About this property
Water's Edge Wombarra by Contemporary Hotels
Nestled between the escarpment and the ocean, this incredible property is the final word in beachfront luxury. You can quite literally walk out the back door, across the lawn and onto beautiful Wombarra Beach: there's nothing between you and the sea.
But the location is only the start of it. This home has it all: five bedrooms, three of which have full ocean views, including the master with balcony access and an en-suite; three bathrooms; space for two cars in the lock-up garage; magnificent outdoor dining areas, an infinity pool, multiple living and dining areas, a great big backyard and a massive marble entertainer's kitchen perfect for making family meals.
Set over two floors and fitted out in an impeccable seaside chic style, this property can cater to the grandest or the most laid-back seaside holidays. It's designed to make the most of the great outdoors, with full-length windows providing panoramic vistas onto the Pacific Ocean and sliding doors to let in the sea breeze. But it's also fully climate controlled, so there's no issues at the height of summer or on dark and stormy nights. In the case of the latter, you may be tempted to fire up the epic central fireplace.
What the owners love
You can't beat the location - not just in the sense of the beach, the mature gardens and the nearby bushland, but the local area. It's hard to believe this beachfront paradise is only an hour from Sydney, but it is, and via a stunning drive through the Royal National Park. This is one of the most scenic places in all of Australia, with charming coastal villages linked by a spectacular road which hugs the cliffs. You'll feel the laid-back vibe when you pop into nearby Coledale (about 10 minutes' walk away) or trendy Thirroul. Both have cool cafes, great eating options and a wide variety of local shops.
What we love
For somewhere that's a short drive from Sydney and close to main roads, this home feels incredibly secluded. You'll fall asleep each night to the gentle sound of the waves breaking on the shore and feel like you're a million miles away. There's a real sense of privacy here: you're set back from the road and have an outlook on the tranquil beach, as well as the security of a gated entrance.
What the family traveller loves
This home is ideal for family getaways, no matter the age of the family. The multiple living areas - including balconies, an outdoor dining space, the pool, the backyard, a formal dining room, a living room and the casual open kitchen - mean there's space for everyone. The pool is securely fenced and provides the perfect place for kids to blow off steam, while the beach beckons for the more adventurous. There's also a great rockpool for those who are somewhere in between. The perfect oceanside getaway beckons.
Please note; only two cars are able to be parked in the drive way to allow for turning around without reversing into the neighbours properties. It is not safe to reverse into the street. The remaining cars are required to be parked on the street opposite the driveway.
