Green Valley Homestead is a stylish holiday house in a quiet rural setting on Flinders Island.

The cottage is situated on a highly productive sheep and cattle property, only five minutes’ drive to the bustling township of Whitemark.

Green Valley is also on the doorstep of some of the most spectacular beaches, mountains and bush tracks on Flinders including Trousers Point and Fotheringate Bay.

If you love to hike then take the Mt Strzelecki challenge – a 756-metre uphill climb that overlooks Green Valley and has stunning views across Bass Strait, and as far as mainland Tasmania on a clear day.

Green Valley’s secluded cottage garden is the perfect place to chill and enjoy your time on this exquisite island.

The fully equipped kitchen is a joy to cook in. The large, open plan living space is light-filled, offering views of the garden and the farm.

The sunroom is a calm and beautiful space for reading and relaxing, and has a glass sliding door onto the deck.

The property is fitted with reverse cycle air conditioning and also has a wood-burning heater for cooler evenings.

The house has two generous queen-sized bedrooms and a third with twin singles. Beds are all fitted with designer 100 per cent cotton bed linen, electric blankets and hotel quality mattresses and doonas.

There are two bathrooms – one with a shower and heated towel rail and another with a bath - with Sheridan towels along with body wash, shampoo and conditioner, as well as a hairdryer.

Fresh flowers from the garden have been beautifully arranged by the owner and placed in every room of the house, along with magazines for your enjoyment.

Arrive to the smell of freshly made bread and open the fridge to find eggs straight from the owner’s chookhouse. Breakfast is provided for the first morning including muesli, milk, condiments, tea and coffee.

There is also a laundry, BBQ, picnic equipment, iron, and board games.

Green Valley Homestead was a lovely 3 bedroom house in which to base our Flinders Island adventure. Everything we required was supplied, including a fresh loaf of bread on arrival!. The location is excellent (close to Whitemark for groceries, petrol etc) and convenient to explore the whole island. Beautiful home..would highly recommend!!

This was a fantastic property for our family and kids partners, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one shower, one bath) and heaps of living areas to lounge around in. All very clean, everything you need and a homemade loaf of bread and next day's brekkie on arrival. Beautiful spacious gardens in a rural setting but only 5 mins from town. Close to beaches and Mt Strzelecki. One of our best ever adult family holidays. Thanks heaps to our fantastic hosts.

Ultra quiet, clean, comfortable, well setup house
House is beautifully setup with everything provided in the kitchen, bathroom, laundry etc. There are no close neighbours or road noise, merely the many native birds providing a soundtrack. Bed is comfortable, garden is pretty and the trees surrounding the house are an excellent wind break (wind is, as expected, a constant companion on the island). The hosts leave fresh flowers in all rooms. The property is a short distance from Whitemark with wonderful views of the Strezlecki range. Importantly for summer, the house has fly screens, so you can get a cool breeze and no bugs. There is no WiFi; this made it a digital detox and that was excellent for the break we wanted from our chaotic lives. The Flinders Island locals are friendly and welcoming. The night sky is exceptional, no light pollution and it will take your breath away!

This place is just like the photos. The whole house is very modern and clean. Really comfortable beds and lounge area. Great kitchen with everything you need. The house is a very short (5min) drive from Whitemark, where there is a great pub with terrific food if you don’t want to cook. The house is in a great place for sightseeing, as it is very central island, so when day we went north and the next south. The house is surrounded by paddocks but house a nice flower filled garden - so you can totally just switch off and relax. No Wi-Fi, but the Telstra internet is strong if you have data. Recommend hiring a car as town is possibly a bit far to walk each day.
