Gaze out your windows at the lazy Nehalem River and watch the incredible wildlife including otters, seals and bald eagles nest across the water when you stay at Coastal River Haven. This expansive home with a giant sunny deck and its own private 60 foot dock gives you a new take on a coastal stay. Bright and clean, with updated furnishings and plenty of natural light, the living room offers a large flat-screen TV and panoramic river views. You can eat in the dining room, but you’ll also be drawn to dine on the deck and watch the sun sparkle on the river and foothills. The spacious bedrooms include a queen master suite and king room each with a private balcony.

Dining and shopping in Nehalem are right out the door, you can be to the beach in Manzanita in ten minutes by car, and hiking Neahkahnie Mountain is just up the highway. You’re in a terrific spot for exploring the whole North Coast, but you might prefer to stay home, relax on the private dock, and fish or crab the Nehalem River. Either way, you’re in for a fantastic stay in this gorgeous coastal river retreat!

Charming Town Charming House

My wife and I spent a quiet time together for her birthday. The house was private, clean, and well stocked. The view was amazing! Nothing like having breakfast surrounded by windows and the river. Will definitely rent here again.

Cozy Weekend Getaway

Winter Crabbing Expedition

Tides and weather a Real Challenge. The house was ( as before ) a wonderful shelter and cozy getaway Super convenient with all amenities. For us , a little luxurious .Nice to have the Meredith office in Manzanita , if needed. I cannot recommend this spot enough.

Great home! Very clean, everything was conveniently labeled, and cute location. As another review mentioned, the code for the outside door wasn’t provided, but the phone number for assistance picked up immediately and provided us with the code. Highly recommend.

Exquisite property with a view to the river

Beautiful property along the Nehalem River. Very spacious and clean, close to beaches, trails and restaurants. I was hesitant when realized how close it was to the 101 but it was not an issue at all. Very satisfied in every way.

It was great

Siri took us to the wrong location, so don’t trust Apple Maps. Once we got there it was great. Check in was easy and the space was nice. The house is in a beautiful location. Loved watching the birds in the morning, even saw an eagle. The stars were awesome at night. We had a wonderful time visiting Nehalem and surrounding Oregon.

CRABBING TRIP

Awesome spot. Clearly the dock is the big plus here. The house is large , clean , well apportioned. Just all around a great place Proximity to Hwy 101 a little noisy ( semis ) in the early morning. Crab cooker / pot available in the shed down on the dock area. ( We filled the propane bottle in town ) Battery charger , and extension cord down on the dock sure came in handy when our boat battery was drained . Really a lovely property....we plan on coming back here.

super comfy

spent 5 nights here with a friend and kids and it was everything the listing said it was. everything is pretty close by. the home was clean, the home was comfy, the heaters worked great, there was bored games and movies and an old school playstation with a bunch of games! pretty cool!! the kids had a great stay and i had a great stay! will probably be back in june for the crab derby oh yeah!!

Great plave to stay

great view fully stocked house with cooking and supplies. Fire pit does not ignite- dangerous to light. BBQ is a p.o.c. and does not cook or grill or get hot. Pellit stove in living room does not work after many attemps and smoked up the house. unpluged it..

Perfect Nehalem River setting

The house on the Nehalem is perfect for those who love to fish. We enjoyed the ease of having our boat right there on the property’s dock. We did have issues with the TV which would not connect to the internet. Also, I made it known that we were in need of propane. We had to move the one full canister to the BBQ then move it back to the fire pit. Then repeat. The office was notified and they responded quickly but no one ever showed up to remedy the situation(s) It was disappointing. The house is clean for the most part but the carpet is in horrible shape. It needs to have a good cleaning. The beds were very comfortable. Road noise was not an issue at all. We had wonderful warm weather and each room had fans for cooling off. Great stay, except for whoever they have contracted for their maintenance. He/they were a no show. Lots of Apologies but no action.

Difficult to find, ridiculous cleaning fee

For whatever reason, apple maps does not route to the address listed on vrbo, and we ended up driving around for a bit trying to find the place. It was very clean and amenities were all labeled. My issue is that there is no mention of a checkout process in the online instructions, and when you arrive there's a laminated sheet detailing all the cleaning you must do before checking out. Laundry, dishwasher, taking the trash out, etc. if I'm being charged a triple digit cleaning fee for ONE NIGHT, I should not be doing all the cleaning for them. Absolutely ridiculous.

Great River House

For the most part we loved the house. Very comfortable with all amenities we needed. The location right on the river is amazing! Great deck and dock space. It is RIGHT next to HWY 101, which isn't great, but the noise from the hwy wasn't that noticeable. We didn't like how in the upstairs (where all three bedrooms are) has only one bathroom that is only accessible by walking through the master bedroom. It worked for us and our kids, but would be very awkward if you were sharing the house with non-family members. The other bathroom is downstairs off the kitchen. Also the main source of heat, a pellet stove, downstairs was out of order. That was a bummer since it was a very cold rainy weekend. We had to rely on the electric wall heaters. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return to this house again.

Lots of potential

The hose is cute, and the river and dock are beautiful! Unfortunately, we were not provided with a code to the outer gate, which was different from the inner gate, so we the first party that arrived waited an extremely long while, unable to get in, and we arrived to overflowing recycling full of alcohol containers (not only messy, but a bit difficult for an alcoholic guest in recovery). The place was in good shape, but we were freezing and the pellet stoves were out of pellets (only to find out the next day pellets weren’t/aren’t provided even though pellet stoves are mentioned in the listing)…there was a separate thermostat on the wall that we found later. The semi-truck/street traffic noise was pretty intense as well, waking us regularly throughout the night. The communication with the property management company about these issues was not unkind, but certainly didn’t feel understanding and there was no offer or effort to make things right. Overall, we felt pretty disappointed with the service.
