Best Host

I somehow booked for the wrong dates, and when I arrived to check in, there was already someone there at home. I called the host right away, as I was confused. She called me back promptly, understood my situation, and worked with me to find a solution. after about 30 minutes. she found a property that wasn't ready for checking, but she had her team go and get it ready, within 2-3 hours I had a place to stay for the weekend. and she didn't even charge me for my mistake. I would stay at one of her properties again. Not to mention that the house was clean, beautiful, and much bigger than I had booked originally.

60th Birthday Weekend!

This was our first visit to Highlands and we loved it! The cabin was exactly as described. Great location, close to town but also felt like we were in the woods. Easy check in, and the house was immaculate. Comfy beds. We didn’t do any cooking on our 3 night stay, with so many great places to eat out, but the kitchen was well equipped.

Weekend Getaway!

Loved our short stay in Highlands here. Such an easy walk to town, even with our stroller! The house was a classic cabin feel, and super clean. We loved the touch of the towels and even toilet paper tied into bows. It was perfect for our family of 3! I will say the stairs inside are a little steep, so just be aware of that. The bedrooms are on the basement level and the living is on the main level. We didn’t mind this at all. Would definitely recommend this place!

Week long stay with kids

Clean, very comfortable beds, lovely porch with forest view, pretty trail into town. All amenities available including soaps, detergent etc. would stay here again.

perfect location!

The property is exactly as pictured. We enjoyed walking around the town and neighborhood. The TV doesn't subscribe to all of the apps that are pictured on it. Other than that it was a great stay!

Great for a small family

Great location. Loved being in town but also in the woods. Fit our small family well. Had everything we needed. The door at the top of the stairs locks so we were able to let our toddler walk around without worrying about him falling down the stair, which was great!

This was the perfect place for our family to stay. The updates made to the cabin were really nice and made for a very comfortable stay. The proximity to downtown made for an easy walk. We will definitely be booking again in the future!

Perfect cabin!

We absolutely LOVED this property! The cabin is pristinely clean - and beautifully decorated. The back porches look over a forest and it’s just a wonderful feeling of seclusion yet within walking distance to everything in the heart of Highlands.

Great location - nice property

The property location is super convenient and very nice. There was an issue with the access code to enter the property and we were unable to reach the property manager immediately. Due to a tight schedule we had, we were anxious that there might be an issue with the booking, but Holly called us back within 15 minutes and we were able to get in. She explained she was out of cell service when we first called. We highly recommend this property.

Great property and location

This was our second time to rent this property, and we are already thinking about a return! This clean, cozy and well-maintained cabin is only a 5-10 minute walk from all of the stores and restaurants on Main Street. Highly recommended!

We really felt like we got away.

Overall we had a great experience at the Spotted Owl. Cozy, romantic, great location and view. Very clean and updated. Responsive management company. A few areas for improvement: could use a larger tv, ice maker or ice trays, more cookware, softer pillows and softer king mattress. For a great hike, Glen Falls has beautiful views and is only a seven minute drive from the house.

Small nicely remodeled cabin close to town

The cabin has been nicely remodeled with vinyl plank flooring, wood paneling, appliances and farm sink. The linens are nice and towels fluffy. The bedrooms are downstairs (as now noted in the description-wasn’t the case when we rented) and the stairs are narrow and steep. There is no comfortable seating in the LR….one wingback chair, one cain back, a sofa and a very small side table. There were no ottomans, foot rests or coffee table. If you are looking for a place close to town to sleep, and will be outside most of the time, it’s a place to stay. We were there in February and found it too uncomfortable to spend our days inside - we left after the first night.

Perfect Location

We came for a wedding that was held at the farm at Old Edwards Inn, and this was the perfect location without the Old Edwards price tag. Very clean, updated and quaint. Super easy getting downtown and back.

Perfect little cabin

Adorable cabin with all updated interiors sits just ba block off Main Street. This was perfect for our family of four. Great spot for active folks who will be spending most of their time out and about. Very comfortable bedding with high quality linens and the kitchen has all brand new appliances. Huge outdoor screen porches. We will definitely be back!
