Everything was great but could use some more storage space like chest of drawers. We had to live out of our luggage in the primary bedroom because there was no other furniture.
We loved our stay at the Ridge House. We found the property to be exactly as we hoped based on the description on VRBO. Great location, beautiful location, gorgeous house and details, great communication with Colin. We would recommend to anyone.
Beautiful, spacious, nicely decorated home. We had a great long weekend skiing at Sugarbush and really enjoyed staying at Ridge House. Great views, lots of space and the kitchen was particularly nice. When they say this house is on the top of a private mountain, they are telling the truth; winter visitors, heed the 4-wheel drive requirement.
The house was very clean with spacious rooms for 3 couples and their babies/toddlers. There are some quirks to the property, but also some pleasant surprises like the master shower and heated floors. The house is close to Sugarbush mountain and Waitsfield, so everything is - in theory - a short trip away.
The slope leading up to the house is no joke. The owners clearly point this out in the house's description, but you will be at the mercy of the plow trucks in a large snow storm. The owners kindly left universal snow chains by the front door that can be used in a pinch, but I wouldn't even attempt to book this property in the winter without 4 wheel drive.
We almost had a bad time when the propane delivery truck attempted delivery in a snow storm, but refused after seeing the driveway. The gauge showed that the propane levels were non-existent, so we needed that delivery immediately. Josh, from the rental company, was very accommodating and was able to coordinate a plow and smaller truck to make it to the house before the heat shut off. Thanks, Josh!
Overall, we had a great time.
We just had a great stay with my family at the Ridge House. The house is beautiful and consistent with the pictures and reviews of others. Everything was spacious, well maintained, fully stocked (cooking utensils, pots/pans, grill, cleaning supplies, firewood, etc) and very clean.
We ended getting about 10-12” of snow during our stay which was great for skiing at sugarbush about 10 mins away. The snow also made the driveway a challenge for both SUVs w/ 4 wheel drive so if heading here in winter please note the comment on winter tires or snow chains, they are required to get up the driveway in snow (All season tires didn’t cut it). The property manager Josh was very helpful and responsive. We were able to park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up which wasn’t an issue for us but could be for tiny children or elderly (~1/4 mile long with 170 ft vertical climb according to iPhone).
I agree with the most recent review the bedrooms lack adequate lighting and it’s surprising to not have a dresser or closet available for storage in the master bedroom. Master bed was comfortable but lacked a headboard. Also surprised to see a ski house without a mud room to contain gear / messy feet.
Overall it’s a beautiful house and would recommend it!
We stayed at the Ridge house with close family friends and skied at Sugarbush. The house is beautiful, the proximity to the mountain is excellent. The house offers plenty of space yet feels cozy with the cabin like setting. A few small areas for improvement: driveway and walkways could be plowed for easier parking and ski storage, lighting in all bedrooms is lacking, master bedroom needs a dresser or appropriate clothing storage. Overall, the house is wonderful and we will definitely be back while skiing sugarbush.
Depending on the weather will definitely want 4wd/snow tires for driveway, as in listing. Property is gorgeous and good for a group spending time together.
This house is just as beautiful as it looks in pictures. We loved our stay, all the rooms were nice and the beds comfy. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We really enjoyed the big kitchen, porch, and fire pit. We would definitely stay again.
The property was a huge delight for our family of 5 (kids range 7, 12, 15). The photos didn't fully prepare us for how beautiful it is. The kitchen is deluxe with really nice pans, if you care about that sort of thing. The construction of the house is wonderful, if you care about that sort of thing. The linens made us feel both comfortable and fancy, if you care about that sort of thing. Our kids really dug the loft. If you have very young kids, this might not be your spot -- I would worry about the gorgeous main staircase. For our family with older kids (who can also take care of nice things), it was perfect. The primary suite shower was wonderful! We are looking forward to finding another time to go in a season when we can enjoy the deck.
Thoughtfully designed home has all the amenities needed for a great stay. Clean and comfortable furniture, bedding made for a relaxing stay. Kitchen has anything needed to prepare meals and plenty of room for family meals. Close to nearby attractions but secluded for a quiet stay. Hope to be back!
