Great condo; poor management practices
The good: The condo was clean and comfortable and the view was gorgeous. The security guards enforce the rules (parking, quiet hours, guest conduct), which we really appreciated. We had an issue with the garbage disposal and Young's Suncoast sent maintenance personnel promptly to resolve the issue. We were traveling with young children so we appreciated the child locks on the front door and balcony doors. We would definitely stay here again based on the condo itself.
The bad: The policies and practices of the management company, Young's Suncoast. After booking they emailed a "rental contract" and said I had to sign it. Included in the contract were cancellation and refund policies significantly worse than those we agreed to when we booked through VRBO. I contacted VRBO customer support about the discrepancy and was told I didn't have to sign the rental contract since it contradicted the policies advertised on VRBO at the time of booking.
The worst part of the experience was check in. The VRBO listing said check in was at 4 pm. We arrived at 4:15 and still had not been provided with the code to get into the unit. I called Young's Suncoast and was informed that they believe check in "STARTS" at 4 pm, meaning they don't actually have to provide access to your unit at any particular time. So be aware that you may not get access to the unit until hours after the stated check in time based on their insane interpretation of what "check in time" means.
