Experience the romance of the past with a stay in The Helena Suite at The Old Eltham Post Office built in 1905. The freshly renovated 100 sq metre apartment has full central heating, a large flatscreen TV, a champagne spa bath, seperate bathroom, ultra fast unlimited wifi and kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster and utensils.
We also provide a breakfast of fresh toasted ciabatta and fresh eggs from our "Post Office Chooks" and locally sourced bacon.
Walk up to the stunning crystal clear Wilkies pools through sub-alpine rainforest or drive east to the Rotokare wildlife reserve. 15 minutes to the south is Tawhiti museum. The creation of one man's passion and relentless drive for history.

About the host
Hosted by David & Maria
Maria and David moved from Byron Bay in Australia to Eltham in early 2020. We spent over a year restoring the property to her former glory including a full central heating system and new bathrooms. We did a lot of the work ourselves and see ourselves as "lucky custodians" rather than owners of this grand old piece of NZ Architecture.
