The Neighborhood:
Soulard is the lively spot of St. Louis, loaded with great food and great bars. The area is busy every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and during any home or important away games!

McGurk's draws a crowd every night of the week. Molly's and 1860s have great live music! The Great Grizzly (across the street from the front of our building) is one of the oldest bars in St. Louis and offers free shuttles to and from all home games. Dukes which is across the street (behind our building) has become one of the most popular bars in Soulard!

Visitors can enjoy an endless section of entertainment in the Soulard district year-round, including craft beer at International Tap House, oysters, and crawfish on the beautifully-landscaped patio at Molly’s in Soulard, homemade cupcakes at Sweet Divine, Irish stew at McGurk’s, and blueberry-flavored margaritas at Chavas Mexican Restaurant.

Take part in Pub Crawls that are held throughout the neighborhood and on the music front, Soulard offers some of the city’s best jazz, blues, folk, and rock music options.

With over thirty bars, restaurants, and quirky shops that are scattered throughout the narrow tree-lined streets, every one of them has an elaborate outdoor courtyard, patio, or sidewalk area from which to enjoy the beautiful historic scenery.

For history buffs, the area plays host to the city’s oldest church and the oldest building and for the brave, there are several haunted houses, including The Darkness, located near the former Welsh Baby Carriage factory.

Some must-visit award-winning restaurants and cafes within Soulard are Bogart’s Smokehouse for America's Best Ribs, the Capitalist Pig BBQ, John D. McGurk’s Irish Pub, and Sidney Street Café.

When visiting in January the area plays host to the third-largest Mardi Gras Festival in the world and include loads of entertainment including the Family Carnival, Snow Ball Softball Tournament, Wine & Whiskey Tasting, Cajun Cook-off, Taste of Soulard, pub crawls, and of course, the main event, Grand Parade Day!

Getting Around:
The best way to get around is by car with most highways conveniently nearby. You can also use the Metrolink light rail system to get to many major attractions. Metro's efficient light rail system offers stops throughout the city.

St. Louis has both UBER and Lyft available. You'll also see lots of Lime and Bird electric scooters throughout the city, so you can zoom wherever you'd like!

Perfect city getaway
This is the second time we've stayed at this property and we hope to make it an annual tradition. Each bedroom having it's own ensuite is wonderful, perfect for staying with other couples. The property is modern, clean, and well appointed. Communication with the owner was easy and we always received a quick response. The Farmer's market, restaurants, shops, and bars are all within walking distance. There is a bar within the block that can be noisy but that's to be expected in this location. We have had a wonderful experience staying here.

Very Great Place/Location
My family and I came in from NC and We stayed here and it was a very great place and location to stay it was quiet and reserved. Kristin was very responsive and always available when needed to ask a question! It was clean and I like the keyless entry part but The only issue was the dogs next door barking during the night BUT that can’t be helped and that was understandable, not the owner’s fault! There was nearby bars and restaurants in walking distance. You will be very pleased with this place! I will definitely book again in the future.

Filthy at first
When we arrived at the location, both unit were filthy. It was as though no one had cleaned them in a long time or just did the bare minimal touch ups. The carpets hadn't been vacuumed and floors, stairs and walls were dusty and dirty. We contacted the management/host and they sent someone right away to clean both units. When we returned the place was about 95% there but to their credit, it was a lot to clean in a short amount of time. The place itself was nice and a perfect set up for two families to have their own spaces. But as far as stocked for use, it wasn't even bare essentials. Not enough plates or cups for even just our family of four. Nor any kitchen towels to dry dishes. Again, when we contacted the management/host they brought supplies over right away. They were quick to fix things that we found broken. So they're quick responsiveness was what brought the star rating to a three. Beds were great but the pillows were horrible. We ended up, all eight of us, going to IKEA and buying new pillows on the second day to save our painful necks. We're used to other location having some toys and games for the kids but they didn't have anything there like that. Water heater is not big enough for four people so take quick showers if you're all showering at night/morning. And there was no cookie sheets or baking pans to make any sort of meals there. The frying pans and knives were great. All that seemed new so it was so strange that we found the place dirty when we got there when so much of it felt newly redone. As far as location, its very close to everything we were wanting to do in Saint Louis. Less then 10 minutes to everything for us. Great coffee shop walking distance from the house. Lots of bars around there though so felt a little less family friendly. The neighborhood is definitely going through some gentrification so still a lot of buildings that looked run down and boarded up. But also lots of new builds and renovations going on. In a year or two this area will be really nice. The other complaint from some of us was the highway being so close to the house you could hear traffic noise. Not so much in the house but kinda not the best view from the backyard. We've stayed at other locations by this same management company and they've been great. The customer service is top notch so this might've been just a one off experience with this location. But like I said, they were quick to fix any issues which we appreciated.
