About this property

Beautiful and charming apartment in nineteenth century villa

The flat is on the TOP floor of the VILLA, has two wide bedrooms with private bathrooms, one kitchen, and one large living-room.
The furniture is modern and linear with refined details as a 19th century villa should have: TV flat screens, satellite, wireless internet connection.
Every room benefits of a fantastic panoramic vista.
Our guests are welcome in our garden and will benefit of a private area with a table and chairs, to relax under secolar trees and drink a glass of wine.
The villa is close to the gothic San Maurizio church, on Pinerolo green hill, but only 5 minutes away from the city center
Pinerolo is a green towd on Piedmont hills. it is only 2hours far from MILAN, EXPO 2015 location.
the nearest airport is in TURIN, 40km far away, but MILAN MALPENSA airport is only 1.30hours away from the town.
Pinerolo has a medieval historic centre that ends up on San Maurizio hill.
The glorious Horse Riding School was active here at the beguinning of ‘900 and at present, Pinerolo hosts a lot of cultural and historic events such as the International Horse riding competition or the Iron Mask cerimony.

Villa le Ortensie di Carlotta is a perfect starting point in order to reach artistic destinations like Turin, the eighteenth century Hunting Palace in Stupinigi, the Contemporary Art Museum of Rivoli or the Savoy residence La Venarla Reale.
it is extremely easy to reach Turin and Milan by train, with frequent public transports or car.
If you are looking for cuisin specialties of Piedmont you can easily reach Monferrato and its famous wines: barolo, barbaresco or dolcetto are made here. Alba (the white truffle territory) is only 50Km away .

Pinerolo is also in the centre of a Sport rich area: Sestriere and its olympic mountains with fantastic skiing slopes are only 1 hour away by car. In the summer, our mountains are the perfect meta of cycling tourists and famous competitions: Tour France was here in July 2011.
Golf-players will be able to choose from many fantastic clubs: the nearest practice court is in town, only 3 km away from our villa.

A villa in a garden paradise

A beautiful villa surrounded by a stunning garden, the apartment was large, historic and yet very functionally modern. Pinerolo is a busy town not far from the magestic Italian alps. The Duomo is well worth a visit and the area surrounding it is charming. The food is excellent everywhere.

Beautiful Villa and property

We stayed four nights here for our son’s wedding nearby. The views from the villa balconies are spectacular, especially in the morning and evening. Luigi was a fantastic host, he provided us with several great restaurant recommendations and even led us to the supermarket in town after check-in. Thanks so much!

An unique experience

It was a 19th century villa surrounded by a splendid garden giving the place a dignified historical character and a tranquil atmosphere. The small swimming pool added to the dolce far niente feeling. It was a rare harmonious setting we have seldom experienced before during all our many stays in Italy. The friendly, easy going attitude of the owners made us feel very much at home. All in all we felt privileged to stay here.

Juwel am Rande der Westalpen

Wir haben als Familie zwei Wochen in der wunderschönen Villa „Ortensie“ verbringen dürfen. Die Wohnung ist sehr großzügig, stilvoll und absolut komplett eingerichtet. Der Garten ist traumhaft schön, den Pool haben wir meist alleine genossen. Besonders gut fanden wir, dass das Wasser nicht gechlort, sondern „gesalzen“ war. Die Hauseigentümer Pia und Luigi sind äußerst zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns jederzeit willkommen und umsorgt gefühlt. Das ganze Anwesen ist schon ein ganz besonderes Juwel! Für uns war die Lage sehr günstig. Man kann von Pinerolo aus viele Ausflüge unternehmen. So haben wir das sehenswerte Städtchen Saluzzo kennengelernt und auch in näherer Umgebung einen erfrischenden Ausflug zu den „Tumpi di Bobbio“ (Süßwasser-Tumpen) unternommen. Natürlich sind Turin, Barolo und der Monte Viso auch gut zu erreichen. Auch Pinerolo selbst bietet auf den zweiten Blick einiges. Man kann von der Wohnung aus zu Fuß bergab durch die hübsche Altstadt laufen und den Tag bei einem Aperitif am Domplatz ausklingen lassen.

Wunderschöne Villa in ruhiger Lage in Pinerolo

Wir haben eine sehr entspannte Woche in der Villa Le Ortensie di Carlotta verbracht. Die Wohnung ist riesig, stilvoll eingerichtet und hat einen wunderschönen Blick ins Tal und auf die umliegenden Berge. Wir haben zusätzlich das kleine Apartment gebucht und hatten somit auch eine Terrasse, auf der wir gerne gegessen haben und die uns einen direkten Zugang zum Pool ermöglicht hat. Perfekt!! Der Pool ist klein, absolut ruhig, sehr sauber und auch von hier aus hat man einen großartigen Blick. Carlotta und ihre Eltern sind tolle Gastgeber, jederzeit zu erreichen und haben uns bei einem medizinischen "Notfall" prompt und tatkräftig unterstützt! Vielen Dank nochmal dafür! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Very comfortable place

We were very happy returning to Pinerolo and this charming apartment, which is squeaky-clean and very comfortably equipped. Pinerolo is a relaxed town with a lot of history and a great base to discover the area, including the royal palaces and valle di Susa. The owners are very knowledgeable and helpful. Waanzinnig goed appartement

De hele bovenverdieping van het 18e eeuwse landhuis stond tot onze beschikking. Zeer goed gerestaureerd en smaakvol ingericht en zeeën van ruimte. Prachtige tuin en heerlijk zwembad. De eigenaar was zeer behulpzaam. Absolute aanrader!

Perfection!

We could not have been happier with our week-long stay at this beautiful home. We occupied both of the apartments to accommodate three generations of family while visiting the area to explore my mother-in-law's Waldensian heritage. The apartments are sparkling clean and include a delightful mix of old-world charm and modern conveniences. The kitchen and living room in the main apartment are larger than they appear in the listing. The studio apartment allows direct access to a patio (with comfortable furniture) which is surrounded by fragrant lavender and offers views of the mountains above and the town below. Stone steps lead from the patio to the pool area where there are lounge chairs and more stunning views. We loved the location just above the old section of Pinerolo and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Ascending the hill to return to the villa was great exercise for burning off our daily cups of gelato. Thank you Luigi, Pia and Carlotta for a wonderful vacation!

Why they chose this property

The property I rent is on the top floor of the eighteenth century villa where my parents live.
the villa was bought by my grandfather in 1950 and, at that time, 5 families were living there.
during Worls War II the villa was the Germans hedquarter of the area: Pinerolo sorroundings and mountains were full of Partisans.
The top floor of the villa, is divided in 2 indipendent flats, that we rent for vacations.
it was completely renovated in 2010, and flats are fully equipped.
My parents live on the ground and first floor of the villa

What makes this property unique

Pinerolo is a green town only 2 hours away from MILAN, EXPO 2015 city location.
the villa is 1 hour far from Turin airport and 1.30 hour far from Malpensa Airport.
The flat benefits of spacious bedrooms and unique views on the Alps and the plain towards Turin.
My father Luigi personally takes care of the fantastic garden where our guests can spend time reading or drinking a glass of wine and children can play.
