Perfection in Te Anau

Our stay with Polly was just perfect for our couple of days in Te Anau. Comfortable and beautifully furnished with everything we needed. Communication including check in was seamless. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Polly.

Cosy room with stunning views

The room was so comfortable and beautifully setup. We loved taking in the lake and mountains and using this place as a stop on the way to Milford Sound.

Awesome accomodation and hospitality

Superb. We’ll be back. Te Anau was an awesome wee town, beautiful in its own right but also and good commute to Milford Sound and Queenstown. The hosts at this property were lovely and it’s beautifully set up. We’ll be back!

Great location

Amazing place - very comfy with amazing views. The bikes were an unexpected bonus. We enjoyed cycling around the lake and makes heading to town easier without needing to drive. We hope to be back one day

Amazing view and convenient location

Really enjoyed our stay at this property. Amazing views and yet convenient to town. Modern and very clean with hosts that were personable and super helpful. Would recommend this place to others without reservations.

Beyond expectations!

This property was absolutely immaculate, had everything we needed, including all that was required for a delicious breakfast. This was the first leg of our journey through South Island, if the remaining properties are any where near this good we will be extremely fortunate. Thanks Polly and Russell for wonderful stay in this piece of paradise.

Bright clean studio apartment

Just minutes outside of the town center but so peaceful with spectacular views of the lake and mountains Polly and Russell were super friendly the studio had everything that we needed for a great stay Thank you

A relaxing stay in modern apartment near mountains

This apartment is located near Te Anau, overlooking the mountains. It is very well-equipped and comfortable and the the hosts are kind and helpful. It is an excellent "home base" for those wanting to take day trips to places such as Milford Sound and the southern coast (Bluff, Curio Bay) and hike in the mountains nearby.

Idyllic Spot in Te Anau

This is a fabulous place to stay! We couldn’t get over the spectacular views in every direction, including our bedroom window! We couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable and private place that was very convenient to town, too! Polly was a gracious host who even did our laundry for us! Outstanding place that we hope to stay again someday!

About the host

Russell and I have lived in Southland New Zealand all our lives other than 8 years we spent living in Hawea near Wanaka. We are retired farmers and moved to Hawea after selling our farm 16 years ago. While living in Hawea we run a bed and breakfast and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. Wanting to be closer to our 3 young grand children we moved to Te Anau where four years ago we built our beautiful home near the edge of Lake Te Anau.

Why they chose this property

The guest room has panoramic views of the Mountains in Fiordland national park and of Lake Te Anau which is only 300 meters from the home. Te Anau township is a 5 minute drive with many fine restaurants for dining or take away.
