Perfect getaway for a family
The pictures don’t do it justice! This was a much needed “off the beaten path/put the screens away” trip for our family of five (our kids are 14,11 and 10). We put our 26ft center console Scout in at IOP marina, and was just a hop to the Goat Island house. The loft area was perfect for the kids. The porch was so nice to enjoy coffee in the mornings. We used the game room every night! So fun to cruise and explore all day then come home to this island house. The kids loved crabbing off the dock. We will be back! Also, the host Hugh was informative and easy to reach!

If you want o unplug and enjoy nature, this is the place.
This is the perfect place for those that love fishing, crabbing, and just relaxing. We caught enough fish to stock the freezer for a while. We had enough crabs to cook there on our last day, and enough to take home and pick out to make 10 crab cakes. It's a cozy home with everything you need. I spent a lot of the time on the bed swing on the dock. I hope to book for next year and highly recommend.

Good Adventure
A great place on Goat Island. You'll need a boat to access it, although the Marina is only about 100 yards across the intercoastal. We rented a boat from the Marina and this is very much a boat and water-centric vacation spot. There's not a lot to do on the island itself. There's one small dirt road about 2 miles long that you can walk and jog on. The dock is great. The house is good. It may not be the perfect spot for everyone, but it was wonderful for us with 6 kids, ages 7-16. They got off their flatpads and got a lot of outdoor experience, fishing, cornhole, boating to Shem's Creek and visiting Charleston. Crab trap on the dock, lots of great restaurants nearby, etc... I definitely recommend it, but just be sure this is the kind of adventure you want. The circuit breaker, for example, popped a few times on the shower heater (which is easy to reset), the house (which is cool) is very slightly askew due to being on stilts in the soil, and we had to switch to the rain water reserve, which the property management company did a good job of coming over and helping us with. Point is - there are some quirks and it's more for adventurous people seeking an outdoor and memorable experience. Great property and clean house. Highly recommended if this is what you're looking for.

Paradise on Goat Island
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at To Goat and Beyond. Communication from the management team was top notch, which made checking in and out a breeze. The house was immaculate and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It rained for the majority of our vacation, which allowed us to take advantage of the many extra amenities of the house when we weren’t out exploring the barrier islands. We played pool, relaxed on the various porches, and took turns lounging on the dreamy swinging daybed on the dock. I highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a modern but charming place to stay on Goat Island. We will definitely be back!
