About this property

Sea Glass - A Waterfront Treasure on Marsh Island!

Sea Glass - All you need is Sunshine and Saltwater....

Much like finding sea glass as you stroll on the Beach, it’s the little things in life that often make the biggest difference. Time with family - a lazy day on the beach, catching crabs off the Dock, telling stories around a campfire - these are the little things that amazing Vacation Memories are made of. And Sea Glass is just the treasure you’ve been yearning for....

Located on Marsh Island, you'll have amazing Views of both Black Narrows Channel, the Causeway, and the Chincoteague Channel. As you take the exit for Marsh Island from the Causeway, you'll feel like you're pulling onto your own private island. With only a handful of homes here, you'll love the peace and quiet. All the festivities of Chincoteague Island are mere steps away, but you return to the sweet serenity that only Marsh Island offers. This tiny Island was formerly a Harbor for Commercial Fishermen that was converted to Waterfront Homes. You will experience Views that are simply stunning - 360 degrees of Waterfront Views of the Chincoteague Channel, Historic Main Street, the Bay, Marsh, and of course THE most incredible Sunsets to be found.

Sea Glass is one of a small cluster of single family homes tucked away on Marsh Island. This lovely home sleeps 6 in 3 Bedrooms, and is ALL about the Views! If you are traveling with another family, or just need a bit more elbow room, you can rent Sea Glass and it’s sister-house, Sea Breeze - right next door!

As you pull in the driveway, you’re already thinking you may never leave that Front Screened Porch - a great place to curl up with a good book. You even have some Water Views of the Chincoteague Channel and Island from here! This beautiful home has it all, and is eclectic in a wonderful way….

You’ll love relaxing after a fun-filled day searching for Ponies in the spacious Living Area with Free WiFi and Flat Screen Streaming TV - that is, if you can pull your eyes away from the spectacular Water Views! With cheerful and comfy furnishings and Hardwood Floors, it’s a great place to gather with those who matter most. Step outside onto the Waterfront Deck, and you will be mesmerized. With a picnic area perfect for enjoying some Fresh Local Crabs, and 2 other Decks for just taking in those Views, there’s nothing quite like it. You can even try your hand Crabbing on the Shared Pier (only shared with one other home)!

Mealtime will be a bay breeze with the well-stocked Kitchen. Dine indoors in the comfort of Central AC, or Al-Fresco on the Waterfront Deck. Also on the 1st Floor, you’ll find a Half Bath, Laundry Area, and Bedroom 1.

Bedroom 1 has a comfy Queen Bed, and a relaxed, beachy feel with Colors of Sand and Sea. Wandering upstairs, you’ll find 2 more Bedrooms and 2 Full Baths. Bedroom 2 is the Master, and has a King Bed and captivating Bay Views. Enjoy your morning coffee on the Private Balcony, or slip out to stargaze while the rest of your family slumbers. The Master Bath has a Tub/Shower Combo. Just around the bend, you’ll find Bedroom 3 with a Queen Bed. Full Bath 2 is very spacious, and also has a Tub/Shower Combo.

Sea Glass is all about kicking back and taking in that salty, sweet sea breeze. Enjoy all that Chincoteague Island has to offer, and return to your own peaceful oasis on Marsh Island. Pure bliss…

Relaxing Getaway
The property was clean, roomy and all basic needs covered. Enough space for family to have privacy but gather for games and music on the deck. My only suggestion would be for a better grill on the deck. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect place for island time
We enjoyed our stay at this clean, cozy, and relaxing location. Muscovy ducks were the largest traffic jam to enter/exit the property's driveway. Inside, we had plenty of space for family time (including a bookshelf of provided games) and for individual time (in rooms, on the front porch, or on the deck overlooking the water). We'd stay here again.

Great spot!
Great house in a great secluded spot! Loved that linens were included as most rentals on the island don't include them! I would say there could have been more kitchen utensils and pots and pans. Also could use a thorough cleaning, as the corners were quite dusty. (I found a used contact lens on the bedroom floor for example). Overall it was a great place and I'd stay again. As I said, I would inventory the kitchen and have a talk with the cleaning crew.

Fantastic Island Getaway
We loved the house! It was the perfect location on Marsh Island just over the bridge from Chincoteague. The management company was great and sent us text updates as to special events happening since it was pony penning week. The views were amazing and the kids loved trying to catch crabs off the back dock. We even saw dolphins two of the mornings we were there! We spent a little more for this property but it was worth it. We are already planning our trip for next summer!

Fun short stay
We had a short but great stay at this home away from home. The local geese were attentive but not too intrusive, one of had a nest of eggs- we only regret we weren't there when the eggs hatched ! The view off the deck was beautiful, close to every thing in the area but far enough to be able to enjoy some peace. We would love to come back ,just bring plenty of mosquito spray !! Thank you Gail and Roger for sharing your home. Sincerely, Rita,Frank and family

Great Home with Added Bonus!
The house is cozy and comfortable. It is well furnished, clean and the kitchen is well stocked. It was very welcoming and the back deck overlooking the water was wonderful. When we first arrived, our greeting was quite a surprise. As we pulled up, a family of about 15 ducks waddled up to us. We weren't sure what to expect but learned that they reside on the island. They are very friendly and will eat out of your hand. They greatly added to the ambience of our experience. My family enjoyed seeing them, learning more about them, interacting with them. They enjoyed eating lettuce, corn, peas and grapes as bread is not good for them. They added a few dollars to our grocery bill but it was well worth the entertainment they provided. The home is delightful but for me, the ducks were the star of the show and I will go back to this home because of them.

Wonderful
It was a wonderful week in Chincoteaque staying at Sea Glass. We loved waking up in the morning and watching and listening to the many birds on the water and watching the sun set in the evening. The house was spacious and comfortable surrounded by beautiful nature. The fully stocked kitchen was appreciated. This was the perfect place to spend time with family. We very much enjoyed our week in Chincoteaque and look forward to going back. Thank you to Seaside Vacation for their communication before, during and after our trip. It was a pleasure working with you.

Nice & On the water
Very nice property with water right off the back deck, we brought kayaks hoping we could launch them from the dock but water level is several feet below the dock even at high tide, couldn’t find any suitable place on marsh island to launch without trespassing, The grill is a small charcoal grill which had a chimney starter inside. Kitchen was well stocked, I usually bring some essential equipment and supplies but would have been fine without them. Rental agency provided a nice bag of essentials (paper products, soaps, sponges, etc.). Refrigerator was new, still had some of the packing tape attached but the icemaker wasn’t hooked up. Biggest complaint which is easy to fix are the toilet paper holders in 2 of the 3 bathrooms were falling off the walls. Overall though it was a very nice property. The bugs are a very real thing. no issues at the beach but we took a short hike a few hundred yards to see the lighthouse and were bitten several times. Regrettably we discovered the Chincotiki outdoor restaurant/bar late in our stay and only visited once while we were there, friendly staff, live music, good cheap drinks, decent food and a friendly mix of locals and tourists.

Very pleasant place to stay
The property is on a tiny island attached to Chincoteague by a short highway. Very enjoyable - calm, comfortable, and clean. Only drawback is no real sidewalk on the road to Chincoteague, but there is easy access by car Beautiful sunsets with a view of the sound. Three bedroom, 2.5 baths. Comfortable beds, plenty of storage space, screened in front porch, friendly ducks, and water birds easily seen from the deck in the back. Close to NASA Wallops Island and Chincoteague wildlife refuge and beach. Saw the wild ponies several times. Bring insect repellent if you go in the wildlife refuge. .

Wonderful, but water is just pretty to look at
Beautiful and relaxing place! Just want to warn that the water is very low, and it’s impossible to get in and out without some cuts and bruises from that beautiful dock!

Splendid house!
The Sea Glass is a wonderfully maintained and very clean home in a quiet location! The outdoor area is very relaxing whether just taking in the view or enjoying a meal. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. We’ll look to rent the home again for our next Chincoteague visit!

Relaxation at Sea Glass
Our family (wife, 2 small children, myself) stayed at Sea Glass for 4 evenings in mid-April and loved it! The Marsh Island strip is small and quiet. We absolutely loved the bay view on the back deck that was peaceful in the morning with coffee and to have drinks while the sunset or look up at the stars after the kids went to sleep. Yes, you are staring at a causeway with cars periodically driving by but I enjoyed watching cars come and go against the backdrop of the water. The house is quite large with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a nice front screened in porch (probably best in-summer when mosquitos are plentiful), the awesome back deck, another small deck off of 2nd floor bedroom and a comfy living room. We loved the unique geese that would waddle up to us in the front yard and plenty of seagulls hanging out on the dock or flying through the air in the bay. The only very small drawbacks to be honest were the dishwasher that was surprisingly, very loud and the washer/dryer which was also a bit loud and not as effective w/ drying. We only ran these each once during our stay so not a big deal. We also want to call out that you do need to be mindful of the deck/dock with small children. We obviously saw pics ahead of time before we booked so knew what we were getting into. Just had to ensure that kids did not go out on deck without parents and block their path or hold hands if they wanted to go out towards dock. The drive to the main island is literally 2 min so it is a perfect secluded location and we would absolutely stay here again! The Sea Glass team sent us plenty of communications before hand so we knew exactly what to expect. Thank you for an amazing, relaxing getaway from New Jersey! -E.
