This property is an excellent location and it is big with plenty room for 4 adults and some kids to spread out in. It was also well stocked with many things you would need, especially for younger kids as there were toys and a wash basin for a infant that was unexpected and nice to have.
That said, this property could be maintained much better. Everything in the unit seems kind of old and worn out. Generally this is not a huge concern of mine with most beach rentals, some furniture showing wear is not big deal really, but this unit just feels like its in need of a refresh.
The patio furniture is also horrendous. Not because its broken, but because they have not one, but two huge tables on this tiny little balcony that take up at least 2/3s of all the space on the balaclava. Why are these so big? A small bistro table and some chairs is all you need. The furniture makes the balcony almost unusable as there is just no space to move around at all.
We also had some issues with a leaking and broken kitchen faucet and had requested multi times to have someone figure out if the beach sand wash off station could be turned on during our stay (it was still not turned on after our 7 days there). Also all the sheets/ towels/pillows/linens provided were like everything else - old, cheap, and worn out. The mattresses on the beds also felt very cheap and just were not all that great to sleep on. I wasn't expecting 5 start hotel quality, but we have stayed at many rental units over multiple visits to Indian Shores and this one was by far the oldest / most worn out.
Another issues is the street traffic can be heard very easily from the lower level master bed room and they only have a very light / white / sheer curtain on the sliding door. So by 7am, the room is totally filled with light in the morning. This could be remedied very easily by installing a heavier, light blocking curtain which would also help with the noise. Ultimately, the sliding door in this room seems very old and worn out (much like other things in the unit). It seems like there must be some air gaps or it is just incredibly thin glass because the traffic noise from the street is about the same if you have the door open or closed.
Overall, the location and amazing beach access outweigh any of most of the complaints, but if you are spending upwards of $550 a night for a rental, you expect the furnishings to be a certain level of quality and I ultimately feel they are not at that level here.
