About this property

Relax and unwind to the sound of crashing waves. Situated above the Tessellated Pavement with direct access to the walking track and overlooking Pirates Bay. Our family shack has recently been renovated and we’d love to share it with you. It has all the essentials for a weekend away whilst retaining the shack feel. Enjoy water views in front of the wood fire in our open plan living room, or from the deck outside. There are numerous options for adventure at your finger tips for everyone, from fishing, surfing, snorkelling, walking, rock hopping to boat cruises. Nearby attractions include The Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Tasman Blowhole, Remarkable Caves, Crescent Bay, Bangor Winery, McHenry Distillery, Port Arthur Historic Site, Three Capes Track and Shipsterns Bluff.
Conveniently located a stones throw from the Lufra Hotel, down the road from Cubed Espresso and an 8 minute drive from Murdunna General Store.
Make sure you stock up on groceries in Sorell before you arrive at the Peninsula.

Fantastic spot

Such a great place to stay! Exactly as indicated on the listing, well placed right next to the beach and the fireplace was amazing on the cold nights. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Only thing Id recommend fixing is the front entry door, which gets stuck when opening and can a handful when carrying bags etc.

A little piece of heaven

The cabin was perfect for our hiking holiday. The location is insane. You can do as much or as little as you like in this incredible location. Watch the sun rise. Talk to the kookaburra. Have a beer at the pub and cheese and wine before bed. The perfect mini break. Saskia is so quick to respond to any questions. You can’t go wrong with this booking 🙌

Hours of serenity

Rustic but modern at the same time. Stunning views to enjoy. A great place to kick back and relax, let nature surround you. Plenty of wildlife that come to visit. Great location to visit the surrounding areas.

Stunning

I was so happy to select this property, the Black Pearl, for my getaway. Stunning views and just a gorgeous shack. Well stocked and setup and so aesthetically pleasing. The location is a dream for anyone who has wanted to see the Tessellated Pavement at sunrise and sunset.

Raw and rustic

If you don’t mind rough around the edges and raw rustic cabin then this is the place for you! If you’re after 4/5 stars then look elsewhere. The owner has excelled at providing the essentials and the location is second to none. The shower was hot, the bed was comfy, and the fireplace was a dream. There’s so much to do in and around the area that we didn’t even miss the fact there was no tv. If you’re happy to overlook the imperfections you’ll see the potential this property has!

Fantastic location, this house has everything you need for a relaxing getaway,very nicely decorated and comfortable. We loved the fire and the bed was comfy. Amazing view over the water very peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

Cosy and comfortable

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at Eagle Hawk Neck, it is a beautiful spot. You can hear the waves crashing 24/7 and it is a very cosy and comfortable cabin. Perfectly located if you are looking to go to Port Arthur and not too far from Hobart. Saskia was a wonderful host treating us to a bottle of wine which was a lovely surprise and perfect choice for us! Thank you Saskia such a lovely spot to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.

Cosy!

We loved it here. Very cosy and five yr old loved bunk beds, board games and books! So great for kids. Keep in mind no supermarkets nearby (need to drive), pub across road did a really yummy dinner, place gets a bit chilly thankful for the heater. Would have loved a slightly bigger bed. Overall lovely! Thanks for having us.

Fantastic holiday shack

This is a great location, by the Tessellated Pavement in Eaglehawk Neck, a protected bay surrounded by bushland. We spent 3 nights here, and the accommodation was very comfortable, wonderful views, great kitchen and supplies (thank you!), dining and living very spacious and quality modern furnishings. . An electric bar heater that works well, and a fire. Outdoor table and chairs. Quiet location, and very practical for local site seeing. (Not much shopping nearby so stock up on supplies in Sorrel on your way). We loved it.

Stylish, cosy and relaxing getaway

For a reasonably small shack this place packs a punch, being stylishly decorated, and with a smart use of space. The outlook is of course stunning and the home is super comfortable. We loved it.

Perfect escape

There has been so much love and many hours transforming this place into a family retreat. The garden was beautiful, as was the wildlife. Really very comfortable. However, the highlight was the trees as they framed the view across the bay.

Perfect place!

We loved Saskia's beach shack. The view was incredible. The whole place was super comfy and styled beautifully. Kitchen was very well stocked and equipped. It was the perfect place to explore the peninsula and we would love to stay there again and will encourage friends to do so!

Beautiful location with spectacular views.

We loved our two nights here. Was a great location to just sit on the deck or in the lounge and take in the view. House was clean and comfortable with everything you need for a comfortable night away. Great location to be based while exploring the Tasman Peninsula.

Cosy getaway

A perfect little place - modern yet nostalgic, gorgeous wood heater, cabin-feel, a very short pleasant walk to the beautiful tessellated pavement and beach. Short drive to Do-Town, Port Arthur and other locations on the pensinsula. Saskia was a great host. Quick to respond and accommodating.

Clean, Comfortable and Very Cool!

We were so delighted to come across this little pearl in Pirate Bay! The black shack is definitely a vibe, styled to perfection and positioned with the most beautiful view of the bay. Super convenient with the Lufra Hotel just up the road and the perfect space to find peace and productivity while I was working creatively while on holiday with my partner. The property was not clean, very dirty. We did not want to eat or use the kitchen. The inside smells terrible and air fresheners try to mask the bad smell. No TV, outside, rubbish and building materials make it a hazard to walk around. Too many building defects to mention. We couldn't wait to leave. Photos of this place are deceiving.
