoyed it as her birthday present), and wineries (though we did not get a chance to visit any of those). Overall, we give both River's Edge (along with the hosts of course) and Niagara-on-the-Lake a 10 out of 10, and would love to return in the future if we can.
Property needs TLC.
2nd bedroom was small - NOT room darkness due to round window on north wall. Bedroom WALL open to ceiling hence light from full length hall windows, wooden shutter was NOT closed tightly - many cracks allowed light in. Bedroom sliding door did not close properly.
Lack of necessity- paper towels. Would be nice to have coffee on hand for travellers arriving late.
This is our 5th time staying at this property and it never disappoints. We love sitting on the deck on the water and we’re close enough to walk to all the town has to offer. Hoping we can return soon!
This house was the perfect size for our family of four. We enjoyed the amazing views, short walk into town and spaces to relax and unwind. Would recommend this property and would absolutely stay here again.
Great location.
Second bedroom inadequate, not enough room or storage. Very few channels on TV.
Blinds in living room not working properly.
Location is what you’re paying for,
accommodation could have been better.
The house was a perfect to celebrate our anniversary. The house being right on the water and still a short walk to Queen Street was fantastic. The Owner and her representative were very easy to deal with.
Beautiful, peaceful waterfront with an amazing view!
This unique house is located right on the Niagara River across from Fort Niagara.
It's a beautiful location and there's always something to watch on the river - sailing boats, fishing boats, ducks, goslings, herons and kingfishers. And the chatty little swallows love to perch on the deck.
The house has all the necessary amenities and is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The property manager, Monika, is very attentive and responsive to any issues - we didn't have any issues during our stay but it was reassuring to have her available. The hosts, Anna and Donald, are gracious and take very good care of their lovely house and want to ensure their guests have a good time.
We love spending time in Niagara-on-the-Lake, walking through the shops, going to the Shaw Festival, eating good food, and relaxing at River's Edge. You'll enjoy watching the sunrise from the panoramic bedroom windows, and the sunset down on the patio right by the water.
Thank you Anna and Donald for your gracious hospitality. We'll be back!
Monika’s cottage is right on the water, with a view of birds, sailboats, the Fort across the way, and even the lights of Toronto on a clear night. You wake up to this view and then enjoy it all day. The house is clean, well stocked, and comfortable. Very convenient to walk into town and skip the parking hassles. We loved our stay and hope to come back soon.
Very clean & well stocked . It was anazing watching the sun rise from our bed. Huge windows everywhere . The deck lake views superceeded our expectations . We enjoyed eating on the deck & watching the sunset instead of restaurants . Minor complaints: we needed more lights & a heater on the deck . We froze had to wear coats/ hats . We also would hsve liked a hot tub on deck. Pool was closed for winter . Upstairs although windows anazing views... We had little privacy issues walking out of bathroom. Would like curtain blocking windows from stairs/ bedrooms for little more privacy . But that would not stop me from recommending this house to anybody considering this town. Parking is expensive & an issue . From house we walked everywhere . Theatre / shopping/ restaurants/ hiking / bike trails along water. Absolurely perfect . Highly highly recommend this place . Even better than pics and exceeded our expectations . We definitely will consider returning again . No problens with anything .
My fourth time staying at the property and will keep coming back for a relaxing long weekend in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. Cannot beat the location and view!
We were there for four days in late October 2023, and had such great weather that we were able to sit outside on the deck and enjoy River’s Edge’s spectacular views of the Lake. Its amazing location right on the water and close to beautiful walking trails and everything is what makes this place uniquely wonderful.
However, we did find the house itself a bit quirky, with a beveled glass wall between the upstairs bathroom and master bedroom that meant using the bathroom at night flooded the bedroom with light. As well, the Murphy bed in the other bedroom was too hard to be useable. And as the two electric fireplaces cannot be turned off, the upstairs especially was stiflingly hot.
Moreover, the stairs and several aspects of this place make it very challenging for seniors. For these reasons we cannot give it a 5 star rating.
However, the Host, Anna, clearly does her very best to accommodate the needs of her guests.
And we think that River’s Edge is ideal for young couples and their children.
Certainly its location is wonderful for anybody.
And Niagara-on-the-Lake itself is a most wonderful and historic old town, which we greatly enjoyed visiting. We do intend to visit it again.
Anna is a wonderful host, provides excellent communication and responds promptly to all emails. Her home is in a fabulous location with beauty all around. It was so relaxing and peaceful we are looking forward towards returning.
We were there two weeks ago. With the weather being so nice we couldnt pass up booking it again. We booked it for next year before we even came the first time. It books up real fast.
It's a very lovely spot. I would recommend anyone to stay there. The owner, Anna, and the management company were extremely easy to communicate with. Niagara-on-the-Lake is very beautiful, clean and well maintained.
What an amazing location and view. We had an amazing stay and will look forward to returning in future trips to the area. An amazing place to relax and watch the sail boats go by.
Absolutely gorgeous and relaxing! Loved all the glass and views of Niagara River, Lake Ontario and all the sailboats, kayaks, and longboards. Perfect location close to lovely shops and eateries and flowers everywhere.
This is our 5th stay at this lovely property. It has the best views in NOTL and is easily walkable to all theaters, shops and restauranrs. Extremely responsive proprty mananger. House is well equipped. Cant say enough good about our favorite place.
