Words & Woods: a cozy, peaceful stay in beautiful Ladysmith B.C.

A private, fully-furnished cozy ground floor one bedroom suite with kitchenette, living room and reading room/office/den. Private entrance down a flight of stairs and dedicated parking, with keypad entry. Enjoy the quiet view of the rainforest with your morning coffee or tea from your private deck, and a relaxing and comfortable space indoors with art by local artists on the walls.
Comfortable queen-sized bed in bedroom, and futon couch in living area. Full bathroom with tub (with grab bar) and shower, and well-equipped kitchenette. The dedicated office space and wi-fi also makes this a perfect working getaway location.
Located in the beautiful seaside town of Ladysmith, only a few minutes drive from the ocean and shopping, in a very quiet neighborhood.. Nearby hiking trails. We are centrally located between Nanaimo and Victoria, only ten minutes drive to Nanaimo airport, 20 minutes to Duke Point Ferry and an hour and 15 minutes to Victoria.
Nearby activities include strolling the prettiest main street in Canada, savoring the world's greatest cinnamon buns at Old Town Bakery, hiking the Holland Creek Trail, or visiting Transfer Beach for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and picnicking. A short walk from our home is access to beautiful forest hiking and mountain biking trails, including the Heart Lake and Stocking Lake Loops.
Stays are limited to 30 days.
* We don't have a television in the suite, but we have excellent wi-fi for guests' devices.*

A cozy home away from home!

Our stay at Words & Woods was exactly what we needed! The space was the perfect size for my husband and I and Marc & Marti were very welcoming! They provided so much info on the island and activities to do throughout all the different towns and cities. We will definitely be back to stay again!

Lovely hosts

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The suite was clean, comfortable and well laid out. Additionally, there was both a small patio and a sundeck to add to our pleasure. I recommend this property.

Peaceful

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was so peaceful next to the forest. We could only hear birds and deer and the occasional rabbit. No highway noise, just what we wanted. Lots of sunshine and very comfortable.

Great for Wine Touring

Our hosts were fantastic! Just the right combination of responsiveness to our requests, but allowing us complete privacy at all other times. Marc, Marti, and Finn greeted us when we arrived, and we chatted briefly a few times when we were coming or going, but we saw the bunny in the woods by the deck more often. We stayed five days while touring the wine regions to the north and south, as well as Salt Spring Island. When we had questions about the local area (restaurants, etc.), we contacted Marti by email and he was very helpful. The kitchen is complete (even fruit, butter, oil and vinegar, and pantry items) and there is a dining table. Being able to cook breakfast, pack some snacks, and then either cook dinner or get take-out is much more relaxing than having to dine out every day. Also, since my husband and I switch being the wine taster or the designated driver each day, it allows us to each have a glass of wine with dinner. Being able to wash and dry a load of clothes meant packing less for this trip (11 days total). The little office space was comfortable - I sat at that desk while my husband sat at the dining table to use our laptops. We prefer a king-sized bed or two twins, but the queen-sized bed was very comfortable otherwise. As described, there is no TV, so dinner music or movies in the evening must be provided by whatever device you bring, or there are books and board games provided. Summary: Excellent Stay! Highly Recommended! Thanks Marc!

Exceeded Every Expectation

This beautiful suite was absolutely perfect for our visit to Ladysmith. It was cozy, beautifully decorated and our hosts had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. The little extras truly exceeded every expectation we could have had! The layout of the suite works great if one person needs to sleep on the futon couch and it is extremely comfortable! We will absolutely be visiting Woods and Words Suite again in the future. We are grateful to Marc and Marti for this exceptional experience!

This property exceeded our expectations. O

The property is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood and backs right onto a luscious forest. The suite is spacious and beautiful. It has everything a family needs for a restful vacation. I appreciated the large kitchen and the washer/dryer. Marti was wonderful and next time we make our way to the Island, we will definitely stay here again. It was an 11/10 for us!

Our first Vrbo experience

This was our first Vrbo experience and we were pleasantly surprised how easy it was to do and how nice the suite was. It was like being in a nice apartment. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating to my needs. There is a long flight of steps to get to the door, so you need to be able bodied. The shower/tub was very deep, so you need to be agile. But, it would make a great soaking tub. There is a grab bar that is helpful.

Thanks to Words & Woods

Words & Woods is an appropriate name for this suite. The suite overlooks a small stream and wooded area where one can relax and appreciate the outdoors from a furnished private patio. Internet access, a library of books, games and puzzles are at hand. Numerous walking trails, parks and beaches are easily accessed from the suite’s location just south of Ladysmith. The suite is a spacious, well-appointed, spotlessly clean, private apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, large washer and dryer and lots of comfortable living space. The password entry, sole guests and onsite parking provided security and relaxed comfort for us. Ladysmith is an active, engaging, friendly hillside community with excellent local shopping, entertainment and dining. The town is centrally located for mid island day trips. Marti and Marc, our hosts, were exceptionally attentive to ensuring a memorable and rewarding stay. They were always available to answer our questions and offer suggestions. Their knowledge of the area was much appreciated and helpful. They made every effort to ensure a comfortable and worry-free stay. Our month long stay attests to our appreciation and satisfaction with our experience with Marti and Marc at Words & Woods in Ladysmith.
