3 generations of our family from 70yo to 4yo enjoyed the long weekend without a hitch in any facet of the stay. You know this is a fresh renovation because everything is in fine working order. All of the sliding doors work properly, the bathrooms don't have a cracked tile, the carpeting is clean, etc., and while that is great the real story here is the perfect lakefront setting. Starting with the views from the expansive deck, then the mildly steep but very manageable walk down to the water, and then the brand new dock featuring a sun deck that covers the two slips. Very helpful having the covered slip when a healthy thunderstorm came through Saturday night.
The dock also sits in a less trafficked cove off Big Creek, itself a desirable portion of the lake between Sequoyah and Whitman Hollow marinas with ample places to ski and tube or anchor and swim close by without the heavy traffic of the Deerfield areas. Being able to swing by the house from the lake quickly for whatnot was a huge plus.
The kitchen isn't huge but had everything we needed and the indoor and outdoor dining didn't make us feel like we were on top of each other for a larger group. The WiFi was temperamental at times but we had tons of devices connecting and ultimately helped us disconnect more often like we should have.
I would rent again as the Kanters were gracious hosts and made us feel welcome. Thanks again!
