Our beautiful home on the South Puget Sound waterfront of Anderson Island is located in one of the most scenic areas you can imagine. This is a great place to relax and walk on the beach and enjoy the wildlife. We have herons, eagles, deer, seals, and many smaller creatures to keep you company. Eagle Island, a marine state park, is within rowing distance of the house and also adds to the already spectacular view from the front windows . You can bring your own kayaks or rent from Anderson Island kayaks. If you're feeling adventuresome, the island has several beautiful hikes and nature walks nearby. Tennis courts and a 9 hole public golf course are just a short drive away. The swimming hole on Lake Florence is a fun place to go for a refreshing swim during the summer months. On cooler days, build a fire at home in one of our wood stoves, and curl up with a hot cup of Anderson Island roasted coffee and watch the boats go by. If you're inclined to eat out, there are two casual restaurants/cafes. The Island General Store will meet all of your basic grocery needs. Whether you live in the Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia area and just need a weekend get away, or you're coming from out of state and could use a Puget Sound fix, this is just a short, 20 minute ferry ride from the mainland, and a good place to leave your stress behind. If you prefer to bring your stress with you, we have great phone reception.

We had an amazingly relaxing, beautiful stay at the Madrone beach house. The house had everything we needed and was full of beautiful little pieces of art that we both enjoyed discovering. We brought our kayaks and had a great time paddling around the area amongst the harbor seals. We couldn't have had a more pleasant stay and would love to come back in the future.
Came up to look at homes in the great PNW. Staying at the house exceeded our expectations. Already miss my morning coffee with the deer, seals and Bald Eagles.
This house was a perfect stop for my wife and I on a cross country trip. We needed a relaxing place to stop for a couple of days and Anderson Island was perfect for that. The house was as advertised and the host answered all of our questions. I only wish I had planned more time to stay at the house.
We enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. Location was beautiful along with delightful scenery. We enjoyed the large windows throughout the house. The house was very well-suited for two couples. Our one big concern was the condition of the deck. It had broken tiles on both the steps and surface. Also the Blackstone grill not been cleaned. Other than that, we found our stay very comfortable.
Comfortable, our every need was thoughtfully cared for. The beach access was wonderful and an easy walk. We enjoyed watching the herons and seals, were able to kayak to Eagle Island for a picnic and ride our bikes to our hearts content. The home was very well stocked, clean and comfortable. Our hosts responded quickly to any questions we had. We will stay there again! Thank you so much.

Great House Just Steps From the Beach
A fun place to stay with so many interesting trinkets and books and other interesting things to see in the house. And then outside is a beautiful large yard that goes right to the beach. Can't ask for anything more than that.

Lovely, private location!
This location on Anderson Island is perfect, affording views of the Olympics, Eagle Island and Puget Sound. A large yard and beach access encourage exploring outside. The owner is a gracious host, making you feel at home right away. The house is delightfully eclectic, but very busy. Small children may have trouble not touching/breaking the many trinkets decorating this house. The open concept of the home makes it an easy place to lounge when the weather doesn't allow you to beach comb. However, the accommodations are most comfortable for 4-5. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need including spices, foil/plastic wrap and the basics, but a bit on the cluttered side, leaving little work space for food prep. There is no doubt that you would enjoy your stay at the Madrone Beach House!

Wonderful home in a beautiful setting
We had planned to take a few days of trip in a quite place after a hectic time in Seattle. What we got was a home in a perfect little corner of the world. The beach was perfect for a long stroll and the kids loved skiing rock and paddling. The house itself is of early nineties vintage but well done and an open, bright, welcoming space.

Amazing! We didn't want to leave. We loved kayaking around the bend to look at MT Rainer!! H&L produce was a score- we enjoyed cooking our own meals and eating down by the water!

We had a wonderful stay at Madrona Beach House. The home was spacious, but very homey and warm. The view was absolutely amazing and the beach was perfect for walking and exploring. I would whole-heartedly recommend this rental for a great escape.

Anderson Island get away
Our trip was to visit our son in the area. He along with his girlfriend and teen-aged son met us at the beach house for the weekend. Gary and Lynn provided excellent information about the area before our trip along with suggestions while we were in the area. The home is amazing in its design and location. It was fully stocked with food and wine with only the request to replenish what was used. Relaxing in the sauna after a dip in the waters of Puget Sound, an island art show, and sight seeing around the island kept us busy. The Lakeside Restaurant, coffee shop and general store provided meals and any incidentals we needed. The weather was very accommodating with enough sunshine to see Mt. Rainier in its entirety from the island on several occasions. We have discussed a similar trip in the future. Hope Madrone Beach House will be available if and when that happens.
