About this property

Outdoor Spa and Sauna with Spectacular Views

Just 10 mins from Launceston CBD, opposite Tamar Island Wetlands, this cozy escape is surrounded by native bush, beatiful garden and wildlife, boasting an outdoor spa with a fire pit and cedar sauna—set against breathtaking views. Inside features bespoke handcrafted furnishings and decors, with a focus on solid native timber that exudes warmth and character. Jaclyn's studio is a labour of love, filled with natural textures & quality amenities for your relaxation, recreation, and revitalization.

Bathed in abundant natural light and nestled within a private rock garden, this exquisite open-plan space is thoughtfully designed to seamlessly blend style and functionality. Situated just a stone's throw away from the main house on the 3-acre property of native bush and meticulous gardens, it is entirely self-contained, featuring a fully equipped kitchenette and the option of an additional bedroom, separated by a foldable privacy screen/blind.

More than just accommodation, our aim is to curate a slow-stay experience that nurtures mindfulness, connection, and an appreciation for the present moment. We extend an invitation for you to break away from the fast-paced routines and fully immerse yourself in the essence of this temporary abode. As such, there is no television in the studio, but we have views out every window/door and everywhere you go, plus a plethora of slow-stay essentials:

• Spa with fire pit under the old oak tree
• Canadian red cedar sauna with outdoor shower
• Smeg espresso coffee machine
• Japanese handmade manual coffee grinder
• Cast iron teapot
• Assorted premium loose tea leaves
• Assorted mugs (choose your favourite)
• A cookie jar full of goodies
• Oversized fluffy cushions
• Snuggly throws
• Scented candles
• Books
• Premium natural SPA toiletries
• Freshly picked greens and flowers from our garden
• And much more……

Jaclyn's studio is lovingly envisioned by Jaclyn's mom and skillfully renovated by Jaclyn's dad. The design showcases the richness of local timber, including Tasmanian oak, blackwood, sassafras, and huon pine. Adorned with an eclectic collection of treasures, bespoke furnitures, beautiful books, and luxurious French flax linens, it's the perfect retreat for both couples and small families.

Breakfast provisions: local sourdough bread, Tasmanian butter & jam, Tasmanian milk, free range eggs, premium loose leaf teas, local roasted coffee beans, Tasmanian sea salt, pepper, olive oil.
And fresh garden greens from our garden (please make a request)

Gatherings or parties of any kind are restricted unless agreed to by prior arrangement with us.

Please note that the sofa bed is not pre-made; however, the bedding required would be available in the cupboard.

Little Christmas Cottage
We stayed at the property over Christmas, upon arrival we were delighted to find out that the place had been nicely decorated for Christmas. The property is as nice as it looks on the picture. Sauna was the main hit for us but we also used jacuzzi and had some marshmallows at the bonfire.By far it was the nicest place we stayed in, while in Tasmania.

Historic property beautifully done up
Michelle and Ken have great taste in decorating and it shows in the guest rooms and the lounge. We had not realised the guestwing was attached to their living quarters but Michelle and Ken made sure we were comfortable. Would stay here again!
