We enjoyed our stay at Char's guest house and getting aroud Tuscson was very easy. She is a great historian for the area and was very informative about the area.
I highly recommend this place for peace and relaxation. The Host (Char) was wonderful to work with and is a beautiful person. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and included everything just like home. Char made tasty cookies for us and made sure all was well.
Our hostess stocked our refrigerator with basic essentials, provided us with admission to the Desert Art Museum and the Loft theater, plus made us cookies and pound cake. Amazing!! She checked in frequently to make sure all went well.
The location was private and very relaxing as well as spacious. We really enjoyed our stay.
The reading material has a great collection on the West and plenty of guides and magazines -- quite the library.
We highly recommend a stay here!!
We really enjoyed our stay! The location is ideal, close enough to town to be only minutes from shopping and dining, yet very private and quiet. Char and Allison are incredible hosts. Lots of special touches when we arrived including a bouquet of flowers, stocked fridge, and fresh cookies. Char contacted us a couple of days before our arrival and was extremely easy to contact at any time. Thanks Char, we plan to be back!
This was our first retirement experience to spend time away from our home and go to a warmer climate. We pulled into the driveway to our Casita and were warmly welcomed by our hosts who made us feel like family. When they took us into the house, there were beautiful yellow flowers and cookies on the counter. The house is very nicely decorated. The view is great. We could see Mt. Lemmon and other mountain ranges around us. There are lots of brochures, and guides to help familiarize you to the area and events. Even though we were just outside of the city limits, shopping is close by. We could not have been more satisfied with our experience! We hope to return again!! Thank you again to our wonderful hosts! ❤️
We loved this area, close to many hiking trails.
Our guest house was clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. It also had many periodicals about Tucson and the surrounding areas.
As well as being a super host Char is quite witty and we enjoyed her so much. We will stay again if she will allow.😊
Perfect accommodations for a cycling visit to Tucson. The house was clean, comfortable, quiet, and fully stocked (even with milk, bread, and juice). And the hosts were delightful and very helpful. Location was perfect for me. I cycled from the front door through Saguaro National Park, up Mt. Lemmon, and all the way around the city on the Loop bike path. Never had to use my car. I can’t imagine a better visit!
The cottage was even better than the pictures. Plenty of comfortable seating and space for 2 introverts to spread out. Spectacular sunsets from the front, and lovely sunrises from the back. Lots of wonderful hikes within 30 minutes. Char was attentive, but not intrusive. I hope to come back another time.
We have been using VRBO for more than 15 years. This stay was the best ever! The Blue Door Casita was very spacious. Every room was completely stocked. Bedroom had extra pillows, blankets, closet space. Bathroom had extra towels, cleansing supplies, and toiletries. Kitchen fully stocked. Living area had loveseat, sofa, relatively large TV.
When we stay somewhere we always go out the first evening and buy some breakfast supplies. When we arrived we were delighted to find milk, juice, bread/butter, coffee supplied! Even blueberry muffins. WOW!
Char and her daughter Alison were gracious hosts. They suggested several different activities. They even took the time to ask our interests. They made us feel like we were visiting old friends.
This is a fantastic property managed by a great owner. The photos don't do this rental justice. The location feels remote, but you are less than 3 miles from groceries, etc. I was impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was with all necessary items. The owner is extremely nice and hospitable. If you enjoy cycling this location is perfect offering easy access to some of Tuscon's best routes.
Stayed for a week in November 2021. The property was clean, quiet and everything was as-described in the listing. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again
This cottage had everything we needed. Fully stocked kitchen. All necessities in bathroom. Very convenient to Sabino Canyon and Saguaro Natl Park east.
Quiet, secluded one bedroom casita home in Eastern Tucson nearby the road to Mt. Lemmon.
This is a great place for a couple visiting Tucson. It has a complete kitchen and washer dryer, big bedroom with twin beds doable as king, and comfortable living area and a full bathroom with shower. Char and her daughter have collected all the most current information about restaurants and sights in the area. The casita is distant enough from their home that it is truly independent. Dark in this part area at night because no street lights so care is needed. We were here in monsoons and this home is tight and secure. Saw quail walking around in the morning. We will be back for sure.
A delightful guest house surrounded by the natural beauty of the desert offering much solitude. The house was comfortable offering all the necessities/amenities one could need. Restaurants, grocery stores, etc are close by as well as Mt Lemmon for hiking and picnicking. The host is great and easy to reach if you have a question. Without a doubt I would stay here again.
I felt at home there. It was quiet and secluded yet near everything we needed to be by. Char and Allison we’re attentive yet they were not hovering. I would stay there again.
Clean, cozy, and stocked guesthouse in perfect location to get to Mt Lemmon
We had a great stay here. The guesthouse is quiet and private with beautiful desert views. Char is awesome, she checked in almost every day with us and was super communicative before/during check-in. This was the best-stocked rental I've ever stayed at: there were muffins, bread, milk/oj, and more when we arrived as well as tons of toiletries/other supplies.
This place is great for both working remote or exploring the Mt Lemmon area. The internet was very fast (50Mbps) and there were multiple comfortable working locations (including the back porck and a great old recliner). The highway up Mt Lemmon is just a couple minutes away, we went up every day whether for rock climbing or just watching the spectacular sunset. The 2-bed setup works great for friends traveling together.
Overall, one of my best rental stays ever!
Great location for hiking, as there are many trails nearby. Very quiet and great hosts, we had very nice conversations. Look forward to our next stay in Tucson!
We loved our stay in Char and Allison’s Casita. It’s a perfect location for hiking the best spots in Tucson, including Sabino Canyon and Saguaro East. The road to Mt Lemon byway is very close as are restaurants. The owners were the most accommodating VRBO we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.
My husband and I live in Tucson and had my 88 year old father from Ohio and his friend stay for 10 days! It was very spacious and no stairs! A nice large full kitchen and large bedroom and nice living room with a big TV. Not much outside space but one can use the owners pool and pool area to sit out. Over all I would highly recommend the casita for the price! The owner Char is a very nice funny lady!

Comfortable and beautiful
Sun rises a little later as there are mountains to the east. And when the morning sun comes through the bedroom window, the mountains to the north light up. And you haven't even gotten out of bed yet. Close to groceries, restaurants, hiking and biking.

oasis in the desert
This charming casita is perfectly located in the Catalina foothills near Mt. Lemmon, Saguaro N.P. East, lots of hiking trails. It has easy access to restaurants and activities around Tucson and is quiet and private, offering scenic views.
The beds are comfy, the living space roomy and comfortable with quality furnishings--including wi-fi and TV, completely stocked kitchen and bath--and the owner actually filled the fridge for our arrival!
Char and her daughter Allison were gracious and thoughtful hosts throughout. They provided coupons and recommendations for activities and eateries based on our interests; Char provided fresh towels and bedding weekly and offered to do our laundry; she regularly dropped off homebaked cookies and cake; she and Allison took us to dinner one evening; and at our departure Char provided us with a "survival kit" for the road!
Overall, this was a wonderful experience!

Lovely, secluded guest cottage; close to all necessities yet remote enough to feel truly in the desert. Owner was most helpful in all respects.

Very quiet, quaint guesthouse yet close to hiking trails, excellent restaurants, and shopping.
The owner and her daughter could not have treated us better. The guest house is comfortable, spacious and well laid out. The grounds are well kept and the scenery in the area is magnificent. Very helpful, knowledgeable owners when it came time to inquire into things to do in Tucson as well as the surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Tucson!
