Spacious Family Cottage on the Shores of Oxtongue Lake

Welcome to Wildwood, our family cottage getaway located on Oxtongue Lake, just minutes from the wilderness of Algonquin Park. Our cottage is uniquely situated in a peaceful bay between the Oxtongue River and the larger lake.
A spacious 5 bedroom cottage with two and a half bathrooms. This cottage is perfect for two or three families, or a maximum of 8 adults. The upper floor has three bedrooms including one with a queen bed, one with a bunk bed and one with a king bed. A bedroom with two single beds is located on the main floor and a master bedroom with en-suite is located on the lower walkout level. Spread out and enjoy the cottage with three large loving rooms with lake views, a games room, a bar and sauna. A BBQ and outdoor dining area is available on the back deck.
The greatest feature, for everyone of all ages, is the large private beach just out the back door. The beach is great for wading, swimming or launching kayaks to explore the river or lake. Enjoy an evening fire down at the beach side fire pit or spend some time on the trampoline. The lot is large and level providing lots of space for play.
To explore the lake and river, we have two kayaks for your use, and Algonquin Outfitters is located minutes away which will drop off rental canoes or other toys for your use. The lake is great for fishing and we have our own private boat launch. Hiking trails are endless in the area. Algonquin Park and Ragged Falls Provincial Parks are a few minutes drive away. For winter guests, we are located right on the snow mobile trail. Hidden Valley ski club is 20 minutes away for winter fun and skiing. Come in from the cold and warm up by the many fireplaces or in the sauna.

For groceries and supplies, there is a small store at the end of our road and Dwight is located 8 minutes away. Dwight has a well stocked local market, pharmacy (inside market), two bakeries, a post office and and LCBO. Huntsville is located approximately 25 minutes away with all your bigger needs, the downtown is lovely to visit.

A minimum of 3 nights booking is required. ‘Weekly’ rentals are for 5 nights (Tuesday morning to Sunday morning) to allow for extra cleaning and sanitizing during the current Covid situation.
