Great stay

Had a wonderful time with the family. Spent a lot time in the game room, the room has huge TV! Beth was always in contact with us, before, during and after to answer all our questions. Great communication!! We had the best thanksgiving holiday!

Cozy cabin tucked in the woods

This cabin was perfect for my family of 4. The kids loved the loft. We had a fire one night that was amazing! The cabin is tucked into the mountain and the views are gorgeous. Kitchen was well appointed. There is a screened in porch that was lovely to sit on in the chilly mornings. Kids loved the game room. My husband taught my son to play pool! Really pleased with our stay. Highly recommend!

Wonderful

This cabin was everything we were looking for! It was a peace place to rest and connect as a family. Nights were spent making s'mores by the fire. The game room is incredible! The epitome of a mountain cabin!!

Couldn't have picked a better cabin!

When you plan a trip you can't always plan for weather. There were 8 of us and it rained a lot. We had a blast! The game room downstairs was packed with fun for all ages in our party. We had a movie night in the living room to catch up on some of the Marvel classics. The kitchen is perfect if your cooking for 2 or 8. Lots of space for everyone to be together, but not feel on top of each other. Oh and cards on the screened in porch was my favorite way to end the day.

Nice secluded cabin

The cabin was nice & secluded as described. Be aware that the drive from the paved road to the cabin is very tight & turns sometimes steep. When first arriving it's best not taken at night or in the rain. My biggest issue was that while the whole cabin was on the surface clean - if you looked up & around, inside & out, the whole property needed a good thorough clean. In addition many of the dishes & cups were chipped or cracked and the kitchen had ants. For the price point I expected more than that. Despite those issues the location was perfect & the trip was great for our adult family.

Peaceful and spacious

This cabin was surrounded by trees and peaceful, clearly well-loved by its owner. We had a relaxing holiday weekend, going to nearby Blue Ridge to shop and eat. We communicated briefly with the owner and she was responsive and very easy to reach. We would go back!!

Beautiful, cozy mountain cabin!

This place is awesome! As a family we enjoyed our time there, the kids loved the game room. It had everything we needed and the outdoor covered porch was a great spot for dinners outside. It was secluded and peaceful . The drive up to the cabin is legit! But totally worth it.

Perfect Cabin hideaway

We wanted a cabin in the woods and this was perfect. Very secluded which is what we wanted. The game room was a huge hit with the kids. Fire pit and porch were the perfect adult hangouts. The owner checked in by text with us and was available for questions. We will definitely be back.

Pictures don't do this place justice

The pictures of the cabin online are accurate but the cabin looks even better in person. The host was responsive. We did have an issue getting the TV in the living room to work, but after a while it didn't matter because there was a game room with a big TV for us to watch while we played games. Everything was so nice and we loved the mountain theme in the cabin, it wasn't modernized like crazy and that's what made it charming and perfect for us! We wanted a real cabin feel and that's exactly what we got. The only down side was having to remove our own linens. There weren't even any bugs and the place is surrounded by nature. Overall this place was great for a quick weekend stay! We would totally book again.

Beautiful, cozy family cabin.

This was a beautiful and cozy family cabin. The owner was awesome with making sure we had all that we needed. The game room is so nice I only wish we didn't have to go outside to enter it. But we had a lot of fun with the air hockey, foosball and Pool/table tennis tables. With the amazing TV and bathroom along with the futons that pull out we could have just stayed the night down there. But the bed was super comfy and I slept well. We will definitely be coming back to this property.

Amazing time l

We had such a great time at the cabin. Big table right in the center of the kitchen for family gatherings with an awesome game room that was entertainment even for my grouchy 16-year-old. The fire pit area is not pictured but is amazing. We absolutely loved this cabin:)

Review of Shady Pines

The cabin was very clean, plenty of towels, etc. But the photos on the site are not accurate, it is much darker and the yard is very grown up. The gravel road up to the cabin is very basic, needs repairs in several locations. The gravel portion is very long and that should be noted in the info. It is NOT for frail or handicapped people.

Comfortable, spacious, secluded

This cabin was very comfortable and spacious and everything worked. It was a very peaceful getaway for me and my kids. It rained so unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the fire pit but the game room was a big plus. The owner was very easy to talk to and communicate with, great response times. I would come back.

The pictures are deceiving. To get to the basement you have to walk around to the back of the cabin and downstairs. The cabin is outdated and multiple things are broken. Also it could use a better cleaning.

Cozy Mountain Cabin

A great respite from the summer heat, this cabin is on a misty, secluded spot up a gravel road. There's cute bear theming throughout, it's roomy and has lots of places to relax. We enjoyed the game room for billiards, air hockey, ping pong and streaming TV. Updated appliances in a full-sized kitchen and a grill outside. Several sleeping options for a family. Older kids can sleep upstairs in the loft, 2 single beds. Property owner is helpful and responsive. We recommend Rolling Thunder River Whitewater Rafting and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.

Great little cabin.

We had a great relaxing week at Shady Pines cabin. Beth, the owner was an absolute pleasure to work with and responded immediately whenever I texted a question. Cabin was stocked with everything needed. Would suggest bringing some extra toilet paper and paper towels if staying awhile. There was plenty there to get you started though. Was perfect set up with the pups. Very quiet and secluded. Really pretty area. Saw several deer on ride up. Game room was so much fun!! Really enjoyed our stay.
