Save Your Money, Stay Somewhere Else!!

We rented this property in June 2022. I read the previous reviews and looked forward to a great stay while we attended a family reunion nearby. Unfortunately, all the previous reviews were from 2 or 3 years ago. We rented all four bedrooms. The first thing noticed the front door would neither close all the way or lock. At night I put a chair against it luckily, the bedroom doors had locks. The place was awfully dirty. We cleaned the entrance, dusted the furniture and tried to clean the bathrooms. The back deck and outside furniture were too dirty to bother with. It was so bad my two sisters wanted to leave the first night. None of us would get into the beds, we slept on top. The bathroom showers were terrible! Even the towels in my bathroom were either stained or dirty. It was 90 degrees during the day, the owner controls the ac he only turned it on the first night, the other nights we sweated. We actually did leave after only two nights even though we had paid for three. Save your money, stay somewhere else.

Cozy

Big bedrooms. Nice decor. Owner very friendly amd helpful. Cozy living space. Great TV with fun movie selection and board games. Didn’t realize it from the listing but this is a lodge. We rented the whole lodge and had all the rooms to ourself including living room and (tiny) kitchen. (Thought it was a 4 bedroom house). Wouldn’t be my choice to just rent a room and have strangers in the other rooms. But I can see the convenience of it. And others might like that type of arrangement. Right on Hwy 88. No place to walk if that’s what you’re in to. Easy driving to Kirkwood. Over all had a good stay.

Cabin at Black’s Station

The hosts, Chris and Craig, in a word....FANTASTIC! Super friendly and very kind....Chris called us “My Darlings!” Does it get better than that? The cabin sits at about 4200’ elevation and only 20-25 minutes from several snow/recreation areas. We were able to drive on Christmas Day to an area at 7000+ elevation and experienced our White Christmas...my very first one ever! The cabin has 4 large bedrooms each with it’s own bathroom. There is also a comfy common area replete with a wood burning stove. NOTE: The kitchen is very small but has a full size refrigerator a gas oven and microwave. Additionally, there is a porch in the front of the cabin with a small sitting area and a huge deck in the back overlooking the national forest that has seating and a bbq grill. There is a full service restaurant next door that gets very good reviews (run by Chris and Craig), though we did not use it. We opted to cook all our own meals. We can’t wait until C-19 is over so we can go up and enjoy all the amenities, eat outdoors and eat at the restaurant.

Cozy cabin

We stayed here over thanksgiving with an infant and 2 toddlers. They made us a thanksgiving meal and brought it over to us- it was delicious and very much appreciated! The cabin was so cozy. The kitchen is very small but manageable (only one person fits in the kitchen at a time) and one of the bathrooms didn’t have a working outlet. But overall We had a great time. My 3 year old loved the pot bellied pig and the bunk bed. The beds were all super comfy and We loved the fireplace. I would stay here again !

Great Getaway with Wonderful Hosts

We had a lovely long weekend. Lots of hiking, mountain lakes, and nature -- without the crowds of other areas. The hosts, Craig and Chris, were wonderful. They made exquisite meals and were very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to going back.

Spacious cabin in convenient location

Craig and Chris were great hosts with a lovely cabin. The fireplace was a great way to keep warm and toasty and love that the cabin was dog friendly. They even provided a really nice doggie bed that the pups loved. They live on the same property and were helpful at check in and nearby if we had questions but otherwise gave us our privacy. One thing to note is that the kitchen is small and doesn’t come well stocked if you do plan on using it at all. It was a great deal and we had a lovely New Years get away.

Would definitely stay again in summer or winter!

My boyfriend and I came here with three other couples for New Years and we absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was clean, cute, and cozy. A nice added touch was each room had its own bathroom and there was a wood burning fireplace that kept us toasty! The cabin hosts were super friendly and helpful but not overbearing. We all agree we would love to stay here again!

Warm & Cozy

We came as a family group and could not have been more happy with the cabin. Clean and updated features as well as very friendly owners. We did not avail the restaurant but there were plenty of customers so the food must be great. We did have a cocktail beside the central fireplace which made for a warm and congenial evening. We highly recommend this place and we plan to return maybe this summer. Thanks to Chris & Craig!
