Beautiful and cozy!
We loved our stay and being visited by elk and deer every morning. Very cozy place. We don’t even use the 2 upstairs bedrooms or bath. Traci was amazing. I locked us out of the house and she came to the rescue. My only complaint was having to cut our vacation short due to a family emergency.

Green light for Casa Verde
After 20 years apart, by best friend and her husband and daughter visited me in Albuquerque from Germany. They wanted to see the variety that New Mexico has to offer. I wanted to show them White Sands and Carlsbad caverns and also go hiking and escape the August heat. Cloudcroft was the ideal base of operations and Casa Verde was the ideal cozy cabin experience we were looking for. It has all the amenities one needs in order to enjoy a homecooked meal on the lovely deck, roast marshmallows over the propane fire pit, jaunt off on a day hike, and relax in the evening playing games and sleeping comfortably. Bonus, they have a generator and when the power went off during some maintenance it turned on and we were still able to cook dinner! We also enjoyed a meal at the Cloudcroft Brewery - it was very handy to have their printed local guide and printed hiking sheets. I communicated easily with the property manager and we have a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing your property with us!

Family Vacation
The cabin was perfect for our family summer vacation. Beautifully tucked away in the mountains, with a peaceful and calming atmosphere. The hiking trails are in close proximity to the cabin. We enjoyed hiking most of our visit along with visiting the local shops and restaurants.

Great Cabin , Our second stay
This was our second stay at the property, it is always lovely . My only complaint is that the door code did not work when we arrived and the property manager in Albuquerque would not respond to our texts , emails or phone calls that we could not get in . We finally had to call the corporate office for the property management in Denver and it took two hours to get through to finally get a proper code . It was storming outside and it made for a big inconvenience. The lady from Albuquerque responded to a txt 24 hours later and only gave the code that was incorrect the first time . She never apologized or responded to any other of the original communication. Her service was totally unacceptable. It put quite a damper on our check in since you can’t check in until 4pm , and two hours it took for us to get someone to answer, we missed our usual evening getting to watch the elk come in because we were on the cusp of having to go to a motel . Again , wonderful cabin and location, terrible management.

Nice location but needs better cleaning
Nice location near Ski Cloudcroft and downtown Cloudcroft but be aware you will need four wheel drive to get up and down the steep roads in the neighborhood during the winter months. Tidy but not clean. All blinds coated in dirt. Floors in every room had dust bunnies. Linens washed but stained. Kitchen completely disorganized with dirty dishes inside the cabinets. Couch is old and beat up. Also zero sound barrier between upstairs bedroom and downstairs bedroom. We won’t be back but hopefully the owners can get on top of these issues so future renters can enjoy their stay.

Great setting in Cloudcroft
We spent a week in Casa Verde and it was delightful. We hiked every day and had dinner on the deck every evening. Birds galore, esp Stellar Jays, were in constant motion while we drank and ate. A group of approximately 15 elk wandered through the property one evening and one particularly large male checked out the neighbors bird feeder. We saw deer every night. And we walked down to the duck pond several times and just enjoyed the serenity. Highly recommend.

Nice cozy cabin
Our stay was good overall. We saw a lots of elk in the front yard early in the morning of the day we left. However, we wish we had a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the trip because it was challenging to park on the steep gravel driveway of the cabin.

Two night getaway.
Great cabin ! Great surroundings! The Elk were amazing ! Also lots of Blue Cardinals , squirrels and deer as well ! We look forward to going back for a visit soon ! The only thing I would change are the mattresses , they are very firm . One had a pillow topper pad and it was still very firm . Otherwise, all amenities were great!
