About this property

Nature retreat : 10m to Huskisson & beaches

Awaken to bird song amongst the trees in a comfy, country cottage. Peaceful, spacious and private. No neighbours to be seen or heard.

3 bedrooms with huge outdoor area on 8 acre bushland property. Enjoy the wildlife, our resident kangaroos, roaming chickens and 400m nature trail. Unlike other near listings, we are not located in a suburban housing estate with a small yard.

Great place to explore beautiful Jervis Bay. 10 minutes drive to restaurants and cafes of Huskisson. Near Hyams Beach and national parks.

THE HOUSE
3 big bedrooms with 2 x queen beds, & 2 x bunks. Upgraded kitchen, and polished timber floors throughout. Separate dining room, large nicely styled lounge with stereo and Smart TV (BYO Netflix). Fast wifi. NB The bunks are kids bunks. Bottom bunks will suit adults but the top bunks best for kids.

Huge yard and use of plenty of outdoor space on the property. Large outdoor entertaining area, with BBQ and outdoor setting.

Hosts live on another house 180m away on the 8 acre property. NB Unlike many other local suburban listings - the yard is massive.

THE AREA
Green and quiet area. 10 minutes to Vincentia supermarket with Aldi, butcher, Woolworths etc. Handy to many shops in Nowra (15 mins). Close to Huskisson and it’s restaurants, pubs and cafes (10 m drive). Short drive to Booderee National Park for walks, swimming and snorkelling.. Horse riding, kayaking, dolphin and whale watching cruises, and good brewery 7m drive down the road.

NOTE
> There is an unfenced dam on the property.
> Please bring your own beach towels.
> There is one toilet and one seperate shower room with bath.
> There is one air conditioner in the lounge room - it is an older air conditioner. Fans are provided for bedrooms.
> There is a gas heater in the dining room and some bar heaters in the bedroom
> The house has an outdoor fire pit for winter time

Peaceful and private
Had a great time staying at this property with some friends. The area is peaceful and close to a few different beaches. We enjoyed the big yard and BBQ. Would recommend if you want something spacious, quiet, green and away from the crowds. Left feeling very relaxed and we enjoyed seeing the kangaroos.

One of the best finds around Jervis Bay
The host has been very very accommodative, timely and thorough with updating us with the property. Lots of birds, the resident kangaroo and the chickens made it a really nice stay.

Relaxing cottage in nature
We loved staying in the cottage. It’s quiet and very spacious. Lots of room for the kids outside and inside. We loved seeing the chickens in the garden and seeing kangaroos. The hosts are friendly and helpful and we enjoyed some freshly laid eggs. Would recommend.

Terrible for the price
Paid quite a premium for our stay in Dec'23. Booked for 9 people, still had someone knocking at the door saying there seem to be too many people at the property. We had to remind them that we have booked and paid for 9. The house is in a terrible shape. No exhaust/ ventilation in the toilet. The coffee machine, toaster looked like they have not been cleaned in ages. Toaster had crumbs/ dirt/ gunk inside, and coffee tamper was quite dirty so we did not end up checking what the machine would be like and did not use any of these items. The house is advertised as a property with air conditioner, but has just 1 AC may be from the 90's fitted in the living room only. No central air conditioning so no cooling in the bed rooms. There were spider webs all around the corners, under the tables, under the bunk beds etc. and it made it difficult to get the kids to sleep. Long life milk which perhaps they have kept as courtesy.. since forever ... had an expiry date of Feb 2023 ! We were visiting the place in December 2023. The laundry room located outside was filthy too. Not sure why we are charged so much for property maintenance when I am sure nothing much is being spent on the upkeep of this property. Looking to attach pictures somehow, but can't.

About the host

Hello! We are Jax and Scott and we will host you on our 8 acre bush retreat. The property has two houses on it and we live in the second house. Neither house in is eye sight or ear shot of the other. We are well travelled, nature-loving creatives who have recently purchased this beautiful property! We love it here and enjoy the quiet, the kangaroos in the yard, the bird life including the new ducklings in our dam.

Why they chose this property

Husky Hideaway is a well appointed, spacious nature lovers paradise close to the many water ways of the Shoalhaven. There is so much space and lots of birds, kangaroos and other wildlife around. The house is spacious enough for 2 families.

What makes this property unique

Lots of outdoor space and lots of beautiful places to see at close proximity. We are so close to beautiful nature locations, as well as quality restaurants and there are lots of activities to do in the area.
