About this property
Classic Lakeside Log Cabin with Panoramic Views ... Fish, Swim, Relax!
The charm, comfort, and beautiful setting of our vintage Northwoods log cabin will make your cares melt away. Our cabin sits so close to the water, you'll feel like you're floating on stunning Lake Wabedo. Inside the home, you're treated to comfortable furnishings, a well-appointed kitchen, and amazing views of the lake from nearly every room in the house; outside, you're literally steps away from swimming, paddling, and world-class fishing
What will you do with your day? Watch the sky turn early-morning pink over the lake without even leaving your bed. Enjoy your coffee from the lakeside deck in the company of the many birds that visit our feeders. Perhaps you'll head out in the canoe to visit Fish Island, or explore the winding channel that connects Lake Wabedo to Little Boy Lake. Bring or rent a boat and fish the waters of them both, nearly 2,600 acres total, and reel in everything from panfish to walleye to trophy-sized muskie (of course, fishing's not bad from our dock either). Enjoy a cool drink and watch the kids swim off the dock.. In the evening, take in the sunset from the deck and listen to the ghostly call of the loons.
Should the weather be inclement, no worries--our cabin has a spacious open floor plan, and everything in it has been carefully chosen with comfort and relaxation in mind. There's plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to hang out and watch a movie, play a game, or just enjoy the company of good friends and family.
Feel the need to get out? Visit one of many charming nearby towns, including Longville, just a few miles away and home to world-famous turtle races! Play some putt-putt at Birdie's in Longville. Try your luck at the Northern Lights Casino in Walker. Hike or bike the many local trails, and visit Deep Portage Conservation Reserve for a variety of outdoor activities and classes.
Whatever you choose, the backdrop for it all is the calling loons, towering pines, and lapping waters of Lake Wabedo. You will leave feeling rested, rejuvenated . . . and eager to come back

About the host
Hosted by Kirk Buster

I grew up in northern Minnesota, just a couple of hours east of our cabin. I have so many fond memories of fishing with my dad and brother, camping with the family, hiking with Boy Scouts and exploring with friends. When I got married, I talked my (agreeable) wife into a Northwoods, Boundary Waters, house-boating honeymoon. She was instantly hooked on Minnesota and we've vacationed here most summers since.
Why they chose this property
We were looking for the classic Minnesota lake cabin and knew we were at home the first time we saw this early-40s log cabin.
