Step Back In Time...Welcome to our Farmhouse! Particularly suitable for couples and adult friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern day life and capture the simplicity of the "Good Ole Days"

Cedar Oaks Inn Is located in Dickinson. The property is 19 miles from Galveston and 20 miles from Houston and free private parking is provided.

The Birdcage Saloon offers a private saloon, terrace and courtyard. This 1800's carriage house has a spacious open floor plan that embodies the charms of its original era. This is a 1400 sq ft two story carriage house with a saloon on the first floor and bedroom on top floor. The name Birdcage Saloon is a saloon, decorated to look like 1800 to early 1900's with many original pieces of art no detail was left untouched from the card table to the back of the bathroom doors, art is everywhere along with a custom made fifteen foot bar. The bar is equipped with a wine frig, ice maker, sink and anything else you would need in a bar. (bring your own liquor) There is plenty to do in this room with a pool table, card table etc. Also you will find a full bath with huge walk in shower with three shower heads one is a huge rainfall shower head.

Downstairs off the living area there is a peaceful court yard with water feature and plenty of seating. Once you make your way upstairs to the beautifully decorated bedroom with a custom painted mural and many other custom features from the hand forged iron king bed to the painted vanity. There is a full bath with a 6 ft soaking tub and double vanity. A sitting area with a coffee/wine bar with mini frig. Just off the bedroom is a very large balcony with dining and seating, or if you just want to relax on the double chaise. The balcony over looks the magnificent pool and gardens. This is a one of a kind special place to enjoy anytime or spend a special occasions with your loved one. Each morning you will be served a gourmet breakfast with the option of Mimosa or Bloody Mary at 10 am.

What an Awesome Find!!

The wife and I were searching for unique and fun places to celebrate our anniversary. Anybody can get a hotel...we love VRBO because of the cool places to stay. This was by FAR the coolest we have ever been in. Tonya and Jeff have put so much TLC into their lovely Carriage House. We were swept back to the late 1800's...but with all the amenities of today. Pictures don't tell the whole story. Treat yourself and your partner...Everyone needs to experience this awesome property...we will definitely return! Thanks to Tonya and Jeff for the wonderful stay, great conversation and incredible food!! This deserves way more than 5 stars!!

Paradise!

We have stayed at Cedar Oaks twice this year because we always have the best time. Tanya and Jeff are amazing hosts who treat their guests like family. The saloon is a two story, private, luxury getaway and the backyard is an oasis! Breakfast is gourmet each morning. You are close to Houston, Galveston, NASA, Kemah, and lots of good food. Amazing B&B!!

I can’t say enough nice things about our experience at the Cedar Oaks Inn B&B. The room was very spacious and very clean. The property was beautiful. The food was five star gourmet. Magical!

Cedar Oaks is lovely in every way! Tucked away on it’s own, it’s a wonderful enclave full of magical moments to discover during your stay. We stayed in the Birdcage Saloon which was such fun, reminiscent of an upscale New Orleans saloon with a bordello upstairs. Every detail has been so well considered, from yummy velvet throws to even beer on tap. The owners, Tanya and Jeff, are so warm and fun and accommodating, respectful of your privacy but there when you want them. Tanya’s design talent is inspiring, we especially loved her beautiful hand painted furniture. The pool was perfect for relaxing afternoons (even better with one of Jeff’s margaritas) and the adjoining spa and fireplace with hundreds of fairy lights in the trees made for enchanting evenings. The other building on the property, the Barracks, was also utterly charming in it’s unique way. It would be perfect to rent both buildings with friends or family for a really fun getaway. We will see you again, Tanya and Jeff, thank you for your incredible hospitality!

Return to paradise

This was my second time staying at Cedar Oaks Inn, and just like the first time it didn’t disappoint! The Nusses go to great lengths to spoil their guests! The property is so beautiful and relaxing! I booked this property for my best friend and I to enjoy her birthday for the weekend! We are both moms of small children so the relaxing weekend was exactly what we needed for rejuvenate! We rented the birdcage saloon which is fantastically decorated! The bed upstairs is so comfy, we had a hard time getting out of bed. We enjoyed coffee on the upstairs balcony, surrounded by beautiful green vines. We swam in their beautiful, luxurious pool all day. Jeff brought us his signature margarita which, in my humble opinion, was the best margarita Ive ever had. We were treated to amazing breakfast each morning of our stay. Tanya’s cooking should be world famous. This place is a must see bucket list stay!

This property and its owners Tanya and Jeff are both unrivaled - above and beyond exceptional! Cedar Oaks Inn is nothing short of an oasis, located in the most unlikely spot. It is in the heart of Dickinson but when you are at the property you feel as though you are at a lush tropical paradise in Costa Rica. The antiques, painting and décor is jaw-dropping and the breakfasts are AMAZING! The pool, hot tub, fire pit, arbor retreat and lush grounds are incredible! Above all else, Tanya and Jeff are tow of the most welcoming, kind and conscientious hosts on the planet! They have anticipated and prepared for their guests' every need. Peaceful and Relaxing Stay

We were greeted by friendly smiles and the cutest well behaved doggies. True Texan hospitality, Tanya and Jeff were wonderful hosts, they prepared a very delicious breakfast each morning. My husband and I spent a very quiet weekend at this gorgeous property, lots of greenery and flowers, the pool was amazing and relaxing. The best part for us was that we had the entire place for ourselves, very private. The saloon itself is very spacious, the bedroom is upstairs and it's huge, super comfortable bed and pillows, downstairs bar and pool table. Now, this is probably irrelevant to most people, although this is for adults only, I must add that the Saloon themed decoration includes topless and fully nude pictures of women everywhere, so it may not be suitable for all. Tanya and Jeff, I sincerely wish you the best, may your dreams come to fruition.

Wonderful Anniversary Weekend!

We had an amazing, relaxing weekend celebrating our anniversary in this romantic getaway. Tanya and Jeff are perfect hosts - friendly, warm and welcoming while giving lots of privacy for you to enjoy this special property. And enjoy it we did! The pool area is gorgeous- we ate the delicious breakfasts poolside, watching the cats play in the sun. We relaxed in the hot tub, which can be made completely private with cabana curtains. Jeff made my husband a killer Bloody Mary every morning. When we arrived Tanya had thoughtfully provided a meat, cheese and fruit plate as well as a special anniversary cake. Jeff can make a great mocktail too! I’ve never felt so “cared for” in a VRBO experience! They also recommended an antique mall in Alvin and we found quite a few treasures. We’ll be back!

Sensational Stay

Well, the reviews were all true!! My husband and I stumbled on this hidden gem while looking to get away for our wedding anniversary. We frequent Galveston and had every intention of spending our days at the beach. What a joke! We parked our car upon arrival and never stepped foot off the property the entire visit. I've heard and read that happens often here, so you've been warned. There's not much else I can say about Tanya, Jeff, or the wonderful space they've created that has not already been said. Just book it, you will NOT be disappointed. We did not want to leave and we cannot wait to return. Our favorite things were EVERYTHING! I've never slept in a more comfortable bed and I've never felt so safe and comfortable outdoors as I did during our stay. Tanya is an amazing cook and Jeff makes some slammin' margaritas! They are living their passion and IT SHOWS! They've truly thought of everything and then some. Perfect weekend!

Beautiful place with great people

I had a lovely time at the Birdcage Saloon. I was seeking some peace and a beautiful place to read books and journal and just generally feel like I had escaped my everyday life and the saloon delivered!! This place is beautiful and elegant and comfortable. The whole property is set up for guests to roam and enjoy what they have built here. I felt bad that I just wanted to sit in the bathtub and read books on a cloudy day, but not too bad because it was amazing :) The food was also amazing, The hosts so kind, and the bed is SO COMFORTABLE. The drive to Galveston is short and straight forward, a perfect day trip to the beach. And the wood fire by the hot tub is a must every single night: This is definitely more of a place with groups or couples in mind than solo-travelers. I hope to return someday (sooner than later) when I’m part of a couple again haha.

Amazing chic romantic getaway!

Private saloon with bordello themed bedroom upstairs. Tanya and Jeff were great hosts, attending to every need or whim! They surprised me with cake, champagne on ice, and balloons as I was celebrating my 50th birthday. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Pool and backyard patio are an excellent oasis! You will have as much privacy as you like to enjoy such a romantic getaway. We will absolutely come back. Only issue was wifi was unavailable but that just forced us to unplug even more!!

Where do I even begin?! The moment we got out of the car, Jeff was waiting for us outside and eager to get us checked in and show us around. His personality was boisterous and classy. We instantly knew we were had booked the perfect getaway! We put our things in the saloon and let me tell you, this place was jaw dropping. This was our initial impression after walking in the door only seconds after laying our eyes on it. We didn’t have time to get settled and this firecracker of a woman (Tanya) walked in the saloon and asked us to join them for a drink. I was full of excitement at this point because not only was Tanya exuding with impeccable vibes, I could tell that she was about to make our lives heavenly for the weekend! Upon entering the main house, my eyes and soul were overwhelmed by the most amazing sight. NOT ONE detail was spared. This house is superior to any other B & B you could imagine. The amount of work and detail they have put into this wonderful piece of history they call home, is beyond anything you could fathom. We were lead to the bar area, where a drink of our choice was neatly prepared as we were primed for the rest of the tour. They showed us every inch of this magical home, even the front yard. They missed NOTHING! We were in absolute awe!! Not only did we feel like the luckiest guest to ever enter the property, but we felt like these people had been life long friends! After a tour of the main house, we were taken to the pool area where the atmosphere and ambiance is something quite magical! The landscape and foliage makes you feel as if you have entered a whole new world. Somewhere that makes you feel as if you can leave every worry behind and breathe in this refreshing greatness. The lighting around the pool, the way they have reclaimed wood pieces to create magical pieces of art, the way the glass fire pit is cozied up next to the Jacuzzi as well as a fire burning stove, will have you melting where you stand. Jeff had a fire burning for us upon arrival as well as the fire pit and insisted we get in the already bubbling Jacuzzi to wash our worries away. After this mesmerizing tour, we decided to head back to the saloon to get situated and check out the rest of the guest house. The wisteria was in full bloom and climbing up the sides of our patio creating a paradisiacal feel. The saloon looks like an authentic piece of history, straight out a movie scene. Just Getting Away From It All...

Beautiful grounds, luxurious accommodations, gourmet food, peaceful surroundings, welcoming staff - it was like a five-star resort without the price tag. I would highly recommend Cedar Oaks to anyone looking for a truly unique getaway in the middle of it all. The sleeping quarters were fantastically comfortable, the pool and garden areas like a tropical paradise, the saloon (yes, I said saloon) like a private party/game room for adults, the food absolutely top-notch (make sure to get the signature french toast), and the staff like close family friends. It's an absolutley amazing find! I encourage everyone to try it now before the waiting list is months long...

Anniversary Weekend

I give Cedar Oaks B&B 5 stars. My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary here. Tanya and Jeff hosted such a fabulous weekend. They’ve poured so much love into making this happen. The carriage house is made into a private saloon with upstairs bedroom, and they’ve put so much into each and every detail. Tanya is very talented, and much of the detail is completely her creation. We enjoyed drinking coffee by the fire pit and hot tub as well as pool. The saloon offers pool table, television, darts, and more. We played cornhole and cranked up the Bluetooth speaker for a bit. The shower and claw foot tub are top notch. Tanya’s cooking is awesome also. We ate dinner at Marais, local restaurant within minutes, which we recommend. We had a perfect weekend and plan to return. 💕

A Beautiful Place

What an amazing place! The Saloon is the most unique B&B I’ve ever come across and is set up for so much fun and entertainment. Definitely a fun place to relax but even more potential as a host an event. The saloon, their house, and the pool area are simply stunning. Everything is so obviously carefully curated, revealing years of hard work. Everywhere you look the decor is so intentionally crafted, yet naturally blended, and to call the final product breathtaking is only scratching the surface. The food Tanya prepared was phenomenal. The pulled pork sandwiches were a delicious sweet heat that paired well with Jeff’s spot on margaritas. Breakfast each morning was a very pleasant way to wake up to amazing French toast and kolaches with mimosas. But hands down the best culinary experience of the trip was the seafood campeche. I’ve never wanted a recipe so much in my life. And to ask “Would we come back?” The answer is we booked our second stay mere hours into our first. We set up a fun weekend with some friends to stay in their newly finished rooms and we look forward to even more fun and games. Can’t wait!

Great getaway

From booking to when we left. The owners, Tanya and Jeff were attentive to our needs. The place is a unique getaway with a saloon and bordello which they recreated to a tee. Breakfast each day was different and delicious from French Toast to quiche to omelets with cup of fruits. Every morning Tanya would make sure not to cook anything we we allergic to and that was extra special for us. Private pool and hot tub was ready for our use at any time which was so relaxing located in their beautiful 4 acre property full of greenery and bird cages. Great property. Kudos to Tanya and Jeff for providing a wonderful space for us to relax and getaway! We can't wait to get back!
