Uniquely located on the lovely Rita Way in the middle of the Omaha Spit, so close to the surf and sand and equidistant to the harbour and boat ramp. A courtyard pool, surfing, swimming, fishing moments away, golfing, tennis, moonlight beach walks, getting in touch with the ocean and nature, there is something here for everyone.
An incredibly rare, special property with privacy and the wow design factor, this is a seriously must view you will not want to leave.
The first and one of only five Fearon Hay designed masterpieces in Omaha, this immaculate concrete beach house an hour north of Auckland is defined by its simplicity and style.
Briefed by Jack and Trelise Cooper and drawing from their inspiration, appreciation and love of good design of Japanese and American West Coast buildings, the architects were given creative licence to conceive and deliver "a sharp spacious retreat" to reflect the couples clean-lined design tastes and their desire for absolute privacy . A special space where they both could relax and entertain with friends and family, and shut the rest of the world out.
The preliminary plans were labelled "Coopers' oasis" because the living room practically contains the pool. Single level, naturally light-filled, 3 metre high ceilings throughout with glassed pitched roofing forming a transparent ceiling over the corridor leading to the bedrooms. The magic of the collaboration between the Coopers and the architects is an art piece of design, functionality and a fun place to enjoy and cherish.
