Newly Constructed Friendly Cottage on Oceanside, Bailey Island is now available for your seaside vacation, no matter the season. This well-insulated cottage, heated and cooled by solar and geothermal systems, is appealing during the less - crowded brisk Maine springs, the lazy ocean-breezed days of summer, the colorful crisp days of fall, or the quiet peaceful days of winter.
Friendly cottage is on the east side of the island with an unhindered view of Casco Bay and spectacular sunrises, and sits on a secluded beach at the dead end of a quiet neighborhood.
Yet, the cottage is in walking distance of the general store, post office, a non-denominational church, several local eateries including the famous Cook's Lobster House as well as Mackerel Cove, the hub of the fishing and boating community. Entertaining and socializing has a comfortable flow in this 3 bedroom-2 bathroom home - perfect for family get-togethers, reunions, special events or simply a nest to enjoy the Maine experience.The nearest shopping centers are in Brunswick (13 miles away and a 30 minute drive) .Stopping at a grocery store before you come to Bailey Island might be more convenient, although there is a general store with limited supplies.

Magical and Quaint with Thoughtful Hosts
We had a peaceful time at this home. It served as a home base for exploring. When my daughter left her most priced possession, her stuffed otter, the lovely hosts found it and shipped it back to us. We're so grateful for the thoughtfulness.

Beautiful home and landscaping! Loved the red chairs and the fresh sea air. Bailey Island is right out of a novel. Make sure you get out and explore!!

Maine Memories
It was a beautiful property. The views were wonderful . we enjoyed sitting in the red chairs with a relaxing view of the ocean. The kitchen was well equipted and we enjoyed cooking simple meals and just reading and enjoying the peacefulness. We went to Bowdoin College and saw the Arctic exhibit which was so informative. Spent a day in Camden which we really enjoyed. We've spent many many vacations in Maine and have many happy memories. This trip will add to our collection.

Absolutely Amazing!
The property and home was absolutely beautiful. We had a blast roaming on the rocks, looking for Sea glass and hermit crabs. The views from everywhere in the home and on the property were absolutely amazing. Everything was provided for you in the home in the house was absolutely immaculate.

Fabulous stay in Bailey Island
This picturesque home was immaculate, charming and well-appointed. Sitting in the red chairs staring at Casco Bay was like meditating. Lots of walks and small beaches close by. Nice eating options nearby but not always open during our stay. We would definitely return to enjoy more of this beautiful area.

Our second stay at Laurie's and Eric's amazing property. The home is beautiful, comfortable and perfectly situated on Maine's rocky coastline. The amenities in the home are exactly what a family needs for a vacation stay and Bailey Island is as quaint and picturesque as any place in Maine could possibly be.

An amazingly wonderful place to stay - clean, comfortable, quiet. Neat location. Spent a lot of time out on the point - just watching the waves and relaxing. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Everything you could want is included. Highly recommended!

Relaxing and beautiful
This is our second time to stay at this house and we love it. The house is comfortable and the location is ideal. You are close enough to do day trips to see all the cute areas, but there is plenty to do on Bailey Island. The yard is great to play in with our daughter (4 yr olds) and there are nice shorelines to walk when tide is low.

Beautiful home in fabulous location!
6 of us recently stayed here for a family wedding. The house is absolutely wonderful, spacious bedrooms, well appointed kitchen, comfy beds, and amazing view. The house is a newer build but made to the standards of old, with nice chunky mouldings, handcrafted built in cabinets and vintage look hardware. We all loved it and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay on Bailey Island.

We've been coming to maine for vacation 7 years now. This has been the very best one yet and i doubt there isnt one better. The sights and sounds made us think of heaven. The house was beautiful and comfortable. The view was incredible. Good restaurants and the Bailey Island General Store has fresh lobster. Clos to Freeport for shopping. The island has some nice trails for hiking.

Sea-side Enchantment
Eric and Laurie were wonderful, thoughtful and friendly hosts, while fully respecting our privacy.The cottage was beautifully furnished reflecting their deep Maine roots and love for Bailey Island. It was well equipped, and super clean. Every detail seems to have been thought of. The setting--enjoyable both from the cottage and the Adirondack chairs--was beautiful... and breath-taking every minute of the day and awe inspiring at sunrise and sunset. We very enthusiastically recommend Friendly Cottage.

Thanksgiving week
We had a wonderful stay the week of Thanksgiving! Our college age daughter had to have her tonsils out the week before Thanksgiving and this beautiful guest home was the perfect place to recuperate for her. I enjoyed the early sunrises from the upstairs primary bedroom and she had the quiet of the downstairs bedroom. When my husband and older daughter joined us later in week - plenty of room for everyone. The home is beautiful, kitchen well stocked and views amazing!!!

Dream getaway!
This house was all I was hoping for, a quiet more secluded location, overlooking the ocean for our fall wedding anniversary. The house was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need for cooking, laundry going to the beach. We only cooked breakfast there but I was amazed how the kitchen had everything you would need to cook up some wonderful Maine lobster meals. I could not wait to get here and sit in the red chairs and enjoy the ocean view and sounds but even better I was able to star gaze at a million stars. Thank Eric and Laurie for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

Breathtaking
We absolutely loved our stay at the Friendly Cottage! It's a beautiful, peaceful area and one we will be telling others about. Lots of wonderful local restaurants and a little gift shop at the end of the island. A wonderful secluded beach is just down the road. The main bedroom upstairs has a super cozy bed and amazing sunrises to start your day. Thank you for sharing your place with us. We hope to visit again!

Charming Peaceful Home
We recently stayed here for three nights after spending the previous four days in Bar Harbor. We loved our place in Bar Harbor, but the setting here was much preferred. It is a wonderful place. The views from the family room and the master bedroom are like a post card. The house was impeccably clean and well appointed. The owners live next door, but were not intrusive and welcome you to use the chairs on their lawn overlooking the ocean below. The island is a little quirky in a good way and there are a few old school dining options that we enjoyed. The one downside was a lack of walking trails, other than the Giant Steps trail. The location is a good launching point for visiting other charming southern Maine cities, such as Camden, Freeport, and Portland. The only small nits were the thermostat – it wasn’t clear to me that I was working it correctly. We also were unable to get the Hulu function on the TV to work, but we didn’t go there to watch TV. I highly recommend this beautiful home.
