Wonderful stay at Coconut Farm
My husband, 5 year old daughter, and I stayed here for a week. We have been to St. Kitts a few times, staying at hotels and resorts. Last year while staying at the Park Hyatt, we saw the 2 bedroom cottage and thought it would be amazing to stay in the serene location. Well, we booked it and it is as amazing as we had hoped, the perfect little cottage for a week at the beach! Bacchus, the property manager, was very welcoming and helpful getting us all settled in and showing us around the cottage. He even had a few amenities available like soap, shampoo, conditioner so I didnt have to pack them. He even had some essentials like bread, eggs, coffee, sugar, and creamer to get us started if we hadn't yet stopped at the grocery store. I reached out in the app to confirm what I might need to pack as far as household items and was pleasantly surprised to find that all essentials were available, even beach bags and coolers. The farm is quaint with beautiful coconut trees and Bacchus keeps some nice vegetable gardens to stroll in. Our daughter loved making daily visits to the turtles and rabbit that Bacchus cares for on the farm. This is a little piece of paradise and we will certainly be returning! It is also in a prime location with easy access to amazing beaches and great food!

Heaven
We loved the place! Just a short walk down to the beach area. House had everything you need. It has beautiful views and mgr Bacchaus was very friendly and informative. My only complaint would be the garbage on the path down to the beach across from the road. Not the fault of the VRBO. We will come back.

This is an amazing property. It is a beautiful two bedroom that has all the outdoor space you could ever want. The Support by Bacchus who manages the property and makes you feel so special. It feels extremely rural and you can walk to the beach in less than five minutes.

Amazing stay
I don't think I can say enough about the coconut farm. Location was fantastic and the property itself was awesome. The view over the palm trees to the ocean and Nevis was just stunning. My children really enjoyed the animals there, from being greeted by Ginger the cat in the morning, going to pet the dogs and tortoises. Bacchus the property manager was so nice and helpful. We explored other beaches but found that the beach by the property was the best and it is where people staying elsewhere come. Also helps that the property is affiliated with Reggae Beach. The first few nights while we were figuring it out we ate at the Park Hyatt and Spice Mill-both were excellent-but eventually started just getting takeout from Reggae Beach to eat back at the house when we were done at the beach. There's so much more but this is a great place to stay and I really look forward to going back

Heaven on Earth
The Coconut Farm is definitely one of the most relaxing places we have ever been. The property is lovely and quaintly nestled in the beautiful Cockleshell Bay Area. The proximity to the beach is perfect and the cottage is fully equipped with everything you need! The amenities are so comfortable even the bed and towels are luxurious! This was our second time here and we’ll be back!

Coconut Farm as an Idyllic place to stay
We stayed in the two-bedroom cottage on the property (although we only used one bedroom ) and were instantly at home. With white-washed walls, high ceilings and cleverly designed partly-enclosed outdoor showers, the second-floor bedrooms are beautifully appointed. We also loved the subtly playful art. The wide-veranda opening off the bedrooms has small table and chairs and a perfect daybed (where I worked), with wonderful views across the sea to Nevis. The main floor is a largely open dining area though there is a hammock to one side. There is also a well-appointed kitchen, a small bathroom and an outdoor shower. A short (2 minute) walk gets you to the beach. In the mornings, no one else was there as I began my days by snorkelling in the ocean. I saw conch and starfish in what look like underwater meadows. And I was able to swim with iridescent tropical fish. A little farther down the beach there are beach bars and the terrific restaurant, Spice Mill. Only when cruise ships put some of their passengers on day-trips to the beach did the population increase. As Coconut Farm is right next to the Park Hyatt property we did have lunch the day we left at the Fisherman's Village Restaurant on the property. We also want to acknowledge Bacchus, the property manager as he was consistently helpful and engaging. We would return in a heartbeat. Our stay was idyllic

About the host

Gary was born and raised on St. Kitts. He grew up fishing, camping and spending time in the kitchen at his family's hotel. Cooking remained his passion throughout the years and, after attending St. Mary's University in Nova Scotia, he moved back to the island to pursue a culinary career. He has owned and operated several beachfront restaurants on the island and he is currently the proud owner of Reggae Beach Bar and Grill.

Gary's wife Mary was born and raised in Greenwood, SC. Growing up on a farm, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian from a young age. After graduating from Clemson University, she enrolled at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) in St. Kitts. She graduated from RUSVM and moved back to the island of St. Kitts.

Mary and Gary Pereira met while she was attending veterinary school and they have been married since 2006. They welcomed a daughter, Ava Kate, in 2012.

They love 'living de island life' and 'rushing slowly'!

Why they chose this property

In 2012 we decided to plant some coconut trees on a small acreage of land on the South East Peninsula. The soil proved to be so fertile we started planting some fruit trees and then moved on to vegetables, herbs and more fruit varieties. A few chickens were added, a stray dog showed up and since then we've started our Saturday Farmer's Market. We enjoyed the farm so much we decided to add a little cottage. We completed construction on our One Bedroom Coconut Farm Cottage in April 2018. The Two bedroom Coconut Farm Cottage was added December 2019!

The farm has evolved into a meeting place for locals and tourists alike. We have added a yoga platform and our weekly farmers market gets more popular every Saturday. A wonderful way for our visitors to meet Kittitian and Nevisian people during there stay on our farm!

What makes this property unique

The location of our property is like no other! Across the street is one of the most beautiful beaches on St Kitts. Fabulous & fun restaurants and bars are within walking distance.
The water taxi to the island of Nevis is just a few minutes away. So much to do and see or just stay put on a hammock under the coconut palms and relax!
