About this property

Incredible Central Downtown Vancouver Location, New Décor and Furnishing, Two Miles to Waterfront

Sitting in the heart of Vancouver just a short drive from the waterfront, this fantastic retreat is perfect for a small group or family. Every bit of the furnishing and décor was procured to create the perfect blend of style and comfort.

Upon entering you are greeted with a cozy living space. Connected on one side is the kitchen with its eat in dining room and on the other two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The entire floor is bathed in natural light making it a comfortable at all times.

Descending to the lower level is a warm carpeted space with an additional plush seating area for some high speed streaming on the big screen LED. Just off this room is the third bedroom. The second full bathroom and laundry facilities are here as well.

We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can't control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please stay indoors during this time, keep the windows and doors closed and keep the volume to an enjoyable but reasonable level. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring the interior of the house.

The backyard is comfortable and quiet. There is a detached ADU in the back that at times has a guest so it isn't entirely private to your group but they will be completely respectful of the space for your stay.

Cute home close to downtown
This is the second time we have stayed at the Garrett Family retreat. The home itself is cute and comfortably appointed. Close enough to downtown to walk to the Saturday market or for dinner in the evening. We look forward to staying again on our next trip.

Great Stay
Our stay was so relaxing and lovely, completely felt at home. The owner is awesome at communication and makes sure we are comfortable in our stay. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and equipments, everything is well thought of in the house.Tastefully decorated house with good collection of books. The house needs a little bit of maintenance (like few doorknob fixes, updates to the door lock etc.) but nothing that would not make us rent this again! Lovely experience for us overall!

House was very nice and conveniently located! Although it had two bathrooms, we were only comfortable using one of the showers. The main level bathroom has a footed tub and not easy to climb in and out of. Also, the wraparound shower curtain and spray wand made it harder to feel uncomfortable in the shower. This may have been mentioned in the info, but I didn’t remember seeing it. Everything else was excellent!

My mother, brother and I came to Vancouver for my daughter’s nursing graduation from Clark College of Nursing. We had the opportunity to stay for a week. This location was perfect for us. The house was extremely comfortable with two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs, living rooms and bathrooms both upstairs and down stairs. A beautiful sitting/reading room and the washroom were an added bonus. My brother is in treatment for cancer and was ill much of the time. This lovely home gave him a place of rest and respite. We were able to go to the water front for some fabulous meals and local shopping the days he was well. Plus the pharmacy was near by. The kitchen was perfect for in house meals and snack times. I highly recommend this home on your next visit to Vancouver Washington.

Comfortable downtown living
The house was great for our family. It is an older developed neighborhood very close to downtown. We had tons of restaurants, the waterfront and grocery stores nearby. The neighbors were all nice and the houses all have good landscaping. It as a safe area. The house had three comfortable rooms and 2 bathrooms. There were two separate TV living rooms and my boys enjoyed having their own space downstairs.

Garrett Retreat
From check in to check out has been fabulous!! The house was perfect for friends and family to visit, The kitchen is awesome, and that reading nook, gave me all kinds of ideas!! I lived in Portland/Vancouver over 20 years, and my parents over 50 years, it was good to come back and Garrett Retreat was the perfect place to stay! Thank Y’all!

This house is a great value for the price. However I guess I didn't check photos close enough to see that it wasn't great for 2 or 3 in our party who have some difficulty with stairs and couldn't use the shower upstair do to the lovely footed bathtub that they could not get into. Shower downstairs was small and would have been difficult for them even without the stairs. We did enjoy our stay.

Great location
Overall the stay was okay. The location was awesome, and the house was really roomy, bright, and thoughtfully decorated. Check-in was easy and the management company was responsive and sent great directions. Unfortunately the place needs a little TLC -- the shower door was falling out of the wall, one of the bedroom doorknobs was completely broken (as was a window lock), and the kitchen and bathrooms could use a good scrubbing. Also, the beds are so so so hard, which is great if that's your thing, but I was happy to get home so I could get a good sleep.

Very cute, but a couple hiccups
Very nicely redone house in a great location in the Vancouver area. Just a couple things that prompted me to give 4/5 stars. 1) Fixes needed - smoke detector low battery alarm woke me up the first night; property manager was able to send someone later that day to change it, but the second night another detector low battery alarm started (thankfully stopped on its own). Also, the ice dispenser didn’t work, the downstairs shower door didn’t open well and a couple lights in the unit wouldn’t switch on. 2) Cleanliness- pretty good, but there was a hair stuck in one of the clean bathroom towels, a sticky black spot of grime in the upstairs bathroom and food crumbs on the couch. 3) Bugs - in the 36 hours I was there, saw ants on the bathroom counter, a large spider in the bathroom and another one on the coffee table, plus a dead earwig smashed against the wall in the downstairs bathroom.

A great place to stay in Vancouver, wa
The garret retreat is a charming and well run place. We stayed there for a week and were very happy with the place. It is very close to groceries and to excellent restaurants. The house is good sized and slept our party of four quite comfortably.

Clean place and nice. A few little quirky things since its an older house but that didn't change our feeling of the place. They respond quickly when you have queaions. Make sure you have logins for your Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, etc since they dont have cable. Overall a great neighborhood and beautiful area.
