Welcome to Boomers Retreat located on a canal with direct access to the Albemarle sound nestled in the quiet community of Colington Harbour. This cozy and cute home beckons you to come and relax with your family and friends.

Bring your jet ski or boat and launch directly from the community boat ramp and then tie up at the docking area in front of your vacation home. Spend the day splashing in the community pool, swimming in the canal or just enjoying the sun on the decks with a good book.

Summer Vacation

Pleasant and Restful!

We enjoyed our stay. The bay beach and the decks were used a lot to relax and enjoy the scenes. The house was very clean and met our family's needs. Our boys loved crabbing from the channel best of all. Thanks for a great week!

Wonderful home away from the madness

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyable stay, property listing was very accurate and properly described what the home had to offer. Kids enjoyed the access to the canal and even used the kayaks to paddle over to the club house swimming pool (around a 15 minute ride). Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for the six of us and dog (very dog friendly). Location is quiet and neighbors are very friendly. The only drawback was some road construction on the main road out to Collington, we experienced some minor delays getting to/from beach but by the looks of the progress, construction should be completed in a few weeks. BTW, if you plan to eat at the Collington Cafe, make reservations days in advance, they book up quickly.

Great space

Absolutely love this house. The house is updated and very functional. Lots of room for 6 of us and our dog to spread out. The backyard is wonderful for the afternoons when it provided a lot of shade. It’s 10 minutes off the island and 15 to the beach. The pool had some strict rules so we didn’t spend much time there (no throwing balls, no floats etc) the showers had good water pressure. Outdoor shower was great for our dogs. Kayaks are a fun addition and easy to use. They have fun games such as corn hole and ladder toss to use. We had some issues with it not being cleaned before we arrived but once we called the office it was corrected within 30 minutes. They were quick to respond and help. It is a quiet neighborhood and everyone was very friendly that we encountered. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it if you want to be off the beaten path and try staying on the sound side.

Cozy & Private Family Retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the recently renovated floors, deck, and countertop and that the homeowner has taken care of the property and made it a comfortable space for families to enjoy. This is our first time staying in Colington Island and had to get used to the area but gated community is friendly with a mis of locals and rental properties. The facilities are great with pool, private sound side beach, and park where you can overlook the beautiful sound. A plus was that the home allows a dog and our’s made friends with local pups on daily walks. The dock overlooking the canal made it accessible to launch a kayak. The home felt private and safe with no concerns in leaving our two kayaks by driveway as most folks in community own a boat or kayaks. Our kids enjoyed the reclining chairs when watching television and the kitchen was properly equipped for a family of 5. Highly recommend for families and wound consider booking in future.

Great OBX Vacation

We had a great time at this lovely home in OBX. It is clear that the owner has put a lot of time and money into this property. The decks in the front and back and amazing. We used the kayaks and bought floats for the canal. The beach and pool access were amazing as well. The set up of the house is terrific and we appreciated the stay. Thanks

Perfect Location for Family Fun!

The property was the perfect location for our family to enjoy the Outer Banks! It was located in a wonderful private community that had immediate access to the Sound. My kids thoroughly enjoyed fishing and kayaking directly off of the dock in the back yard. The pool was fantastic as well as my kids enjoyed using a diving board for the first time! The layout of the house was exactly what my family of 6 needed. It was spacious and gave us plenty of room to gather together as well as find moments of privacy for alone time. The back deck was one of our favorite spots to enjoy meals and watch stars. We had a wonderful time and will definitely consider staying here again for our next OBX adventure!!!

Beautiful house with quick sound access

The house was beautiful. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need! The dock outback was perfect for our boat and we spent several days right out in the sound. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and the neighbors where very nice!

Great location!

This house was perfect for us. We are a family of 5 and had a great time! The house is about a 15 minute car ride from the main roadway between all of the OBX towns. The neighborhood and pool are great.

Nice property - a little tough to get in and out

Nice property - very well maintained and new. The only drawback was getting to it from highway 12 - had to plan some travel time getting in and out due to windy road and ongoing construction.

The house was a nice setup. As we were putting sheets on the beds I noticed one mattress was rotten dirty and black things all over it. Also as I was looking around you can tell they didn’t clean the house, they just ran a vacuum. The dinning room carpet had stains from one side to the other making it look nasty and dingy. The dust was very bad and they was old soap and toothpaste on the sink. I had to clean the house from top to bottom before we could unpack. The next day I went to Carolina shores and brought everything to their attention with pictures of the house. The property manager Brenda was very helpful and no clue the house was in that shape. She ha a new mattress in the house within an hr. But as for the cleaning part of it she advised me that they were short staffed. Short staffed or not that’s too much money to pay for a week to receive a house in that condition. And with this pandemic going on they are not taking the proper precautions to make sure that their guests are staying in a clean home.
